I am just now 9 hours post op, I was a patient of Dr. Steehler for a full tonsillectomy w/adenoids…read morealso removed, cannot recall the full term he shared too groggy. However, I wanted to leave my review for new patients such as myself or even those preparing for their first upcoming surgery. I did pay out of pocket and I won't lie and say that it was a hefty price!! Front desk staff will state they do NOT do payment plans if you are uninsured however Daisha (billing dept) was so incredibly sweet and made an arrangement with my finance, we split the cost in half so we paid a week pre op, and then I paid my remaining today! My arrival time was 7:00AM, I checked in by 6:40am, and was called back not long after checking in, I want to say maybe 20 mins max! My pre op nurse(s) were Trish and Leah, omg they both really eased my anxiety, and had such wonderful bedside manner, they made me feel as if I was chatting with family, they promptly got me prepared for surgery by administering my IV, giving me Tylenol beforehand, explaining what I needed to do such as a provide a urine sample, get undressed, check my vitals etc. Leah provided additional comfort by setting the lights down as the beds are laid out in a row outside of the operating room, but curtains are all around to give privacy! Dr. Steehler popped in not long after to go over my procedure, answer questions, as well as discussing medicine aftercare and providing overall reassurance Anesthesiologist Dr. Dobson, did the same as well, asking my medical history, elaborating on the type of medicines I'd be actively given while under and what they do he was kind but more direct simply a doctor who has been doing this for quite a while I could tell, so easy work for him but nice nonetheless! I don't recall seeing him after he came by pre op but I believe he was in the op room. My OR NURSE Shanta was very nice as well as she wheeled me into the operating room, I can't recall the name of the woman I just know she was the anesthesiologist nurse (Asian woman) OMG she was amazing she really made my experience so relaxing as she administered the anxiety medication pre op before I got wheeled in the op room, both she and Shanta were at either side of my bed next to my head. All I remember was Shanta providing oxygen, and the very pretty anesthesiologist nurse, complimenting my dumpling stuffed animal, and next thing I know we were talking about Labubu's which I collect and love as well, the irony of that was just great because she really helped me drift peacefully, and it just created a bond of trust being in her care! After that next thing I know I'm awake in the observation room post op. I cried softly to myself as I woke up I wasn't in excruciating pain or anything I think just the nerves of having my first surgery and successfully doing it, everyone was right it really felt like the best nap, as if I slept on a cloud. Nurses Marlynn, and Susan were also very sweet and gentle with me, they monitored me for 15 min until I was discharged. Sorry ladies as I was out of it and processing going through my surgery.. but I appreciate your reassurance, and care as I was monitored and Susan for coming in clutch the extra banana ice pop! If you reached up to this point, I hope I've reassured anyone who is nervous! The staff is excellent in care, and bedside manner. They made me feel safe, validated in my fears, and provided care ensuring I was comfortable and safe all throughout. The facility is well maintained and clean as well! Thank you university surgical center, should I ever need another surgery I hope to be treated here.

5 Stars for professionalism and great bedside manner from all of the staff…read more I had to go in for a routine procedure and from the moment the appointment was made by my doctor the staff impressed me. They called two days out to confirm my appointment and to go over some specifics. I really appreciated the fact that they gave me a tip to wear comfy socks and to have whomever would be accompanying me bring a sweater as the building gets very cold. I arrived 20 minutes earlier than they had requested and they got me in right away. You have to bring someone with you to take you home as you'll be under general anesthesia and they make sure that person is comfortable as well. They have my 'designated driver' a pager so that she could sit in the larger, more comfortable waiting area on the first floor and be notified as soon as the procedure was over. They also let that person wait with me after I got hooked up to an IV so I wouldn't be bored. In terms of the nurses, they were great! They were calm and friendly and kept making sure all of us patients were warm and doing alright while we waited. Another hot blanket? Yes, please! I'm very squeamish around needles and they decided to use a baby needle since I'm a tiny person. They also chatted with me and helped distract me while they hooked me up. (They told me about the one time one very funny patient wrote HAPPY BIRTHDAY on his body so that when his doctor started the procedure he'd be surprised on his birthday! Was I already a bit loopy? Yes. Was that hilarious and did it take my mine off of the needle in my arm? You betcha!) One suggestion I would give would be to add signage by the street. I had a hard time pinpointing the building since the only sign is on the front doors- not visible from the entrance to the parking lot or from the street. I don't remember much else, but I wouldn't hesitate to return if need be as they took great care of me!

Highly disappointed with OneMed's s customer service…read more As a new patient, I chose Dr. Patel based on a trusted recommendation. After calling and leaving a message for clarification about a medical order, I never received a return call. When I called back later that day, I was simply told I needed to schedule an appointment to speak with the doctor. The office is over 30 minutes from my home, so it's not as if I can just stop by to resolve a communication issue. Like many large practices, everything goes through a call center, making it nearly impossible to reach the office directly. Florida has no shortage of medical providers. Customer service is what separates exceptional practices from mediocre ones, and this experience has been disappointing. I'm posting this in the hope that it gets the attention of the front office. I'll update my review if the situation is resolved.

She has an incredible attention to detail and is extremely thorough with her examinations. I always appreciate her willingness to explain things to me and how she is always ensuring that I understand what is happening and my options. I also appreciate that the practice offers mental health services in addition to primary care. I feel like having it all under one roof makes that referral and ability to connect to the right resources so much easier! Scheduling is also super easy! They are always able to find a time to get me in which I like! The front desk staff is so friendly and able to help answer questions whenever they come up. I have been here in regard to what feels like all things obstetrics and gynecology- from the depths of figuring out infertility to recently having our first baby! The providers and staff are so friendly, supportive and caring! Something that I really like about this practice is that is it an all women practice, from the staff and techs to the doctors, everyone is a woman who cares about women's health! The facility itself is clean and gives off a trendy spa like atmosphere. I primarily saw Dr.Hassan, and absolutely love her! She always made sure I felt heard, presented me options and was always willing to spend the extra few minutes with me to make sure I understood everything and every question was answered. Dr.Hassan is always so friendly and supportive, truly making conversations at appointments feel like you are catching up with a friend over lunch which I loved! All of the other doctors here were just as amazing and I always feel well respected and cared for. I really appreciate their on call phone line for evening and weekend support. When I was pregnant I did use it once and Dr.Gabriel happen to be on call, she was so helpful and supportive. I had called in the middle of the night regarding a concern and even though I didn't have an appointment with her, the next time I was in the office she made sure to stop by to check in on me before I left. Truly going above and beyond! The office staff is so lovely, and made coming to my appointments while pregnant so much more enjoyable! I was always greeted with a smile and a warm conversation. We had one nurse in particular in recovery named Richard who was a godsend. He was not only attentive to my daughter but he checked on us just as much. He understood, being a dad himself, how hard this could be for my 1.5yr old and the parents too. He cracked jokes with us, gave us advice and reassurance and really cared about making me daughter feel comfortable and safe. An extra bonus to the overall exceptional experience was this amazing App the hospital created called Ease. This app allowed us to get videos, pictures and message updates regarding the procedure while we waited. Not only that, but it allowed us to add other phone numbers to the app so those people could download the app as well. It gave us the opportunity to add our family in FL, NY and even TX to recieve updates. It took the pressure off as a parent having to keep close family members in the loop while emotionally keeping it together. I loved the app and think this is something all hospitals should utilize. It made the time go by fast and have be peace of mind while it was happening.

She runs a tight ship and Tom Pham is also very knowledgeable and caring. The staff here is also very welcoming and efficient. My only disappointment is that they stopped taking Saturday appointments which was a really awesome service. However they are still open on Saturday 9-2 for walk-in patients. I don't think the current score on Yelp accurately reflects the business. I don't normally do reviews but did one for them because I saw that they had a lower score that the one they deserve. Someone actually gave them one star because they arrived late and they had stopped taking patients for the day. Every doctors that excepts walk-in closes their door 15 minutes before the clinic closes or the doctors won't be able to leave.

After she ran off her ONLY PA's (that were caring for me under her), In her words, "You are a 30 minute patient and I only have 10 min per patient find someone else." She failed to provide continuity of care, a referral to another doctor, or any additional assistance. In my most serious time of need, she abandoned me due to the complexity of my case. In her words, "Everything wrong with you! Go somewhere else." I was seeing her PA's Tom Pham & Drew Reynolds but they walked out the same week without giving her notice. According to her staff, due to her anger issues they finally had enough. I had been there when she and Tom would scream & yell at each other and it was kind of scary & very unprofessional but I just thought it was an isolated incident and didn't dwell on it. Everyone has their bad days. However, I was continuing to get more sick & PA Drew wouldn't order certain tests & medication due to her disapproval of his thinking outside the box ways. She had control issues clearly but when it affects patient outcomes that's when it's more than concerning. Once her only PA's walked out, she was juggling both the Lake Nona & Dean Rd locations as the ONLY MD/provider until she hired Deann Le. However, Deann would only prove to back Dr Nguyen's conduct by also offering no assistance stating, "According to Dr Nguyen, you have to go somewhere else for your care." As it turns out, I now have been told that I have multiple overlapping autoimmune diseases & related complications due to the delay of care & for lack of care continuity. If you value your life or that of your loved ones, please go to a provider who WILL not limit your visits based on money alone but rather, a responsible physician. I found Dr Sarah Siddiqui and I'm thankful that I did. She's also in Lake Nona. I don't leave a serious review like this lightly. I finally left it in the hopes of maybe saving someone else from the nightmare that my family has had to endure due to her negligence. If you're really complex I can also recommend UF Health Shands in Gainsville (I was there for 2 weeks) and/or a referral to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville (went there as well for 4 months).

Review of Jose Sarriera, MD - Orlando Health Cancer Institute…read more I am extremely disappointed and disturbed by my experience with Jose Sarriera, MD. I want to specifically identify the physician involved because my concerns are about my personal interaction with Dr. Sarriera and should not reflect on other physicians or staff members who were not involved. I attended an oncology appointment with someone I love who is battling multiple myeloma. I came prepared with legitimate questions about her treatment, progress, and future care. Instead of having a respectful conversation, I experienced Dr. Sarriera as dismissive, condescending, antagonistic, and lacking the compassion that I believe should be fundamental when dealing with cancer patients and their families. While I was asking questions, Dr. Sarriera became visibly irritated, threw his hands up while speaking, and communicated with me in a manner I found extremely disrespectful. I specifically asked him not to speak to me that way. What happened next was even more concerning. During this interaction, he told the patient that she could essentially receive treatment somewhere else. In my opinion, that is an unacceptable thing to say to a cancer patient in the middle of a disagreement involving questions about her medical care. Patients and their loved ones should be able to ask questions without feeling that doing so could threaten their relationship with their treatment team. When I recognized that I was becoming angry with the way I was being treated, I made the decision to remove myself from the situation and leave the room. Rather than allowing me to simply walk away, Dr. Sarriera stood up, opened the door, and made a remark about helping me leave. I experienced his behavior as sarcastic and deliberately antagonistic at a moment when I was actively trying to de-escalate the situation. What disturbed me most was the overall attitude I experienced. I walked away feeling as though questioning him was viewed as a challenge to his authority rather than a normal part of advocating for someone you love. No physician's credentials or position should place them above treating patients and their families with basic dignity and respect. Medical knowledge is obviously essential in oncology, but so are compassion, patience, humility, communication, and professionalism. Cancer patients and their families are already dealing with fear, uncertainty, and tremendous emotional stress. They deserve an environment where they can ask difficult questions, seek clarification, and advocate for themselves without being belittled, antagonized, or made to feel unwelcome. I have formally reported this interaction to management because I believe what occurred deserves to be reviewed. This review represents my personal experience and observations during my interaction with Jose Sarriera, MD. Based on that experience, I cannot recommend him.
