I came to quest to get some Labs done and the check in process was really easy and there's plenty of parking as it's located in a strip of other businesses. The woman who drew my blood was a bit unsure of where things were because the room she was in was not the one she normally worked in and some supplies were missing. I just felt really uneasy but all went well and I did not have any issues. My concern was the cleanliness of the room and the fact that they have chairs in this place that are severely rusted. This place is in desperate need of a facelift. It starts when you walk in the door. There are about 20 people in the tiny waiting room at any given time. There are not enough chairs, so most people have to stand, many of them elderly. Once they call your name, they take you down the hallway to a room. The hallway walls and floor look shabby. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint and the floors are all scuffed up. Why do I point this out? Because this is a lab, where everything is supposed to be sterile. It doesn't look very sterile. Now for the blood draw. I've had the same man the last two times I've been here. He was nice, but a little rough with the blood draw. Both times, he left a big bruise on my arm and I could feel the needle moving around. This location is certainly convenient, but they need a rehab stat! read more

Here Today! Guess what happened to me when I visited this Quest Diagnostics!! I saved a man's life! Ok here's what happened! I walk-in no appointment, it's crowded. I sign in and had a seat, i'm looking around, minding my own business while playing Phase 10 on my phone. As we all should, I'm paying attention to my surroundings and I noticed this gentleman I'm guessing in his 90's with his care giver sitting in his walking chair. Now why that catch my attention? I pay attention, same as I do with the elderly passengers on my bus. It's about 8-10 of us waiting to be seen and as we all do mess with our phones to pass the time. All of a sudden, I noticed the gentleman slump over and drooling at the mouth, his care giver started commanding him to speak to her, tugging on him no response. The caregiver started banging on the clinic door, they thought she was an inpatient patient. So I jumped into action and dialed 911 - I was the calm one..Super Here to save the daaaay! Now everyone started running outside yelling for help and yelling loudly inside, as I'm on the phone with the 911 call center. I calmly instructed everybody to breathe and let me hear, answer their questions and follow instructions. I took his pulse, breathed into his mouth and administered chest compressions. CPR! No I didn't hahaha I simply answered a few simple questions, remained calm myself, did as instructed and wah la... the paramedics arrived. Because of my heroic act, everyone applauded and allowed me to get my lab work ahead of them. In the back, the clinic was clean, organized and well staffed for the volume of patients waiting. My labs was done according to text book, professionalism and treated with respect. Chain of custody followed as protocol...I was outta there. Here today, saved the day, in and out quickly! read more

We have been coming in this location for a while now. We have no issues until today. My husband has phobia with needle stick. He would stop breathing and the fear would make him stiff. What works is, we lay him down and coach him to relax and breath. This is not a childish reaction. His fear is real. I requested to lay him down when drawing the blood. The tech was good to requested a room with the bed/chair. Yet, she proceeded to draw the blood while him sitting down. She thinks just 2 tubes is ok with him on the chair. My husband's anxiety rose. The tech did not listen. She continued to draw while my husband stopped breathing and shaking. "He's ok", she kept saying. We came here thinking that they are considerate and patient oriented. It took a while for my husband to recover, esp that he is diabetic and NPO for 12 hrs. Please consider that phobia is real. Anxiety is real. You need to listen to your patient, and not just your comfort. Learn from this experience. We will not stop coming, just because of one inconsiderate tech. There are others who listen. The kiosks are self explanatory & the workers I've experienced are competent. I had a lab request from my cardiologist. I went to the Sugar Land location, and was helped by Natalie Owens. The information on the order did not match up With the computer. There were two other addresses in the system, but I saw the doctor at a third location that was not on the form. I was using oxygen and I was under a lot of stress. The phlebotomist, Natalie Owens, took the time to attempt to reach the doctor which was unsuccessful. She tried other ways on the computer to be able to do the testing -- then suggested using the fax number --which allowed her to get the test in the computer and proceed with the blood draws.. Without the kindness and determination of Natalie Owens I may have had to postpone my heart tests that were scheduled for the following morning. Thank you Natalie. Linda Migura read more

Completely incompetent and low quality service. I was referred here by my urgent care doctor for food poisoning. I get there and it's just chaotic and loud. I get seen in what could only be described as a small insane cluttered dirty room. The tech looked disheveled and was more interested in swiping my card than getting me what I needed. She didn't even have the proper supplies and had to just scramble to find some. I provided my sample and when I came out, it was like she didn't know why I was handing my sample to her. At that point I felt certain my results would be botched or mixed up. I had huge doubts leaving the facility. My results came back negative for bacterial viral or parasitic infection. Doctors were surprised. Meanwhile I'm damn near dying and don't understand how I'm having these terrible symptoms with no cause. I finally go to the er and find that I have a bacterial and parasitic infection. Now I guess I have 2 lawsuits to start. 1 against the restaurant and 2 against quest diagnostic. read more

I was so pleasantly surprised at this lab. I usually have to go to lab Corp and that place is a mess, even with an appointment, you can still be made to wait quite awhile. I once dropped off a specimen and they didn't label it so I had to take time off and drop another one off. With Quest Diagnostics it was easy to schedule a time online, I went on the date and time, checked in on their kiosk and was called back at my scheduled time. Staff were friendly and helpful and took the time to clarify what my appointment was for and double checked the order and didn't give me any trouble as I thought I was only getting a UA and only scheduled for a UA, but the order was actually for a UA and bloodwork, they still did both! They were fast and efficient. This location has lots of parking. Waiting room was packed so there weren't enough seats but people tried to spread out as best they could. Sanitizer was available, masks didn't seem to be required. Only downside was that I tried calling several times before my scheduled appointment to verify they got my order, but there's never a live person answering. read more

Horrible place of business- went in yesterday and was told I can't be seen as I didn't check in on time- was told to check in on line even before coming as that's the best way to handle things- I respectfully left- went in today and checked in ten minutes prior on my drive there just as I was asked to do- they called my name before I got there and when I tried to tell them I'm there no phlebotomist payed attention- got called only after I literally forced a conversation with the tech- horrible service- they literally do not respect anyone's time and have extremely rude attitudes. read more

I eventually was able to book an appointment at the Sugarland Southwest Frwy location and everything went very smoothly. I like the easy check in process. Two minutes afterwards, I was in a room getting prepped. Nicki drew my blood quickly and nearly painlessly. I am squeamish and sensitive to needles but she put me at ease and it was over before I knew it. Nicki is very friendly and her light conversation distracted me away from getting stressed out. My mom comes here to get her blood work done every time. I've been here twice now. She gets lucky when doing walk in but I decided to do an appointment instead as my physician refuses to draw my blood cause I pass out every time. Last time (over a year ago) I was here, I didn't have a great experience with the phlebotomist but she was comforting and kept me distracted. Fast forward to today! Since I had an appointment I used my code to check in. They do temp checks also. The lady doing temp checks told me I have to wait outside after I finished checking in. It said I had a 21 min wait and I was like what?! since I had an appointment. I sat in my car and after a while I stood outside looking at the monitor with the times. I had 6 mins to go on the monitor when I got a text to go inside. Within a minute or two of going inside I got called in. I should have written the phlebotomist's name down because she was awesome. She saw I was super nervous and she told me relax and take a deep breathes. She found a vein that was easy to access and she was super quick. I didn't pass out this time! read more

I was here for a regular blood work and I must say this was my quickest and the most positive experience I had at Quest diagnostic. Credit should also go to darell(?) I believe , he is a new guy here I heard and he was very courteous and professional. He also informed me of the new closeby location that has just opened in new territory as well and is hardly busy. This was on a weekday afternoon during lunch time and the room was packed. What made the difference is I had an appointment and checked in before the appointment time, which put me ahead of other walkins. I was called in 10-15 mins after my appointment time but hey that beats an hour or so long wait. Also the technician made the experience very comfortable, he asked me whether I had been to that location before, during our conversation I hardly noticed when he took the required blood for the blood work, gave me forewarning to inform him incase I feel dizzy at any times during the process, checked in me for this multiple times and answered the questions patiently. Though I didn't have my confirmation number, the front office gal was more than patient and helpful in getting me logged in. THEY DO TAKE WALK INS ON SATURDAY EVEN THOUGH THE SIGN PAINTED ON THE DOOR SAYS BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. Just sign in on the kiosk and take a seat, your name will show up on the TV screens showing wait time. CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFOREHAND AS TO WHETHER YOU NEED TO FAST, NOT TAKE CERTAIN MEDS ETC. IF DOC SAYS ASK LAB SAY THEY ALWAYS SAY ASK YOUR DOCTOR. Quest in general is horrible in that you can never speak over the phone with a human for a particular location. It's all automated with the only customer service option the main central line. A simple process is turned into an ordeal for an already sick weak person who may be fasting or having trouble controlling their bladder etc. When you walk in there are no human workers. Just a waiting room and electronic kiosk to sign in . There's a secure door that the staff only open to call names. So if you have a question you have to wait till someone is getting called, then jump in and try to ask that person your question in front of the entire waiting room. The worst part is the door has a permanent label paint sign that says appointments only for Saturday. Not only is this not true, as was confirmed by a staff here, it is not mentioned by the automated service when you call it actually says walk ins welcome. I was fasting and am already on a very limited diet. Had to move mountains to get to the lab Saturday morning. Had tried to book an appointment but per the automated service no openings till days later. If I had believed the sign on the door would have walked away and had to make arrangements to come back, fast again etc. Thankfully I walked in and signed in anyway. Later I saw my name on the wait time screen and in tiny light letters it said walk in...and realized 99 percent of the 20 ppl in the room were also walk ins. How inconsiderate. People gave all kinds of health conditions, are old, fasting, etc. and you can't remove that sign on the door and provide some basic customer service? Imagine someone walking away because of the sign. Imagine someone waiting half an hour to be seen only to be told they were supposed to fast or take not take xyz med? Please change the sign on your door and at the least add to the appointment system a recording for patients to check with doctor about fasting or any other special requirements before scheduling. NO They insisted Etna was my insurance and I said no I have Humana. They said their system is never wrong?? Now I get an email bill so I tried to contact them and they will not take an online complaint without an invoice number which is not in my email. These people are NUTS. Went today (Saturday) as a walk-in. Very easy check-in process told me how long the wait was going to be. I love the option of waiting in my car with the current COVID-19 pandemic. You have to have a mask which is no problem I wear one everywhere anyway. 50 minutes later a nice lady name Jennifer called me to let me know which room to come to. Ok, just came back from this facility. Their ipad sign in system is the problem. I and the other gentleman waiting more than 40 minutes. It turned out both our sign-in failed.
