The quality of lab services to clients is a highly personal preference. I'm a registered nurse and I regularly use this company for my clients and myself. I have visited two of the three sites in my area and have found them to be exceptional in these ways: got it done with only one needle stick, got professional and skillful people. Of course I have criticisms but that is not part of this review. The overall care experience is a rare bird these days and I want to share that here. P.S. I have no financial connection to this company and I have a highly critical nature towards services that supplement (or fail) my quality of care standards. I will not return to return to this location. The woman that did my test was not at all friendly and was a bit hostile. She was rushing so when she was doing the blood test she jerked the needle slightly sideways leaving a round circle mark and lasting discomfort. read more

I went here on April 15 (12:50 noon) for my blood test and I was pleasantly surprised. Lisa was helpful and warm. Normally, due to previous unpleasant incidents in other clinics since I have thin veins, this procedure would be a source of anxiety and would make me nervous everytime I have my annual blood drawing.Thankfully, it went well today. Absurdly disorganized operation. We have been trying to use this lab for weeks and it is plagued with computer and other paperwork issues. What should have been a 20 minute blood draw has turned into almost a month of phone calls trying to find out what happened to our lab results. The other Santa Barbara locations are all equally dysfunctional. Quest as a whole is NOT user friendly, provides zero options for getting issues resolved, and only answers the phones before 2pm pacific time. read more

Had an amazing appointment this morning at Quest. Nina was my Medical Assistant and she was Excellent. So pleasant and really efficient. I made an appt. online for 9:30 and was back out the door at 9:41. Super fast, clean, efficient and great customer service. What more can you ask for when you are having blood taken? High recommend this location.A little hard to find, but a parking lot of Le Cumbre takes you to the building. read more

Only human interaction is when they are sticking a needle in your arm! Called to inquire about test results, nobody answered, listened to a message, and was never given a choice to speak with someone, but was directed to the website which is also useless. read more

This is the second time I have been to this location. I have an awful fear of having my blood drawn due to a childhood incident. Today I had to have 6 or 7 vials of blood drawn and barely slept a wink from anxiety about it. I arrived at 6:30 am to get it over with since I had been up since 4am. The phlebotomist that I saw was the same woman (Laura) that I had last time. I can't say enough about how skilled and caring she is. She made a very anxiety ridden appointment a breeze. She's very competent and calming which is exactly what I need for having this awful phobia. I can't recommend her enough! Quest is very lucky to have her as an employee. read more

I got an antibody test on June 30th. Still no results. I've spend hours on hold with Quest. I went into the clinic and they are not allowed to give me the results. I've signed up to receive results via their 'easy access' website. Still pending. Don't waste your money or time. The nurse who drew my blood was great. I didn't even feel it. Unfortunately both times I've been to this office the young man behind the counter seemed put out that he had to help people. He doesn't seem to want to be there. HOWEVER, the help I received with regard to testing was professional and accommodating. It's unfortunate that I was made to feel uncomfortable when I didn't want to have testing done to begin with. I am from out of state. I used this location in California for lab work which needed to be sent to my provider in Oregon. They were very friendly and helpful, even though they were not familiar with my insurance. It is accepted, via contractor in California. I called the insurance to verify. Quest representatives took my word, which is great. They were also able to problem solve looking up my physician information manually in order to electronically transmit results to Oregon. The experiences I have had in Eugene, OR, have also been very good. Wait times for walk-in's are generally short also, which is nice. read more

I showed up at Quest Santa Barbara about 10 or 15 minutes after they opened at 6:30am this morning. I signed in without an appointment. After waiting about an hour and their board still saying I had a 53 minute wait, I finally gave up and left. One person was working and was completed overwhelmed and was slow on top of it. If they are open, they should be staffed for it. It was extremely bad show of customer service. Pacific Diagnostics is a far, far better experience. I have been there many times and never had a long wait. read more

Very excited for this new location that opened. Brand new office, everything is very clean and the technicians that work there are fabulous. Had to bring my young son with me while I had to get pre op blood work drawn. The person that drew my blood had a magic touch and I barely felt the pinch and afterwards there was barely a bruise at the draw site. Hopefully the level of professionalism and quality of care that I received this week will continue for everyone who visits this location. read more

Great unless you actually want to get your results!  Blood draws went well, but no results.  First time for an order from my doctor's office (Sept) and most recently for an order made directly with Quest Direct for COVID antibody testing (over a week ago).  I have tried contacting Quest but have not been able to actually speak with anyone and chat just says "connecting you to an agent" but no one ever answers.  I should have checked Yelp first.  I'd definitely suggest trying somewhere else. read more

I had scheduled an appointment for a Saturday morning at 8:30 am. I tried calling on Friday to confirm the office had received the faxed orders from my doctor. Not only are you not able to speak to a person, the message states one does not need to call to confirm orders have been received. I arrived to a full waiting room, but figured since I had an appointment I would not have a wait. I waited for 1/2 hour. Once I was called back, I was told my orders had not been received. I explained how frustrating this was to the technician. I advise you to hand deliver your orders and even if you have a scheduled appointment, plan on waiting. read more

I am not one to disparage a business but Quest was horrible. Buyer beware.... I signed up on line for a COVID-19 antibody test and was given an appointment and paid online at that time. My Infectious Disease MD daughter suggested that it would be a waste of money so the next day began the nightmare. I went online and cancelled the appointment but I was not given an option to get a refund. Over the next month I spent (recorded) hours online AND trying to talk with someone re: getting a refund and NEVER got accurate help; I was only 'punted' to another number. I finally submitted a fraud claim through my bank as I had documentation. After another month I got a letter from Quest that they were refunding my money MINUS $20 "administration " fee. Incidentally, my MD daughter told me that Quest is the absolute slowest in getting back COVID test results to her hospital, in her and her peer's experience. read more

Frustrated that a system is not in place within the computer system to differentiate between a sample received that is pending vs a sample submitted was not acceptable and client needs to resubmit- both are placed as "pending" with no explanation. Just got off the phone, 34 minutes to explain at national office, found out the results ( 2 samples submitted over 2 weeks) still "pending" because submitted sample was not acceptable, so no sample was being processed and pending completion. There needs to be an improvement in annotating that a repeat sample needs to be resubmitted to process correctly vs just stating "pending". Referring to patient obtained sample, ie stool sample in this case. Called MD to notify that there is no "pending" sample at the lab. read more

Go at your own risk. if you dare to visit this location, please be warned. The phlebotomist that drew my blood was an incompetent imbecile. They had one job to do and that job was to upload the blood test results to my MyQuest app and send the blood test results to my doctor. Unfortunately, the employees at this location were in capable of doing their job. What happened, is that six weeks after getting my blood drawn there were no blood test results to be found. As a result, my doctor's office never received the blood test, and as a result of that I was unable to have my appointment with them. In addition to all of the stress, aggravation, frustration, and above all lack of respect provided by this team of phlebotomists, the billing department charged me for my blood test results. Does that even make any sense? You have the audacity to charge me and send me a bill for test results that I never received. The joke is on you. Again, to anyone reading this review go at your own risk for you will be gravely disappointed. read more

I had a great experience coming for blood work at this location. I went in the morning around 8 and was able to get right in. Irma my technician was amazing, friendly, efficient. I tend to have smaller frame and she was great being able to retrieve the blood with no problem. I would have her pull my blood any time I needed it as knew I was in good hands! Thank you! read more
