The front desk is mostly pleasant to deal with and the phlebotomists are efficient. No one likes to get blood drawn, that's for sure, but this Labcorp, in my experience, makes it a mostly painless experience - pun intended!

That's a lot being said for a service that sticks a needle into your arm but in all honesty, I have referred many others to this lab and will continue to do so as their service is a "breath of fresh air" compared to the cold and distant personalities of other labs. ....however..... Was not too pleased with Philo on 12/23/2024, 2 PM as she was rushed, "No blood only air," did you drink anything today? "All I'm getting is dehyro patients today". etc. NOT GOOD. Louanne saved the day when she took over and successfully extracted 6 Viles with breathtaking ease. I would have given ya 5 but one variable got in the way. Hopefully the issue has been addressed.

The front desk staff was pleasant and I didn't have to wait long, probably the only positives of going here. I was taken back to a room and shortly after a female PA came in. She literally looked me in the face and said "I'm not sure what you came here expecting" as if I had hobbled into my dentists office and told them I'd hurt my knee. She didn't touch my knee once or do any sort of exam, just had one of the nurses take me for an x-ray (which showed nothing). Then when she returned with the results she said "you may have injured your meniscus." Again, this was done without doing any sort of exam whatsoever. She then told me she'd wrap it in an ace bandage and told me to try going to an orthopedist. The two minutes she took to wrap my knee was the extent of her coming within 5 feet of me! Wrapping my knee in an ace bandage was probably the worst thing for me because it only made the pain worse! I would have been better off taking my $75 co-pay and lighting it on fire instead of wasting my time here.

I waited more than two hours to see a doctor even though there were only two people ahead of me. My appointment itself took about three minutes. I really only needed to get a bad cold/cough checked out to make sure it wasn't turning into bronchitis (it's not, luckily) so it felt silly to wait so long for such a comparably minor ailment. Otherwise, it's fine and takes my insurance. This is my second visit and the only one that had such a ridiculously long wait time. Just wish staff were more communicative about how long it takes to see a doctor.

I chose velocity because it was close to my home and family members had had good experiences there…read more Upon entering the receptionist was very nice. The wait was not long.. we were brought into the room and the young lady proceeded to take my blood pressure with an automatic blood pressure machine. I explained to her that I have a problem with those because they push up too high and it bulges the veins in my hand, and I have a tendency for bleeding under the skin in my hand because the veins pop so if it goes too high, we need to see another option. So she wasn't happy after a few times and my veins were swelling so I told her please stop and she said well then she'll have to take it manually and I said that's fine thank you. Next, I wait a couple minutes and a lady comes in. She doesn't take my blood pressure. She doesn't check my temperature. She doesn't check anything. And she says what what can I do for you. So I tell her that over the last couple weeks I've been very sick. I had a virus with a lot of coughing and everything and now I'm sick again and that I have very bad pains in the back of my right lung so she said so what can we do for you. So I tell her that I would like something maybe a medicine for my nebulizer and I'm spitting up green and yellow and I really feel like I don't know what's going on, but I really feel like the pain is so bad in my back, I need a chest x-ray to find out just what the pain is from. So she checks the back with the stethoscope and says I don't hear anything so your lungs are clear. So I tell her I'm having trouble breathing. I'm coughing a lot and I'm really concerned about that and also something is just not right because I can't seem to get well. She says well there's nothing wrong with your lungs. It's clear so I'm not giving you a xray. She walks out comes back with a prescription saying she's gonna give me a low-dose albuterol for nebulizer some prescription for cough syrup and a prescription for anabiotic azithromycin. So I asked her is that anabiotic OK to take with a heart problem because I've had other antibiotics that have upset my heart as I have a fib and a couple other issues. So she tells me that all antibiotics are safe with all heart problems and if I have a problem with that I can call my doctor and ask him. And she leaves the room when I pick up the prescriptions the two cough syrups that she prescribed were $60 and $80 respectively and my insurance doesn't cover them. My grandson was with me the whole time shaking his head. He said they have never seen her before. They have always seen a male doctor. A couple days later my grandson takes his wife to same place thinking their regular person will be there. She ended up with the same person as me with a very similar experience. She can do her own review but two days later she goes to UConn ER and was tested for Covid and the flue had chest X-rays and intravenous for dehydration. Also a different protocol. She tested positive for flu. Since we live in the same house I am assuming I would have tested the same if I were tested. I am 71 with comobilities and can say this is not the place to go if you really need help. I would also like to suggest that this person that saw both myself and my grand daughter go back to school and be retrained or maybe she is the wrong line of work or maybe she had a bad week. I don't know but neither of us will be returning.

Upon entering, the sanitizer was facing the receptionist behind the glass. None for the patients. We are sharing clipboards and pens, without having hand sanitizer available to us-nor was any of it wiped down in between. That's my first concern. My second concern was the fact that I HAD to pay up front, without being able to submit to the insurance company. I have an HSA, so the expenses are submitted to my insurance, and I pay everything towards my deductible. So if I am billed again, I will expect my payment will be applied towards my deductible. Third concern; it was 53 degrees outside when I arrived. The A/C was on INSIDE, and all the employees had coats on??? Lastly, I left with instructions to go purchase my own brace and take ibuprofen. So I hobbled out of there feeling just as injured as upon my arrival. There are postings all over the facility asking to comment on yelp or Facebook if you're Happy! If you're Not Happy-call the office manager. If you're afraid of negative feedback, maybe do something about it rather than publicly argue back with the reviewer. We do this to assist businesses in order for them to make appropriate changes. Not to be mean.

Our grandson was a patient at HFSC a little over a year ago, discharged with promises of follow up and NOTHING. He has been hospitalized three more times for the same challenges, never again accepted at HFSC and the outpatient day program which has been promised, then slow rolled with delay excuses which made little sense and now after an 8 week wait that was supposed to be 3 we shall see how it will go. My referral was sent several weeks ago, and after being told it was waiting for a doctor's review, I did not receive a decision for another three weeks. When I was finally contacted, I was informed that the referral had been denied because the testing was considered not medically necessary. While I understand that not every referral will be accepted, my biggest concern was communication. It was extremely difficult to get in contact with anyone by phone, and I spent a significant amount of time trying to reach the office for updates. The long wait times and lack of communication added unnecessary stress during an already difficult process. If you are considering this practice, be aware that you may experience delays in receiving updates and may have difficulty reaching staff by phone.

When I went there was only 1 other person waiting for someone in the waiting area. I got into an exam room within 10 minutes. Once vitals were taken, I had a long wait to see dr,or pa, around a half hour. The person who finally came was pleasant, efficient, a bit abrupt as rushed due to an emergency, so the visit was short. At least I got taken care of. When I left the waiting area was full, with people standing. Thankfully I got there before the crowd. The wait time once checked in can be very long - My daughter had waited an hour one morning even to get into an exam room. I recommend going off- hours if possible to avoid spending a very long time there and getting minimal attention. It does work ae a place to go if need.

I've been to two of their local centers 3-4 times but was never told could l could make an…read moreappointment. l never realized an "urgent care" facility might take appts for planning to be I looked at their web site and it still went right over my head. I knew l was coming today as l had booked my ride a week in advance so there was plenty of time to make an appt had l known this. Not one person, administrative or medical ever mentioned the time l could have saved had l made an "urgent" appointment. I was sitting there waiting patiently, "in the dark." I did finish my medical appointment and the medical staff is always incredible. That little time saving nugget would have saved me well over an hour. In spite of the delay and no explanation of why people who arrived later were seen incredibly faster than me, I'm still extremely pleased with their medical care. I really miss the x-ray equipment that was moved to Berlin. That really made this location shine. The medical staff is incredible. They are good listeners. They are really thorough at asking both open ended and detailed questions which brought out other options pointing to why l have been sick. My test was negative for strep so l asked if it might be a good idea to do a PCR covid test. We did exactly that. The bottom line is that l still may possibly be suffering from hay fever. Or maybe tge flu, but we didn't rest for flu or RSV. I'm still at a bit of a loss. We ruled out a few vital things and I have a broad sprectrum prescription for a sinus infection. I get those frequently so l am hoping this RX kicks this out. A little extra administrative training could make this facility an even better urgent care facility. Please bring back the x-rays. On a scale of 1 - 10, I'm still giving them a 8.5, as the medical care is excellent and the location is perfectly located. With x-ray equipment, they are easily rated a 10. Signage in the facilities followed up by verbal reminders indicating "appointments" would be extremely helpful. I really only realized it was avaliable tonight after reading reviews after my day visiting them. My goodness! Who would have guessed? It's a great idea, had l known. Duh. It's brilliant to be able to plan ahead via an appointment to be treated in an "urgent care medical facility." I can't be the only person who had no idea of the appointment availability. I just read another review and realized we never discussed a flu test. I've never been tested for the flu so l had no idea there is a flu test. That might be another reason l may be feeling poorly. A friend mentioned RSV testing as well, but it's too late now
