My doctor had sent me an order for bloodwork, so I went to the Quest website, logged into my account, and set an appointment date. Yes - walk-ins are accepted, but personally I prefer not to leave it to chance for how busy it may be at any one time. Once you set your appointment, you get a QR code, which you scan at one of the kiosks in the waiting room, along with your ID and insurance card. The whole process is super easy. This was my first time at this location and it was quick and painless. I loved the nurse who took my blood; unfortunately I didn't catch her name (small, black hair, tattoos). The technicians that draw the blood are fine, never had a problem. The last time I went to this Quest was a big problem and the problem has not been fixed yet (over a week). My doctors office had faxed over the orders for two different blood tests twice- each time I went over there was nothing so I had to leave without the tests. The third time I brought in a hard copy and the blood draw was done. I have a Quest account and was able to see that samples made it to the lab. Then nothing.....and still nothing. Says the sample is still at the lab. These are very common everyday tests that should have been ready in a day or two at the maximum. I have done the "find my test" option online and still nothing. I need these done but if I do it again at Labquest I'm going to be paying twice for the same test! I won't be using Quest anymore which I hate but can't do this again with them. read more

I went to the Woodbridge, Marblestone Dr., location and would give it 0 stars but that is not an option. I walked in and the place was empty! I could here the two "workers ", I'll use that term very loosely, in back laughing it up with each other. I checked in as a "walk-in" and was subsequently given a time of 12:20pm, it was 11:10am, again there was no one in the waiting room. A couple people came in a few minutes later and they also checked in and sat and waited. What is the point of having "walk-ins" if your just going to put that person in an appointment queue and completely ignore them until the arbitrary "appointment" time? The workers obviously can't get more than two brain cells to fire at a time, they don't comprehend the meaning of "walk-ins" or just don't give a sh*t, probably a bit of both. I can only surmise that because whoever runs this circus also doesn't care and is why they couldn't grasp the "walk-in" concept. Here's an idea....fire the two "workers" and hire someone with at least 4 active brain cells!!! read more

I was at the check-in kiosk when the phlebotomist called my name. I put some hand sanitizer on, quickly rubbed it on my hands and picked up my lab order papers which I had put on the counter. When I handed the papers to the phlebotomist he said "is that spit or hand sanitizer" and pointed to the bottom of the paper. I had not realized that some of the hand sanitizer had gotten on the paper. I told him it was hand sanitizer. After he finished the blood draw, I asked him if he was kidding and he said no, that he suspected it was hand sanitizer and was explaining how disgusting some people are. I do understand his need to protect himself but it was an extremely insulting question. read more

Quest in Ashburn Va does not have the staff lately. All the appointments are either taken or grayed out. I need a blood test with fasting. The only appointments are for the late afternoon and far out. I went to Filigree Court as a walk-in and the technician said anyone that is a walk-in will not be seen. Only two lab tech working on Saturday in this big commuter town. We all leave home between 0530-0700. This place is not accommodating. When I worked in the monitor said 28 min wait, I'm at 3 min wait on the screen after 60 min but the screen changes every 15 min so to do simple bloodwork is taking over 90 min at this location. I get my blood work done every single month, I chose this location because it was the closest to me, the past three months that I have gone I've seen the same lady (can not remember her name) and I have had pain and hematomas after each time I've gotten my blood drawn from her. I have never once had pain or have gotten a hematoma or swelling from getting my blood drawn in my life. She yelled at me one visit because I was a walk in and told me that I needed to make an appointment but she would squeeze me in, I was so confused because quest has always been so accommodating to walkins and welcomes them. I will never go to this location again as I want to be able to extend my arm after I get blood work and go on with my day normally. Go to another location. read more

Simple enough. Waited bout ten minutes and was helped. Fairly quick and easy process after that. No complaints here, except for the lack of receptionist. I signed in and the lab tech took me in no wait because I was the only one there. I sat down they took my blood. My first time ever having to get blood drawn through an order and this location was recommended. I was conveniently able to make a same day appointment online for 1:45pm, only hours before my selected time. The place was absolutely empty when I arrived at 1:27pm and no one was at the front desk. First thing I noticed was the place was very clean though! At the front desk, it indicated I had to sign-in; the process is modernized and completed electronically. I just happened to print off my appt. details so I was able to do so with the confirmation number. Waited about 2 minutes and then was called back ahead of my scheduled time. There only seemed to be one lady there, Renee, but she was super friendly. Blood work was quick, painless and I was in and out of there in about 10 minutes, if that long. They did accept my insurance (BCBS) as well. Based upon my experience, I would not hesitate to go back to this location, and although it wasn't really needed in my case, I recommend making an appt. I mentioned the empty waiting area to Renee, but according to her, the volume varies greatly and is never the same from day-to-day or even hour-to-hour. Quest Diagnostics is a large corporation with numerous offices throughout Northern Virginia. My experience with the office in Woodbridge was not good. On May 16, 2014, my physician told me to go to Quest for a routine blood test. I am 74 years old and on Medicare and Tricare for Life (Medicare supplement). Quest did the test and then billed me for $739.46. I was stunned. The invoice was overprinted with a remark that Medicare had deemed the test unnecessary and that I had signed a statement that I would have full financial responsibility if Medicare denied the claim (doubtful). So be careful: 1. Determine up front what the charges will be. Do not wait for an invoice. 2. If you have Medicare or other health insurance, do not sign a statement accepting financial responsibility. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. Have used this place twice. First time: wait was nearly 1.5 hrs behond my scheduled time slot. Second time: 35 minutes beyond my time slot. BOTH TIMES THEY NEGLECTED TO COLLECT AND SUBMIT THE PROPER SAMPLE FOR AN IMPORTANT TEST. This is sloppy the first time, and outright negligence to have happen again. I usually have a good experience with this facility but today I had a HORRIBLE experience. My appointment was at 3:15, and I didn't finish one simple blood draw until nearly 4:15. Once I handed the tech my lab request she said she couldn't do the order because she didn't know where to send it. The fax number was directly on the order and it was written clearly. She said she wasn't allowed to call the dr's office when I've had techs at this same location call the dr to ask questions or confirm information in the past. I drove 30 min to this Quest because I've had good experiences with them in the past. She wanted me to go to the hospital for my test after I had already driven in traffic to this facility. I needed the blood work drawn before surgery next week and was not going to leave till this was taken care of. I called the office in front of her and told them she wouldn't do the blood draw. The doctor's office gave her the same fax number that was on the paper and that I told her. Then she said she still couldn't find the dr to send it to and made me call again to get the provider's npi. I've never had a simple blood draw take so long and leave me so frustrated. I have no confidence that the results are even going to go to the correct place and be on time for my surgery. read more

I walked in for a simple urine sample. I signed in and waited 55 minutes. There were only 4 patients taken care of before me. I watched as others walked in and were not greeted at the front. There is a chime when the door opens but nobody cares. They want you to sign in, sit down and don't bother them while the employees chat in the next room. I could hear them talking about everything but work while patients sat out in the lobby. One elderly gentlemen patiently waited to give paperwork while standing at the front desk, within view of the chatting employees, for at least 10 min. He finally gave up and walked away. Jasmine is the only professional in the place. Somebody with some authority needs to step in and correct this lack of customer service. I've rarely seen such apathy towards customers and a complete lack of appreciation for a patient's valuable time. read more

I walked in and was greeted by Jasmine. I was the only one there. She checked me in and before I could sit down she called me back. She did a single stick to draw blood. My blood was a little slow today so she placed my arm down and squatted the entire time to help it move a bit faster. Very attentive and friendly. I signed in at 12:52pm and was pulling out of the parking lot at 1:10pm. Would have been faster if I wasn't dehydrated causing the blood to come out so slow.
