I checked in 10 min early for my appointment. I was fasting and I didn't know that they didn't go outside to check if patients were waiting outside the door. I was sitting outside next to the door I was not in my car or away from the building. The pathologist told me they called me 3 times, and then told me they don't go outside to check for patients. It takes less than 5 seconds to walk to the door and call my name. I wouldn't be expect them to walk around and look for me. I was devastated because I was waiting for so long, on an empty stomach, and didn't even acknowledge that I was there on time or gave me the chance to be seen. This place is a joke. Came in and signed in to drop off a specimen. DROP OFF. Are you kidding me? Why would people have to wait one hour to drop off? Then, one of the Phlebotomist (I'm assuming) stated it would be about an hour wait. Ridiculous. Never coming here again. Awful and ridiculous. Quest do better, people have things to do, not wait an hour to drop off something that was already ready. read more

The one star is for the company and NOT the STAFF. I usually go to the Quest facility in Patterson. However they didn't have appointments available, which is ok. I decided to make an appointment at their Hawkeye facility on two separate occasions and both times my appointment was cancelled. I was able to get one for their Tuolumne lab. Well, let's begin with the fact that there is NO SIGNAGE and the facility is hidden from street view in a medical office building complex. Even in the parking lot there is nothing stating Quest diagnostics. The parking lot situation is horrendous, especially for patients like me that use a walker. It wasn't until I was walking the complex that there was a hand scribbled sign on a dr's office stating that quest was around the corner through a fence. Once I got in the waiting room was overflowing, standing room only with a lot of angry looking people. I checked myself in and overheard that some people mainly walk ins had been waiting since 6 in the morning to be seen, and that they were behind on appointments. Many walk-ins had also had appointments at Hawkeye and be cancelled. In the time I waited to be called back a young lady came out to addressed the lobby in both English and Spanish. She apologized for the long wait times and let the room know that due to the maintenance closure at the other Quest the facility was fully booked with appointments. She stated that walk-ins may experience a much longer than usual wait times as appointments are prioritized by their computers. She let them know that they were still more than welcome to wait but that service may not be guaranteed. She offered them cards with the phone number and website for the appointments and asked if anyone had questions and she was immediately swarmed by walk ins. She handled herself very well and composed and even showed some patients how to scan the appoint card code for the webpage. I was eventually called back and the gentleman who serviced me was wonderful even when I mentioned I was a tough one to stick. Quest, do better by your employees. My sister is a nurse at a local hospital and she happened to be with me that day, she believes maybe the employees would benefit from unionizing SEIU is one of the local unions. Just a little thought because they do great work under great stress and keep a smile on their face. No one working with the direct public especially healthcare where they are helping people being mistreated deserve to be worked to the ground. I commend the blood draw skills of my tech I think his name was Corey, and the young lady who addressed the full lobby as careful and professionally as she did and different languages. I go to quest for all my blood draws. They are efficient, short waiting times, almost painless but friendly. The facility, not matters where it's been (I have been to 4 locations with these folks) is always clean & professional looking. I easily recommend you give them a try. read more

I had an appointment and checked in online as early as I could (10 minutes before the appointment time). I was called back right after I sat down in the waiting room. The person who worked with me was kind and professional. I was out of there only 5 minutes after my appointment time. I am super impressed and happy with their service. read more

Customer service is abysmal. You cannot ever speak to a live person on the phone and ask questions. When you go to a location all sign-ins are electronic and time-consuming; and, again, there is no-one you can talk to for assistance. I am severely impaired because of COPD. Trying to sign-in damn near killed me. Seriously. I had to yell for assistance just to get an employee to help me. Made me feel like a fool. They are completely brain-dead to the need sof the elderly. Both locations operate the same way. Hire a damn receptionist to pete's sake! And answer your freakin' phones. I use this facility two or three times a year and am always pleased with the entire process. I always sign up for an appointment and am usually called at the exact time. I've never had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes. The sign in process goes quickly also. The person drawing blood has plenty of experience since this is a busy place. read more

I was dreading coming here after reading the other reviews. Unfortunately, both locations have not-so-great ratings. I came in hopeful for a calm, decent experience as I get very nervous with blood tests. The employee at the front checked me in, but was a little loud and abrasive in asking me questions that were borderline violating my privacy, as I wasn't the only person in the waiting area. The same employee was going to draw my blood, so I became SUPER nervous. She asked which arm I wanted my blood drawn from - I said left, she insisted on the right. Great. I tried making some small-talk to ease myself, as it was very hard to focus on breathing when I'm looking at the floor and all I see behind the computer area was an empty vile. I read that people found this place dirty. I wouldn't call it dirty, but after seeing the empty canister or whatever you want to call it, I would say that they do need improvement. Who knows how long it's been there. Their floors weren't dirty to me, but just looked outdated. She told me that they see about 200 patients a day and how mornings are horrible. I made an appointment for the afternoon and really didn't have to wait... maybe 2 minutes or so. While we were briefly talking, a man was waiting to be attended to outside in the waiting area and she yelled, "Hold on, sir, I'm busy!" and asked another woman to help him, but she said, "I've got a situation right now, sorry." Seems like there is a lack of teamwork here. And more. So, basically, this place needs some upgrades. And more employees. read more

I have been here before and generally I have been less than impressed, with the wait and feel of the place. (at times even with an appointment) However I must say that this mornings experience was as pleasant as getting blood drawn can be. Due to my experience with waiting at the other Quest location in Turlock, I decided to try this location and to make an appointment. The process went a lot faster. I did have to correct the same paperwork errors that had occurred at the other Turlock location, but this time they seem to have actually fixed them. I was seen exactly on time for my 9:45am appointment. I was led to a large room where office cubicles had been set up as blood draw stations. The tech was rude and literal about everything. She left the tourniquet on too long, so I undid it which seemed to really make her mad, but hey, I want my lab results to be accurate. The place was also sparsely decorated and looked dirty. It did not have a clean laboratory feel to it. Showed up on time for a 3:45 appointment I made through Quest's 800 number system. This was my second attempt at getting a liver panel blood test at this East Hawkeye Rd. location. After I signed in, the tech announced she was the only one there and that she would not be able to service the 15 people waiting by closing. I promptly said, "even if I have an appointment? " She said she had no record of my appointment made 4 days previous. She then took 10 minutes to locate my M.D.'so fax sent 4 days earlier, & complained she did not have my Medicare information. I left with out getting the liver panel for the second time. I doubt if Quest Diagostics could run a more unprofessional operation if they tried. I am not going to let anyone from Quest stick a needle in my arm. read more

Although they are fast. This morning I had a glucose screening done. They handed me a pager and the lady told I could sit and wait in my car. I did just that. After 2 hours and the buzzer not going off I went in to check to see what was going on. One of the phlebotomist told me that my test had been canceled because I didn't show up after the first hour. She went on to tell me I must have left the parking lot when I in fact sat in my car in the parking lot for over 2 hours. read more

Had an order for simple blood test on my teen son, need a insurance card or no test. We were referred by primary doctor. What a crappy lab!

After reading all of the horrible reviews, I was reluctant to bring my 1 year old in for a blood draw. But I eventually did and had a pleasant, positive experience. I made an appointment online and showed up 10min before my appointment. I checked in using their computer system and then sat to wait. The waiting room was empty when I arrived, so we got called up within 5min. Since it was a pediatric blood draw they used two nurses to restrain my little one from jerking during the process. Although her veins were tiny and hard to see, they got it quickly in one try. My baby didn't even cry although the same couldn't be said for the other two babies getting blood draws at the same time. Even though I forgot to bring my insurance card, I was able to easily update it online once the bill came in. My only drawback was that office staff gave me conflicting info on how to update insurance information which resulted in returning to the office and trying to update it in office only to be turned away, go home and read over the bill to discover that I could update it online in 5min. Otherwise all around not as soul sucking as I thought it was going to be. read more

I usually come here like right when they open. And it's usually fast. Walk in, wait 5 minutes, get called in, have work done and then off to the rest of the day! The workers here are also very nice, fast and efficient. I recommend. I don't recommend coming in like around 9-12pm because it is usually pretty busy. read more

Sad to say but this is the lab that my insurance company sends me to. I though I was just spoiled from having Kaiser for so many years but apparently I'm not the only one who things this place looks DIRTY, the staff is extremely RUDE, the wait is beyond RIDICULES. I didn't know I could make appt. or else I would have but I waited over 3 hours for my lab work as well. As other person said I had been fasting and not get my blood drawn until 11:30 was horrible not because I was hungry but I have bouts of hypoglycemia & dehydration could have made me really sick, Then on top of it found out from these lab work that I was also anemic so going without food or liquids is putting me a risk. Doesn't the staff realize that most people getting lab work is because they are or have been sick not that they care but they should at least realize this. I plan to make copies of these reviews & submit them to my insurance company (1st Care) and hopefully they can find a better place to go or approach them about their lack of proper staffing, training their staff and maybe cleaning up their places to make them look like professional business. The sad part is that I need to go again & I'm dreading it, but do plan to make appt. this time hopefully that will help with amount of time I have to spend there. I read the other reviews written on Yelp & sad to say but they are all true not one of them sounded out of line with the experience I had at this company. read more

First, there is at least one phlebotomist here who is amazing, it's difficult to get blood from my small veins and she is quick and painless each time and she's also very sweet. I'd give her five stars. However, there is another I will never let touch me again. The first time she poked around (painfully) for a bit before finding my vein. I had a large bruise for two + weeks. Went back for another test and got her again. She fished around with the needle again, apparently nicked a nerve in the process, and I had to take Tylenol when I got home it was so painful. I understand it will heal but it's painful and it can take months, and of course she left a huge bruise. Never again. read more

Like most of the other reviews say, this place is absolutely horrible. There really isn't a good time to come, as it took me 1.5 hours to even get my name called for paperwork.
