The tech was humming the entire time. Told her can't use my arm because veins are too small and they always use my hand. said she wanted to try. Kept pushing the needle around. Didn't work so she tried my left hand. Didn't know what she was doing. Couldn't get a vein so she kept pushing around my hand. Then when she got a little bit of blood she held the vial up in the air so the blood had to travel up! Wasn't working so she called in another tech. She made a mistake and pulled the needle out before the other tech could help so I started bleeding all over the place. Had to clean up my hand and arm and then put on a bandage. Second tech went to my right hand and successfully got a vein. In the meantime, the singer kept talking and laughing about getting days off and vacation and managed to drop the first container on the floor! Just picked it up and kept talking. The two of them kept talking and laughing and walked out of the room just leaving me there!! I got up and left. Today I have a big hematoma on my left hand and it hurts like hell!!!! read more

I was able to get in to this very busy location. online check-in was easy. the waiting room was busy but the techs were all moving as quickly as possible. I am a hard stick and Marina assured me that she would do her best. She was a rockstar! She got the vein on the first try and no bruising. I had a dispensary card and I wrote that on my paperwork at quest before I took my drug test so I tested positive for marijuana of course because I smoke. I'm self pay and I paid $260.00 for this drug test and then they didn't pay any attention to my paperwork in the lab and ran my test again because it was positive for marijuana and charged me another $120.00 I've been fighting this charge since January and they dump my calls when I've tried to explain on the phone. This company owns their own collection agency and they charge fraudulent charges so I'm warning you. Don't go here for a drug test because it's a complete ripoff. Easy online appointments, quick check in, friendly staff and clean facility. Getting in and out of the parking lot is really difficult and the light by the building can be a bit frustrating, especially considering that there is construction happening too. I made my appointment on their website a couple of days before. You can walk-in also, but keep in mind that the appointments are seen first, so be ready to wait for a bit if there is a crowd. I got there about 15 min early cause I always know there is paper work and insurance forms to fill out. I was the only patient at the time in the waiting room and I was seen about 10 min prior to by appt time since it only took 5 min to check in. The needle stick was quick and easy and the lady was really friendly. I got a small bruise after, but I bruise really easily, so not shocking there. If I could, I'd give the Quest Diagnostics team on Mills Avenue (Mills 50) 10 stars. Every single employee is friendly, patient, caring and professional. I've visited this location many times and it's always the same experience. My most recent visit was yesterday, October 27. I was a walk-in patient. Despite being absolutely slammed with other customers, I was in and out in a bit more than 30 minutes. My phlebotomist was Qua'von. She is delightful. Clearly knows how to do her job and does it with a smile and a sense of really enjoying her work with a focus on the patient. And these care givers, as you can imagine, are on their feet all day. As Queen of Quest Appointments, I hereby dub this location Royally Supreme! Seriously folks, I have been to Winter Park, Metro West/Hiawassee, Ocoee-Maguire, Ocoee/W. Colonial and this location WINS hands down, or sleeves up, ha! I have come here with appointments and without and the staff is always professional, friendly and efficient. If you walk in at 7am without an appointment, just be prepared to wait. I highly recommend online appointments because the staff here give those priority over walk-ins. Other Quest locations I have been to have sometimes made me feel ignored even when I have had an appointment. They are also excellent at drawing blood! My friend has always had trouble with veins and since she found this location, she is very comfortable about going for labs now because they LISTEN! read more

I hopped online to make an appointment and she told me I couldn't do that either??? The Bad: I have a service animal and the first woman who came in to take my blood jumped back like he was about to attack her and he was just lying on the floor as still as possible right beside me. She left practically running from the room. The second woman who came in to take my blood is, without a doubt, the worst phlebotomist I've ever seen. I have bad veins; this is a fact. First thing I always ask for is a butterfly in the hand. I have wonderful veins in my both of my hands and I've NEVER had anyone miss. She was an older woman who must have really bad eyesight because she kept saying she couldn't see one useable vein in either of my hands. Really???!!! I assured her they were good and she went for my right hand, dug around a bit and blew out my vein. Nice work! Also, my husband and I were communicating in American Sign Language (I do have low level hearing loss and we communicate using ASL all the time - even in the privacy of our own home) and she asked me to stop signing because she couldn't understand what we were saying. That ticked me off more than the fact she blew out my vein. DO NOT tell me which language I may or may not use!!! On a side note, when I taught dental assisting, I always let the medical assisting students practice on me so they could learn to do the butterfly needles in the hand and I never even had one of them miss and they were all doing it for the first time. Anyway... I was more than annoyed at this point. The Good: The third woman who came in took my left hand and immediately saw a good vein without barely looking. She even commented on how she couldn't believe the other woman had missed. She hit the vein on the first try and I didn't even feel the needle going in. She was also very, very nice. If I have to go back here again, and I'm sure I will, she'll definitely be the one who gets my blood from now on! The office is very, very clean. The reception area is large, which is nice so you don't feel cramped. If you have an appointment (and I HIGHLY recommend you make one), then they'll have you back in 5 minutes or less. read more

But, they don't even tell you they can't see you or turn you away. There is nothing done to notify the walk-in's that this location is at capacity. It had been a while, since I had had to use Quest laboratories for any of my lab( work due to different health insurance). Last time I went to lab quest there was a friendly face at the front counter who checked you in, took your insurance information and asked you to take a seat! The CLAY location I used to go to, closed down and I had to find the new location. I found it in the fresh market center located on Mills which is very convenient. When I went to this new one, I was so surprised at finding no smiling person, but an I-pad to check in. I had read negative reviews and I was a bit apprehensive....but check-in was simple quick and efficient. :). The young lab tech came and got me at my allotted time. She was sweet professional very efficient. My blood was drawn and I was on my way within 15 minutes. The lab was clean and neat and everyone seemed very happy. I would recommend this lab any day. read more

I still prefer LabCorp, but when you don't have insurance and your doctor will only use Quest... you don't get to choose. That said, I've now been to 3 Quest labs and this is my favorite. I made an appointment for 10:30, showed up at 10:20 and got in by 10:35! At the other locations, I always still had to wait another 20-30 minutes even with my appointment. The waiting area is a bit dim and I had to circle twice before finding a parking spot, but the bonuses for this location are that the receptionist is friendly and the phlebotomist didn't yell at me for not being able to find a good vein to use. I will be returning to this location from now on! read more

I was called quickly after I arrived, the technician was extremely nice. She couldn't find my veins to take a blood example so she called another technician, which a really appreciate. read more

My experience at this Quest Diagnostics location has been great. My doctor's office does blood draws, but I make the extra stop to come here. I don't have great veins, so it's worth it to go where I know they'll get it done on the first try. I would just be happy with a punctual appointments and lab techs who can draw blood without using you as a pincushion, but this location also has very kind phlebotomists who treat you well and seem to genuinely care that you have a good experience. read more
