When they brought me into the…read moretreatment room, there was a second woman in the treatment wearing scrubs who stood to my right as I was in the patient seat. . The employee, on my left, reviewed my doctors orders without introducing the other woman. When I asked who is she, the employee said "She will be drawing your blood" . The unidentified woman began drawing blood from my right arm, while the employee continued working on the computer, and not supervising the other woman. After the second tube, the woman told the employee the blood wasn't coming out. The employee sent her away, and started drawing blood from my left arm. Although I was not asked or told, I suspect second woman was a student. My right arm is now black & blue from her attempt. This encounter was extremely unprofessional and down right unethical, using patients as guinea pigs for students without disclosure or permission! These people should be investigated!

I was here back in January. Today is 3.3.20 This location is…read morevery clean. They're always quick with light wait at times if any. The techs are usually good. Last time I had a newbie and he couldn't find my vein but the second tech felt for it and said it's right there. My veins have never been a problem to find for anyone drawing my blood. So it just had to be a new inexperienced tech. No big deal. They all have to learn. He drew my blood and still painless. So no problem at all. Only a minor hiccup. They have very reasonable prices. Much much less expensive than when I have it done at Yale. Always pleasant. Sometimes they are dry & just clear to the point, but they're not there to give you hospitality like when you go out to a restaurant. They are there to provide a service and get it done effectively & efficiently. They do this and they do it well. Don't get me wrong, they're not nasty or anything like that. They are there to provide a simple service, which they do well, and go on to the next client looking for the same. It's a numbers game which is executed in a well mannered time frame. Keep up the good work.

Filthy!! Unsanitary! Office smelled horrible and was crammed with people waiting. In the room where…read morethey draw blood the garbage can was overflowing and entire floor was covered with used dirty gloves, syringes, blood tubes, those elastic straps that go around your arm, wrappers, plastic blue rings, and gauze. No exaggeration!! The lab tech was literally using her foot as a broom to sweep away a path on the floor so that I could walk to the chair through the biohazard. I commented on the health hazard and the lab tech took offense and told me it's not her job to clean or take out the garbage and if I don't like it, that I can leave. To which I did. This was at 9:30am. I can't imagine what the place looked like at the end of the day! I called CT state health department, and Quest headquarters. A supervisor called back and apologized for the experience. I'm not sure what was done to inspect and improve the situation but I would never go back there again. So gross. On top of the filth, I experienced a long wait time, even with scheduled appointment. The link that was text to me to check in did not work so I had to go into the building to manually check in; again, a lot of people crammed in the waiting room (which smelled like someone was heating fishy leftovers in the microwave).

Two things about the Southbury location:…read more 1 - Fully agree with the below review. We were a walk-in (and the only walk in) and we got pushed for an hour and finally left. We arrived at our appointment time of 10:30. The check in kiosk gives you the option of waiting in the waiting room or outside. The screens were giving everyone a hard time. I'd suggest tapping lightly. The waiting room was packed and they were still calling a four people for 10:20. There was also one 10:30 appointment ahead of us. The waiting room was clean and smelled pleasant. The seats were okay. We had a lot of laughs and good convos while we waited. The techs were apologetic and everyone in the waiting room was so patient. Someone in the waiting room informed us that 2 people were out so there were 2 replacements. Not sure if we got a replacement but she struggled to find my daughters vein. She was moving the needle around in one arm with no success. Before I began to get frustrated she did the other arm and was successful. Not sure I'd go again. If I did it I would anticipate having a long wait.

I explained that as she is in a wheelchair and so ill, I can't guarantee any one day or time that she can keep an appointment, so we take it an hour at a time. We sat patiently in the waiting room for over an hour as patients were taken in up to 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment while my mother vomited into a trash bag. Although they were shorthanded, one of the techs still managed to take a lengthy break. Finally, after 1 1/2 wait there were no more patients in the waiting room. Still my mother sat while the two techs were behind closed doors. I knocked on the door to find out what the issue was and was told they were catching up on paperwork. They were also taking care of blood before it went "bad." We waited another 15 minutes before the 2-minute blood sample was taken. No one who works with ill and/or elderly people should be given a position such as this.
