Never been motivated to review a medical facility (or look at reviews before going to one) - but all that has changed. If you go to this location, definitely note that the paid parking is CASH ONLY. If you are taking someone with a disability, let them out right their at the front entrance (designated only for dialysis patients), because the parking is underground. And, while the on-line process of making the appointment is very easy and professional- the staff was not in my experience. Unprofessional, unsympathetic and rude. Neither of two woman at the desk speak clearly, except when they were trying to talk over me at the end and make me feel stupid. They did a lot of mumbling among themselves in front of my friend and I. Instantaneous attitude because I was late - and it was just as much their fault as mine. I didn't have all my information, though I had thought I was prepared - since the office was Not busy (no one in the waiting room except one other person the whole time we were there between 11:50 and noon), they really could have been kinder or more patient with me, a first-timer. I'm writing this so that if you are the next first-timer, you can really be prepared and not get badly treated.
And again - I was late, about 20 minutes late, because we had to park across the street, and because when I went to Suite 203 (in their address), I was re-routed by a shaky hand-written note on the door that said go to Suite 314. I have respiratory problems, so the extra walking took forever. No, not everything was a their fault, but could they have had some sympathy for me? The woman took one look at the clock, asked what time was my appointment and immediately got contrary. Then she asked for insurance info, got more attitude and I heard her mumble to another worker, "do you want to deal with this?"
And I guess usually a doctor will order a test for you and then send you to the office to have it done. But if you are like me and are told to make the arrangement yourself - here's what I found out. you cannot really order your own tests, they MUST be ordered by your doctor or healthcare professional. So, if you register an account on-line, you must take the additional step of getting the necessary forms from your doctor or have the doctor fax it over for you ahead of time. You will need to have that along with insurance information for the appointment, or they will have a BIG attitude.
So, just to recap, bring CASH, be on time, bring your order forms from the doctor, and your insurance information. Also, the side of the building that looks like the front entrance (with the big number on it) isn't the entrance. That door is locked - you have to enter through the door on the left side. You'll see if you go.
I learned a lot today, but will NEVER go back to the Mission Hills location.. read more
