The women who drew my blood at Quest failed to make me clot properly. I had to make an emergency stop at my regular treating facility at Kaiser as the cotton she placed per KP was below the standard of care and did not place enough pressure to make me clot. My entire cotton ball was full of blood by the time i ran to KP after Quest, and then KP had to re-tape me and elevate my arm until i clotted. I have had my blood drawn so many times and this had never happened. read more

This office closes for lunch at 12:00pm. I was a walk in but arrived and checked in by 11:43am WITH NO ONE WAITING. A nurse walks out 30 seconds later to say I need to come back after lunch. WTF?! If you close at 11:45am then update the website, etc. to reflect it. I've never had by draws that take more than 15 minutes anyway. WTF! read more

Don't bother coming here without an appointment. Wait times are wildly inaccurate - myself and another patient waited 4 hours, and were finally turned away at noon as the staff had lunch and they do not take walk-ins in the afternoon. Even when appointments are missed and no patients are being serviced, the remaining phlebotomists/staff would rather loudly talk amongst themselves and laugh in the hallway than service patients on the standby list. While I understand that appointments are given priority, it's frustrating to know that zero effort is given to accommodate patients on the standby list. Quest should remove the "walk-ins welcome" advertisement from their website so more people don't waste an entire morning and $28 on parking to receive no service. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. I had a 2:30 PM appointment on July 22 at the Quest Diagnostics in Santa Monica (15th Place), just to give blood for a test. What should've been a quick and simple process turned into a painful and frustrating ordeal. I'm a Black man, and I don't know if it's lack of training or experience, but the phlebotomists here stuck me four times--twice in each arm--before finally getting it right. Four times to draw blood is unacceptable. Do better. Get better training. Hire staff who know how to draw blood from all types of people, regardless of skin tone or vein visibility. To make matters worse, they put medical tape directly over one of the puncture sites while it was still bleeding, instead of properly cleaning and bandaging it. That's basic care, and they failed at that too. This was easily one of the worst experiences I've had giving blood. It was painful, careless, and left me feeling completely disregarded as a patient. Had an appointment, was in and out within 10 minutes. Deborah was lovely :) The whole experience was a breeze.

Usually they stop taking walk - ins at 3:45pm. Fortunately, they allowed me to slip in after that when another person was late for their appointment. The team was very professional. Even at the end of the day when they could have turned me away, they took the extra step to slide me in when the opportunity arose. If you want to walk - in...make sure to get there before 3:45pm. If the other client had not been late for her appointment, I would have had to leave without getting my labs drawn. Many thanks to the team at Quest for going the extra mile this time! read more

They are open but it's ridic they have closed off the reception area - awful they have no help, if u call u can't reach a person, etc. Now the waiting room is small, stuffy, etc. Supposedly moving to diff office in the budge so why build a wall that says patients are unimportant. Also I am having issues with their results. They told me that they have issues with their cholesterol tests and I can bear that out. I get completely diff results at labcorp. If I could give zero stars, I would. There was no information anywhere that an appointment was required. I arrived at 10 AM, no one was at the front desk, and the system gave me an appointment time for 2 PM. I had paid for 20 minutes of parking and had to keep running out to extend it -- parking is $7 every 30 minutes! I had prepared for a urine test and drank a lot of water in advance. I told the nurse that I urgently needed to use the restroom and asked if I could get a container to leave a sample. She said no because I hadn't signed documents yet. I've now been waiting for over an hour. The line is only getting longer. I'm still 4th in line, and there are no places left to sit or even stand comfortably. They work extremely slowly and inefficiently. The service here is awful. I will never come back to this location again. read more

I can not speak for all the locations but the one in Santa Monica 1260 15th street is absolutely horrible. Everyone in this place are like robots. I asked the guy at the desk a simple question about making an appoint and all he can say is he can't do anything I have to call the number. I was 10 mins late today because my child was sick and when I arrived they canceled my appointment and told me I had to make a new. They made me wait over 45 mins on my last visit but you cant wait 10 mins? I have been to this location 2 times and that is more than enough for me. This is the grace you now get from the medical field. They make you wait as long as it takes them because their time is more valuable than yours and people who can't even communicate in a manner that helps patients. Get your labs done at LABCORP in Santa Monica if you need help. They are helpful, polite, will give you better direction and have A LOT more bedside manner that this hole in the wall. read more

Horrible disorganized mess of a place. I have a vital medication that I need to have blood tests monthly for, followed by a doctor appointment to review the test ~3-4 days later, and then only after that can pick up a prescription. I have a one standing blood order that I gave to Quest that covers the tests for all months. The first month, they completely lost my results, causing me have to last-minute cancel my follow up doctor appointment (getting charged $50) and even worse not being able to pick my medication, until days later when Quest finally found the results. For second month, today, I went in and they said they have no record of the blood order being "standing" and therefore cannot take my test. My doctor isn't available to send a new order until later this week, so again I will be without medication for some time. I am not sure Quest realizes that people coming in often have health concerns and are relying on them to provide a service to help them. If they did, maybe they wouldn't be this careless with their patients records. read more

There is no one working at the front desk. No office manager or supervisor was to be found. And not a SINGLE person in the waiting room was happy (by the end of my wait they had all gotten there after me, but had still waited for at least an hour).
