Have had to reschedule a number of times because of info not on the website. The website functions fine to set appointments; the rest is outdated and much of it appears to be broken or badly coded. There's a phone number but it goes nowhere because they no longer take phone calls. There are no longer people at the front desk. Check ins are done with an electronic kiosk. There's a link on the website that says something like, "Click here to find out more about x and y". Next to it was a tiny i, the thing you click on to get more "information" about the link. It said, "This is the link you click on to get more information about x and y". I am not making this up. The second time I was there a girl, who was nice (but only because she personally happens to be nice and not because her job indicated to her that we need to be nice to the customer), mentioned that I could have my doctor fax the lab order. When I called my doctor they told me they don't bother faxing Quest bc Quest never gets their faxes... but they would try anyway. Sure enough, on the next visit they didn't have a fax from my doctor. The website, near as I can tell, does not say you must bring a physical copy of the lab order. It does not list an email address. There is however an email address written in messy handwriting on a piece of paper the size of a shirt tag that looks like it was fished out of the trash which is taped to the front desk that has an email address on it. Since not everyone in the universe has a smart phone (like the unhoused or people who need the money to buy fruits and vegetables or luddites); you get to go back home and email the lab order. Ah, but something else they don't proffer at the office or on the website; they don't keep emails for more than a day. So if you go to your scheduled appointment thinking you're golden because this time they have the lab order, it might go something like this: Tech that looks like a guy who was in juvie: "So do you have a lab order?" Me: "Ah, well last time I was here I learned I can send it to that email address, so it should be here." Tech that looks like a guy who was in juvie: "Well, I don't see it here... Was it sent today?" Me (wondering if he has hashish in his ears): "No, it was sent last time I was here...". Tech who looks like he steals cars on the side (getting snippy): "We don't keep emails for longer than a day..." Me (I look up at the ceiling - I most emphatically do not look angry or huff and puff or give him attitude, but I might look like I'm trying to conceal a nervous breakdown behind the most thoughtful facial expression I can muster): "Can I email it today, then?" Tech who looks like he has medical marijuana in his car: "Yeah you can do that." I then realize I didn't bother bringing my flip phone, which I have for reasons not worth getting into. Me (very apologetically, sorry for asking): "Oh, you wouldn't happen to have a phone around here I could use?" Tech tells me with his cake hole: "If it's fast enough (because the appointment can't go over ten minutes)". A moment passes. Me:(being very hat-in-hand apologetic in tone) "Would there be a phone around here I could use?" Tech: (speaking the way Darth Vader would speak if Darth Vader were a 23 year old guy who gets high and plays Magic The Gathering with exclusively male friends) "No. That would be your responsibility." Me: (not wanting to be trespassed from the property) "Well, we'll have better luck next time - see you then." Leave. Tech (picking his nose): "I've already forgotten you were here." Ok, that last line is made up. This is not written to hurt Quest or get some kind of revenge (necessarily). This is impossible. They don't have to care. The other kind of business is something like a department store where they go way the heck out of their way to be friendly to the point where you try to hide from the store associates wondering the aisles with infrared scanners to track you down and beg forgiveness if they've neglected you in anyway (TARGET)... or a hotel or a restaurant, places where bad customer experience hurts the bottom line - but not a super low price apartment complex or the government or a lab that draws blood. Their bottom line isn't affected by you. There's nothing anyone can do about that. It is what it is. I guess this review is just here to express sadness that we live in a world where people are only nice and helpful when they're required to be nice and helpful. So, bring a paper copy. Don't let the doctor email it to you. Or email it to them the day of the appointment (unless there's something else they didn't tell me). Lesson learned. Will be getting blood drawn at doctor's office, tho. They don't offer but when I ask they're fine with it (just have to fast before every visit just in case). Anyway, there 'tis. If you are in need of a pediatric blood draw, this is NOT the place! Came with my daughter, who was very anxious about the process and they were running over 15 minutes behind late on appointments when we got back there they couldn't find the orders from the doctors office and then once the orders came in there was a lot of confusion about what tubes to use and they had to call in another phlebotomist to help with the printer, etc. at this point we had been there over an hour and 10 minutes and my already anxious daughter was beside herself. There was no explanation of what was going to be done. Once asked to explain the process, they used terminology to explain that was way above the developmental level of my daughter who was even more anxious. They did not lay her down and she became very faint and they had to stop the blood draw halfway through. They said that they needed to continue they would have to bring in somebody else. It was a very traumatic experience for my daughter and I'm very disappointed. I had to ask for water for her and the phlebotomist seemed very inexperienced and unprofessional. Terrible organization. They cancelled my appointment not once but twice last minute. If you fast, good luck rebooking a morning appointment within 3 weeks. You call them to see if they can help rebook you a morning appointment at another facility within the same week and they just fumble around and provide no assistance. read more

I got to the clinic at 10:25 this morning and two of us (#1 and #2 on list) waited over an hour to be told at 11:20 they would no longer take any standbys because they close at 11:30, no acceptions. If I could have made an appointment, I would have. I had an Urgent Care requesting on Friday. I now cannot make my Monday appointment without labs. I understand that you close at 11:30 on Saturdays. But there are NO other clinics open in the Conjeo Valley on Saturday. A suggestion, stop accepting standbys at 10:30am and if there are any left at 11:30, please have a heart and serve them! I visited Quest at Rolling Oaks in Thousand Oaks on Saturday 04/11/26. Since they accept walk-ins and open at 7:30 a.m. on Saturdays, I arrived at 7:20 a.m. There was one person waiting outside. The first phlebotomist arrived at 7:38 a.m., but with her coffee in hand. Maybe the line at the coffee shop was long and that's why she was late. I believe her name was Jessica. She opened the doors and everyone checked in. By then there were several appointments and seven on the stand-by list. I was first on the standby list. The office has three appointments scheduled every ten minutes, starting at 7:40 a.m. Since staff was late, the first appointment wasn't called until 7:50 a.m. At 9:00 a.m., I asked if they would be calling people from the standby list. Jessica told me they were short one person but they try to take people from the standby list. She suggested I make an appointment but by then I had already waited 1 1/2 hours. At 10:30 a.m., the other phlebotomist made an announcement, they were understaffed and "may" not get to the standbys but they were "trying to catch up." I believe her name was Yvonne. As soon as they caught up, they started moving slower until another appointment showed up. At 11:31 a.m., Jessica announced the office was closed and the standbys would not be seen. There were three of us and two of us had been waiting since before 7:30 a.m. I suggested to Jessica that in the future they make an announcement at the start of the day to inform clients they are understaffed. Jessica gave a very corporate response, "we try, we made several announcements, and it discloses the policy on the screen when you check-in." I repeated my suggestion and requested she pass my suggestion to her supervisors. She repeated her corporate answer and refused to accept any accountability. Basically, we didn't get seen because staff arrived ten minutes late, got started twenty minutes late, and could not be bothered with common courtesy to let us know at the start of the day that they were understaffed. Corporate - please provide better guidelines and proper professional etiquette training for staff. read more

This morning I received extraordinary service and attention from phlebotomist Sage. Like so many businesses, Quest Diagnostics is currently struggling to meet demand while maintaining a minimum of overhead. No longer is there a helpful security guard in the waiting room and the understaffed team of phlebotomists is dreadfully overworked. As a patient needing their services, you can see it and you can feel it. Still, despite the pressure of getting them in and getting them out, Sage managed to remain effortlessly charming and thoroughly professional, all without a hint of stress or frustration. Within the few minutes allotted to me, Sage was able to deal with my complicated paperwork, wade through a tangle of various doctors' referrals, and respond positively to my many questions. My identity was quickly verified, blood was drawn painlessly, and Quest's records were updated in an impressive feat of multi-tasking. Good job, Sage. Thank you for being so nice. read more

My phlebotomist was great. This isn't the reason for the poor rating. I needed to fast, therefore I needed an appointment for the early morning. Also, I had to be at work by 830 am. The earliest that I was able to get an appointment was 730 am. Mind you, I got online to make this appointment last Monday evening. I arrived at 6:57 am. I signed in. Several people came in after me who did NOT have appointments. They were actually seen and out before I was even brought back to get my blood drawn. WHY make an appointment if I could have actually got in before? It's not cool and not fair to those of us who planned ahead. It was very frustrating and made me very, very angry. I've taken my mom here twice for blood work and the staff were incredibly nice and helpful. I wonder if things have changed since all the bad reviews? My mom's Dr. didn't forward the order to this lab and so the ladies here kept our appointment open until I sorted it out and we did not have to reschedule. I could see it was frustrating for some people in the waiting room to use the kiosks and not have a person on site to answer questions. It would be nice to have a receptionist or manager to oversee things so the lab techs don't have to do everything. I am super upset with this quest location. I made an appointment for 1:40pm and was not taken back until 2:30pm. While I understand that some appointments take longer than expected It was very frustrating sitting for almost an hour waiting for my appointment. The staff were super nice but did not apologize for the long wait. I believe if it was going to take almost an hour for an appointment they should have apologized for the wait. Went last week for my 6yr old to be seen. It's not an easy trip for us as she has a hard time with these procedures because she has special needs. She was crying and screaming while we were in the waiting room and as we walked to our room in the back. While we're waiting in the room they can tell she's not going to settle down and all of a sudden don't have the correct paperwork to do the labs and we have to leave, print out the forms ourselves and come back. These POS staff members DID NOT want to help us. They turned us away with little sympathy and could care less for what my daughter has to go through. Now we have to torture her again and make another trip out to a different lab since the incompetent staff here did not want to do their job. After making a few calls, we were informed the location did indeed have all the paperwork and referrals to assist that day, they just did not want to work with my daughter. I admit, my daughter is not easy to work with but they showed no effort at all. I advice not to support this location and go elsewhere. Looking at other reviews here, this place should not be open or needs an entirely new staff. Prescriptions are sent via email, and the nurses simply gave me an email address so I could forward it when we turn up for an appointment. Not any more. Needs to be printed, or sent in via fax. During here prepping, she never neglected my existence, answering my questions patiently. The whole process was done in an amiable way, not to mention she's so skillful: just a light feeling with one try, she's got all the blood needed! It's difficult COVID 19 time. I've been to a few other Quests and hadn't had very good experiences. The staff seemed unfriendly and rushed. But I have to say this office was great! They were closely following COVID standards with cleanliness and social distancing. I checked in quickly and was brought back very fast. The staff was so friendly and made the experience great! Emily, my phlebotomist, was so nice and made the experience much more comfortable. She was outgoing and very nice. My doctor ordered a very thorough blood panel for me and I had the test perfomed by this Quest location. The phlebotomist was very good and the procedure was virtually painless. Results of all tests except testosterone were available within 3 days. However, testosterone took over a week, and the result reported appears to possibly be an error, as it declined by about 1/3 in less than a year since the previous test. I have never had a testosterone test take more than a week to get results. I tried to contact Quest by phone, and found that they do not take phone calls. Instead, they force you to use their online chat, where I got to deal with a rude person named "Daisy." She had no answers for me as to why the testosterone took so long, and told me to have my doctor order the test again, of course at my expense. I did what she said, and I will never go back to Quest again. The only customer service they provide is billing you and your insurance provider. If you have questions, too bad for you! read more

The worst organized business. The place closes at 4. Allows walk ins. Myself and several others arrived almost 2 hours before they closed. Sat there and waited. Then someone comes out at 3 saying they can't help any of us. Why allow walk ins if you can't accommodate. They are so scattered there. They need to change their hours of operation to actually take care of their customers or atleast see the people that did check in. They're not unpleasant here, but I have never failed to have a problem with the paperwork. The doctor will send over orders, I'll confirm that with the doctor's office, I'll show up and check in, I'll go back (late, invariably), they'll start getting ready, then it's "There's no order" or "We don't have the insurance card that's been on file and that sent the order and that you scanned ten minutes ago to check in." The amount of admin I have to do on their behalf is unreal. The inattention to orders has caused me to have to reschedule appointments multiple times, which is fun when you have to fast and also waste your lunch hour on it. I've tried calling beforehand to make sure they have orders, but it does no good because no one answers the phone. Again, the employees are pleasant enough, but the whole operation is sloppy beyond belief and that's really not okay when it comes to health care. read more
