RUDE RUDE RUDE - don't come here unless you have no choice. When you arrive (with an appointment NOT walk in), don't bother opening the door, they immediately yell at you to wait outside. There is a line of 10 and you're expecting to stand there and wait. Finally, someone comes out and checks in. The person at the front desk was extremely rude and when I asked if they had the orders, she said she wouldn't be able to tell me until it's my turn which could be 5 min or an hour. I usually go to Quest in Palos Verdes. I'd had to have blood tested for the last 12 months every month. Quest in PV is super helpful and very efficient. But the Torrance location (Skypark is the worst customer experience I may have ever had) has made me mad enough to post this review. First, I had an appointment critical to success at this location but had to cancel it due to another urgent matter. I've been here (still in the waiting room) for over an 1.5 hous, and I'm 6th on the walk-in list. The part that bothered me was I checked in having an afternoon appointment but needed to be seen as a walk-in. I went through the software three times to check in as a walk-in, but it wouldn't let me. There are no people to talk to. It's a kiosk-only check-in. They don't take phone calls either. So I had to put my foot in the door as someone called in to ask them how I went from an appointment to walk in. I was told to fake out the system by entering a fake name and phone number. The problem is that it didn't work for about five reasons, Dob, insurance info, driver's license, phone... So I just stopped another person as they took a patient. Unbelievably, I asked her if I would be seen as a walk-in. She said you'd be seen at 1:40, your appointment time. It's now 11:06. I canceled my appointment I reminded her. She shut the door on me. I'm now 5th on the list, nobody to talk to, no answers, no phone call to call. I would suggest staying clear of this place. It's literally like they are desperate to avoid talking to the people/patients, you know, the reason they are in business; beyond ridiculous. read more

We tried to use the website to make an appointment but couldn't so we took our chances first thing Saturday morning. When we arrived 10 min before opening the line was huge. But I rationalized that nothing they do in the lab takes too long plus at least 1/3 are caregivers or parents, not patients, so I hoped we'd get through quickly. We did! Under 20 min to get in the door (I think everyone had to wait in that line to put name on list, though once inside, folks with appts get priority). Under 20 min to get called. Under 20 min to get all 3 of our blood drawn, double checked paperwork and paid for. They are far more efficient than I thought. An employee did mention that if there is a staff shortage then it isn't quite as efficient. I spoke to 1 person at checkin and three nurses. Second visit today was even better! I was in and out in less than 30 minutes. The people who work here are so nice and even remember me from my prior visits. Wendy is a great phlebotomist! Everything was quick and painless. She is the go to person if you are known to have hard to get veins. I recommend coming here in the afternoon as the wait tends to be lighter than in the early mornings. read more

I took my baby here for a blood test. I made an appointment online which was pretty easy. Found a parking spot quickly, checked in on their tablet and waited between 5-10 minutes. The phlebotomist was very nice and good with my baby. He seemed very experienced and immediately had another person come over to help. Even though my baby's vein was deeper than expected (which meant it took a bit more time to get the needle in the vein) we were able to get my baby's blood drawn successfully. It felt like the longest minute ever and who knew it would take 3 adults to draw an 8 month old's blood? Of course my baby cried during the whole thing but afterwards he was fine and stopped immediately. Overall I had a very positive experience and recommend this location. read more

Came for a blood draw on friday at 4pm. Electrónic check in which is easy and self explanatory. Name and birthday only. I was called in 5 min after check in. Phlebotomist was Alex. He was kind and professional. We joked a little which takes the edge off before a blood draw. Im super difficult to draw. I showed him the one area that is more likely to work. He listened and went straight there and got blood. He thanked me and I thanked him. This was a easy experience and I will be back read more

I left and went to Torrance, who had more people in a bigger waiting room! They quoted me 30 mins-I was in and out in less than 30 mins! The bigger reason why I will always go Directly to Madison St Torrance is because of their AMAZING STAFF!. 1) Both receptionists Nina and Wendy are polite, professional, and happy to assist and answer questions. They'll make you feel welcomed even if it's crowded and they're super busy! Super friendly and beautiful warm and happy personalities 2) Alex -Lab Tech in the back office is a ROCK STAR! He got me in and out within about 5 mins -he explained everything with such a professional manner -you know he's " on his Game"!! I made an appointment online in the end of October for 12/24/22, surprised they were open and allowing to schedule. I was 15 minutes early and they hadn't opened yet. There was a sign on the door they were closed on Tuesday only, but they did not show up on the 24th! I was able to reschedule for 12/27/22 at 10:40. I arrived & checked in by 10:35 and noticed people checking in after me were being called. I asked why, the response was "you have a lot of tests". After another set of people came in 20 minutes later I was still waiting. Doesn't matter how many tests, I had an appointment and you go in order of the appointments! Doctor asked for a blood test with not a lot of warning so I ended up being a walk-in and not having an appointment. I had to wait for a bit but considering it was crowded and I didn't have an appointment it was understandable. Once I got called it took about four minutes for my blood test. The nurse was extremely present and professional as well as the woman at the receptionist desk who put me on the waitlist. Quest Diagnostics at 23441 Madison St. In Torrance has a rude person at the front desk. After checking in and receiving a 9 minute wait time, it ended up being 55 minutes. After 20 minutes I asked the person at the front desk about the 9 minute confirmation. She said it doesn't matter what the computer reports. I then said our visit was called in as urgent, she said it doesn't make a difference and doesn't change anything. After half a dozen people checking in after me were called in and left, I went up to the front desk again. This time they said your name is not in the system. We logged in again and made to wait for everyone in front of us to get called. Poor customer service. I gave 2 stars instead of one because part of the problem is from the disregarded urgent referral. Lousy communication all around. read more

The worst. Took my 1 year old to get blood work for his allergies and they only processed one of the two lab slips. So not only do we not have the results, we have to take him to get his blood drawn again. If you go here, ask a million questions and make sure you triple check they are sending the right slips in!! To SAVE yourself time and wait I surely suggest going with another company to do your pre-employment screening. I HATE giving horrible reviews but I came in with an appointment and had to wait more than 1 hour. There's a screen that lists your name wth the queue time and it was obviously incorrect. From the time I walked in my wait time said 15 minutes. I actually just witnessed a lady get upset and had to talk to a manager. I understand her frustration especially having kids and needing to do errands. But when you usually do screening it takes no more than 15 minutes at most 30 minutes whether its blood works or urine but my advice is to go with Labcorp. I haven't gone with them but their reviews are surely much better than this company. Sorry to say this company gives false wait times. read more

I walked in on a Saturday without an appointment. They open at 8 am and I was there by 8:10 but there was already a long line, at least 30-35 people ahead of me. The line goes all along the hallway because their waiting room was full already. When you finally getting into the room, you check in on a computer/iPad kiosk. It took me an hour to sign in on the kiosk. It was so full that I had to stand for a while and finally got a seat. I waited another hour before the front desk girl called me to get my document with the labs my doctor was requesting. She also asked for my insurance. When I informed her that I didn't have the actual card because my job just switched health care providers, she looked annoyed. I told her I had my temporary health insurance card on my phone and showed it to her. She didn't even look at the screen to get my information. Then she asked me to show her the card again. Why don't you just check the information when people show it to you the first time? She seemed irritated overall so I didn't take it personally, but she was also rude to an older couple that didn't understand the questions she was asking. Also, there is a screen in the waiting room that shows your wait time. The estimates are completely inaccurate because your time will increase as people with appointments show up. I was okay with that because I didn't have an appointment and was able to wait as much as necessary as long as they could do my lab tests. read more

I read all reviews and got scare to visit this location however I gave them a chance since this location is the closet from my house. I visited here on Tuesday morning 6:55 am and more than 10 people already are lined up. I expected to wait at least one hour but as soon as Lab is open they called at least 5 people with in first 15 minutes. This is not a restaurant so they don't greet you like a server. They do their job so attitude was okay not bad at all. They called me after 40 minutes later and it took only less than 10 minutes take my 8 bottles of blood sample. I left here before 8 am. Just expected to wait an hour either with appoint or walk in. You will be okay. read more

Front desk were rude and not helpful at all. I tried to make an appointment 1-2 days prior but there were no availability however it stated that I could do walk-ins. I walked in and they said the system changed today and they weren't taking any walk ins. They said to make an appointments online and that they were 100 percent sure because they just helped a lady make one. I've been going to the Madison Street location for a blood/urine test once a year for years. Never had an issue. The staff have always been professional. Today, I walked in to my 9:45 am appointment 15 minutes early, worried about a crowded waiting room during Covid and was pleasantly surprised that the waiting room was empty. Even if it were full, they spaced the chairs far enough apart that I would have felt comfortable sitting and waiting in the waiting room. In the past, sometimes it gets crowded but they put your name on the TV screen so you know exactly how many minutes until you are called (I don't know if they still do that). I used the scan code on my phone to check in, gave them the paperwork and insurance card, and they called me 2 minutes after I arrived. Was done in 5 minutes. Very smooth. read more

I'm sitting in the waiting room now where I'm being refused an appointment for a TB test that I have to come back for. They say how appointments aren't necessary walk ins are always available. They lie about the insurance company denied the claim so I had to pay. It turned out that they never sent the bills to the insurance company. This is what they do. So please careful. read more

It's hard to review this place. The staff are usually pretty nice. But the wait can be atrocious. I know they have an option to schedule appointments but sometimes I need to get in right away and they don't have appointments for several days out. It can feel like getting in to the DMV. I wish they had longer and more convenient hours. I do like that they have a monitor that shows estimated wait times. I just feel like they should hire more staff because everyone always seems to be frustrated with the long wait time too. I'm sure if they were more efficient, reviews would go up a star or two quickly. If you don't have to fast, go in the afternoon (after lunch hours) as this seems to be the quietist time. If you need to be fasting, go in first thing in the morning, show up about 40 minutes before opening and hangout with a good book or movie. read more

DO NOT GO TO QUEST is what I would tell friends and anyone who needs needs a gentle phlebotomist. In retrospect, no tourniquet was put on prior to the draw, no opening and closing fist. The needle insertion hurt more than normal and continued to hurt after the blood was taken and the bandage was put on. Afterward, I also had muscle twitching in that upper arm that continued when I got home. Now I have a black and blue mark. I am am in good health and have had blood taken before. This was terrible and unprofessional. Their office has a computer at the front desk where you check yourself in and there is no obvious supervisor monitoring that phlebotomists. Quest needs to reevaluate their organization and the manner in which they interact with clients and especially the phlebotomists. Even if they ask clients for feedback would be a good 1st step. I went to Quest a couple weeks ago for a bunch of blood tests at a different location. There was one test they couldn't do. So, they sent me over to the Madison location in Torrance. It's a 30+ minute drive for me, but they can only do what they can do. They didn't tell me about any restrictions regarding the test. After waiting at the Madison location for nearly an hour, they called me back, finally looked at what test I was getting and told me they only do that test M-Th. I was not happy and shocked that no one told me ahead of time and that no one bothered to see what tests people are coming in for before making them wait nearly an hour. I tried to stay polite and then the phlebotomist remembered to mention that I have to come in before 2pm for the test. If I wouldn't have lingered a moment with my upset, I wouldn't have known that, either. I left as politely as I could. Today, I show up before noon and waited for almost an hour again. This time when they called me back and finally looked at what test I was getting, they asked if I'm fasting. I wasn't. Apparently, if I'm not fasting they can't do the test. This time, I don't do as good a job of holding back my anger at not being properly informed by anyone up to this point and about having to wait almost an hour to find out they can't do the test today either. If this happened to me twice over, then it's happening to other people. This is no way to treat sick people. I'm going to find a different lab to do this test for me and don't plan on coming back to this location for anything in the future. Quest needs to sort out its patient intake problem and the phlebotomists need to communicate better. read more

But I went to go sit down and was called 15 minutes later to get my lab test. Process took no longer than 10 min. Was first skeptical after reading about wait time because I had to pick my daughter up at 2:30pm that same day from school in Culver City. I sat and waited for about 20-30 minutes and within that time span I saw several more patients walk in (some that had listed their name down and came back, and some that were new.) Also within that time I only saw ONE PATIENT being called in. There was already around 15 people ahead of me, and I only saw one person walk in within the 20-30mins I was there. I went to another quest diagnostics in Beverly Hills to pick up a stool kit. Employee there gave me a small bottle with very vague explanation. When I showed it to my husband, who works in a hospital, he said it was the wrong kit. So I decided to come to this location where it's closer to my home. Even though the room was overflowing, the front office staff was able to provide me with the correct kit quickly and explain to me thoroughly how I should store and turn them in.
