It's a great workout that makes sense, you feel like you get a good workout, but don't leave feeling overly exhausted and in pain. The instructor is professional and well trained and will assist you with form and doing the movements correctly so you don't unneccesarily hurt yourself. Prices are more than reasonable as well and you aren't locked into a contract.

Now my fiancé and I wanted to get in shape for our wedding next year and we knew we had to start now. I chose PE fitness studio because it had the ambiance I wanted, a comfortable setting to work out that was a typical gym. They host small group classes and one on ones, so you won't catch some creep in a machine in the corner slowly moving while staring at you. Perfect. Not looking to go to a gym. I need someone to motivate me to not quit and just sit there. Laurel suggested we start with 20 half hour sessions with me and my fiancé. I couldn't commit so I agreed on 15 but will definitely be buying more. She motivates me by chatting me up about my favorite topics to get me forget about the agonizing pain in my butt as I squat across the room. You think 30 mins isn't a lot, but when you mix in cardio and the deathly push ups, trust me, it is. Laurel is a sweetheart and doesn't let me quit! The other day she threatened me with burpees if I tried to cheat on my across the room squats, aka I ran halfway across the room when she wasn't looking! Laurel is a sweetheart and soooooo flexible with scheduling. I 100% suggest one on one training with her. It's pricier than a gym but let's be honest, you weren't going to the gym. You're less likely to cancel when you have a wonderful sweet woman waiting on you!!! Did I mention she has an adorable pit bull puppy and she texts me photos of him all the time??? Because she does! She also checks in the next day to see how you're doing. This warm renovated mill Is the best place to force yourself to do something that we all know I 100% don't want to do! Join join join!!!!! You've never felt so at home!!

I personally not a person like to workout but she made the process easier for me to start and to continue. I have visited her lovely studio for more than a year now. It's perfect for people who are shy or feel a little bit awkward around many others when first started. You will get VIP experience for private class. She also offers duet class or group class so you will have many options. If you are not sure about anything, she also offers free trail class so you can experience it first. The location is also good for UConn students or anyone near the area. It's much easier to keep practicing when you don't have to drive 20 or 30+ min. I highly recommend Deb and her studio.

My mind was blown! Coach Cerji is a great teacher: methodical, very clear in direction and why doing x may cause y, and encouraging. Coach Cerji balanced group instruction and offering one-on-one adjustments and guidance. I couldn't recommend Ocean State Archery more, no matter your experience level. Can't wait to go back!

I first discovered Kodokai while searching for a dojo that offered training in a two-sword style or…read moreKenjutsu. After joining, I also started classes in Palace Hand, quickly realizing that both styles benefit one another and eventually even adding Karate to my repertoire to engage my mind and body. Sensei Branchaud and Sempai Kim have reputable credentials and are truly great teachers, constantly pushing their students to become better and improve their skills in every class. Here they offer Karate, Palace Hand, Sword, Weapons, and Zen Meditation classes straight from Okinawa, Japan. Kodokai is a great place to have fun and get into shape, or even just lose some pounds while gaining knowledge, respect, discipline, and self-defense against one or multiple attackers. I have definitely lost weight and have gotten into much better shape since I have started my training. When it comes to training you might expect the drill sergeant type of method that is common in most dojos offering monotonous routines, but it is not like that here. This is self-defense training not sport competition training. They offer self-defense classes for kids, teens, adults, and private lessons. All training is done among students from beginner to advanced ranks without limiting anyone's training in order to accommodate a lifelike scenario since no attacker is the same. I have gained skills that can be utilized to protect myself, friends, family, and possibly another person who is being attacked or needs a helping hand. My work schedule differed from my class schedule and they were able to work with me to create a schedule that would work for both of us. It is a relaxed environment with great people who are fun to learn with and are very open to welcoming new participants to our dojo. There is an extensive amount of knowledge that is taught here much more than I can explain. If you are looking for authentic martial arts offering practical training this is the first and last place you will need to check out. It might be hard to find at first but it is located on Eddie Dowling Highway in the Plaza at Park Square in the back of the building (across the Street from CVS).

I asked why --- he was already sitting nicely on the bench and knows my weight lifting takes exactly 15 minutes --- thats it. No cardio nothing else. The man stated he cant have him in the gym due to insurance reasons. I said hes sitting on the bench and he knows to stay there while I lift weights. He stated what if he falls/ I said he wont. I felt like saying = then he will get back up. Im a single mom with no set of grandparents nothing and I needed a gym to help get my muscles back in shape from a previous car accident. This was shocking and STUPID. I got refunded in cash and my son cant stand that anyone would even do that or suggest or block me and called them LOW QUALITY CITIZENS. I forgot the instructors name but she was very patient and pleasant. I cant wait to build on my skills with her in the next Ariel yoga class I attend. I also really loved the words she read at the end of class. "What is a good man but a bad man's teacher? What is a bad man but a good man's job?"
