She did not communicate with me about my concerns with needles and instead went right into sticking me. I could feel how hard she went in, and she verbally told me she "popped my vein" while still trying to draw blood. She then went to get another lady, who was very nice and communicative with me about the procedure. She used my other arm and drew blood beautifully with no pain--I only felt a tiny prick, no digging in my arm. She talked to me about her son who works at Applebee's and how her children are in college, which really helped ease my mind. I told her I did not have a great experience the last time, and she apologized to me, showing genuine concern. I hope they do something about that older white lady who works there--she is very rude to patients. I've heard her attitude in the waiting room, where she was yelling at a Hispanic mom and daughter who came in with an envelope from the doctor needing care. The front desk was confused, but this lady came out expressing so much attitude that it made me uncomfortable. I even told myself, "I hope I don't have this lady draw my blood," but she did--and she popped my vein. Now I have a bruised arm and had to take Tylenol when I got home for the pain. I wouldn't say to NOT go here but if your uncomfortable with Somone's attitude don't let them in your personal space.

I've gone in multiple times feeling miserable, in clear distress, and every single time I've been told "it's just a cold." That line is their go-to -- no matter what your symptoms are, how much pain you're in, or how obvious it is that something's wrong. I once went in with pneumonia -- and what did they say? "It's just a cold." I have an autoimmune disease, and misdiagnosing something like pneumonia in someone like me is not just careless -- it's dangerous. If I hadn't persisted and pushed for an X-ray, I never would've known I had it. Most recently, I went in with a severe ear infection. I had intense pain, pressure, and thick yellow drainage, and it hurt to swallow on one side. They ran the most basic two swabs -- COVID and strep/flu -- and nothing more. The doctor was in the room with me for maybe two seconds before brushing me off yet again with, "It's just a cold." It's not okay to send people home without proper care, especially when they're repeatedly coming in for the same symptoms. Their negligence could have led to serious complications if I hadn't followed up elsewhere. I'm so tired of being dismissed here. People deserve better healthcare than this. The nurses and technicians were thoughtful and professional. The experience was pain-free. The facility was clean. I recommend checking-in online to avoid any delays at the admittance windows (which also was quick and efficient). This was the second set of scans I've had at MIoF and both were equally positive.
