Due to insurance changes I've been to many different labs over the last few years. After scheduling an appointment with Quest Diagnostics I yelped them and was horrified by the reviews. Needless to say I was not looking forward to my appointment. I was pleasantly surprised when I walked into the clean and spacious office. All of the staff were attentive and pleasant. The wait was not long and the individual rooms for drawing blood were clean comfortable and spacious. The phlebotomist was friendly and accurate while drawing 7 vials of blood. 8am Early morning first hour for "VIP care through our new Peace of Mind program" reserved for 60 year old or high risk underlying conditions doesn't work. It's not the Quest Diagnostics fault, it is the fault of YOU all in the horde of walk-ins (lined up through the hallway and out the door onto the balcony area). When you walk-ins line up early you are only to be told that you have to make an appointment or wait in the car to be called when there is time to fit you inside The waiting room is only for the appointments, and there are only three chairs in there. Meanwhile, I had to wait in that long line of walk-ins with my high risk underlying condition getting exposed to all of them for my 8am appointment which was supposed to be the "peace of mind" appointment hour. I had no peace of mind the entire time with all those walk-in people around. I had to line up with them just to be able to get in the waiting room for my appointment. If you need low contact due to high risk underlying condition, go later than the 8am time, giving Quest time to clear out all the 'walk-ins' from the balcony and hallway for your VIP first hour. Otherwise you will NOT have peace of mind. The technicians are very good, and made effort to help get the standing order for my blood draws straightened out. Very limited parking and it doesn't matter if I made an appointment which I specified when signing in, it's still first come, first serve so what's the purpose of an appointment when the people in front of me has no appointment? I finally got to piss in a cup 45" after my appointment and was the last one there. Don't come between 12-1:30pm because they break for lunch so you have to wait there a loooong time! I went here for blood testing today, it was fast, quick and efficient . My experience was pleasant. But that's not what I'm here to talk about, i was the only person in the office when i walked in and then an older couple about 70 walked in after me, i had an appointment and checked in on the iPad so checking in was a breeze for me. The older gentleman getting his blood test was trying to check in and was uncertain if he had an appointment or not because his doctor must've just sent him right over and the receptionist was snappy and very unhelpful. He didn't know what to do and how to use the iPad for check in and she wasn't very helpful and seemed annoyed he didn't know how to check in and wasn't sure what to give her for insurance.. he's an older man and just needed some help and guidance and it broke my heart to see him struggling and have a snooty receptionist acting like she's bending over backward to help him.. I get it's probably annoying having people come in unprepared but he's just an old man, have some patience and respect !! Other than that my visit was pleasant. Poor management. I made a walk-in appointment online with an estimated 15 minutes wait time. I was confirmed thru text message. Once arrived, I checked in with the girl that took temperature checks and was confirmation to go back to my car and wait for a text message to come back when they're ready for me. A little over an hour later I come back to check my status and the original girl that checked me in was not there. They informed me that they were not taking walk ins after 9am and that their site has NOT been updated due to management. Management needs to disable that option online to prevent misinformation. I've wasted an hour waiting in my car for NO REASON... this could've completely been avoided if I was informed correctly upon checking in... waste of MY TIME. Horrible communication with every one working there. I would put zero stars if I could. What they could've done was still take me in anyway but not even that. Office seemed to be understaffed since only one girl was working the front desk and getting orders from the computer. read more

The staff here is very rude, lazy, and unhelpful. They even close earlier than the time indicated on the plate. I came here after my doctor in the same building ordered me a blood test. The nurse rushed me to get here because it was close to their lunch break. And I made it just few minutes before their closing time! BUT THE DOOR WAS LOCKED. There was somebody inside but they completely ignored my knocks. There was no line of patients and the place was empty. There is no reason to close earlier (unless they sabotage) or not answering to a patient standing outside. I will never come to this location. This was my 3rd visit to a Quest today, and by far, they've been the BEST!!! I had to fast for my visit, and had to do a walk-in. After waiting over 2hrs at the first Quest in Garden Grove, I decided to try the one in Westminster next. The Quest in Westminster off Brookhurst was absolutely horrible! I hate leaving bad reviews but I definitely had to write a bad review on theirs. This one in Fountain Valley were by far the best one I've experienced yet. Their staff was super friendly! I was actually greeted! What a relief. Lol I appreciated their time so much especially being a walk-in. You'll never know how long you'll be waiting for because patients with appointments do get priority. They were really reassuring and luckily I didn't have to wait very long. Also, normally whenever I go get blood tests done, my veins are really hard to find and I ALWAYS get poked on average 4-5 times. I wish I was exaggerating. =[ Here, it only took them once! I sure had a lucky day!! Lol Thank you Quest of FV for turning my day around! I cannot express how truly thankful I am. I found out about Quest Diagnostics through school, and my experiences here were great! Before you go, MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! When I went, I would wait less than 5 mins, whereas I saw other walk ins wait 30mins (It tells you on the screen). Also, don't be like me and be prepared!! When I went for a drug screening, I had no idea what the order number was, cause I did it through Complio with my school. If you're a student doing it through Complio, just click "print receipt" and the order number is at the bottom. I also had my blood drawn, and they called my a-hole doctor to make sure all the tests were correct. (Make sure you have an order form before you go, because I didn't know) Everyone here was soooo nice and patient with me, so thank you! Especially Andres, he was so kind every visit. I hate needles, but he made it feel painless! Both the drug screen and blood draw were very fast. Also for the drug screen, make sure you don't pee before you go, cause I didn't produce enough urine and had to drink 2 cups of water and wait longer. Hope this helps anyone out! And I would definitely come back and recommend this location to others! read more

It's usually a 10-20 minute wait. Last time I went, I waited an hour on a fasting draw, not fun ! But I totally understood because there was only 1 phlebotomist. They're quick when you're actually in the seat. read more

So here is the situation I came here for a blood test and they are completely understaffed. There's only one person drawing blood and one receptionist. Now, I am the most understanding person in the room, but at some point enough is enough. Hire some new people for God Sake!! read more

Thankfully I had great service at this Quest Diagnostics in Fountain Valley. I was in and out within 30 minutes. They didn't miss a beat. The front desk staff were not overly friendly, though they were courteous, respectful and helpful. My paperwork was processed, insurance coverage verified and accommodated my request to send the results to multiple doctors. It was an unusual situation in that my doctor ordered a slew of blood tests, some of which required special handling (temperature control of blood tubes, timing, etc), some had to be done at their regional lab in San Diego. I'm very grateful they did all the detailed work so all of the tests were done correctly. When I asked the tech about the process (because in the past in a different lab my blood tests were messed up - nightmare), he answered all of my questions. The blood tubes that needed to go to San Diego actually were driven to a center in the north LA valley, then driven down to San Diego within hours. I highly recommend making an appointment ahead of time. You can call the local lab, use their online website, or phone customer service to not only make an appointment but also get help in selecting the best location for your situation. For example, not all labs handle complex blood tests. You can also receive your lab results online when you set up a personal account. Their online website, customer support and corporate office are excellent. I've used these services a couple times the past two years. Once I filed a formal complaint against personnel at a different location for totally atrocious lack of respect. They took my complaint very seriously and followed up with that location office as well as me. Also, last year I ended up with a large balance which I didn't expect and they presented me with several options. They offer a reduced fee for very low income status. All and all, I advise to do your homework ahead of time to make for a smooth lab diagnostics experience. Unfortunately it's hard to the background work when you're not feeling well, but it's well worth the upfront effort. read more

I was sent here by my doctor to get blood taken, and this was the worst experience I have had so far. I am not a fan to begin with, and made that clear to the Asian lady that was taking my blood. She jammed the needle in my arm and every time she changed the vile it hurt like a bitch. If you don't like to get your blood taken I highly suggest not going here, or stay clear of the Asian lady. This is literally the worst place to wait to get blood work done. I've been waiting here for over an hour with no one else in the waiting room. It seems like they have no idea what they are doing up there. The lady who barely speaks English ask me the stupidest questions which pro longs getting things done here. Kathleen, the managing phlebotomist, is excellent! She is all about patient care. At my last visit, Kathleen informed me my standing order had expired. As she picked up the phone, she mentioned it would take just a minute to have a new one faxed over from my physician. It took all of thirty seconds to remedy. This has not been my experience at other Quest Diagnostics locations. Kathleen is very efficient. She's a star. All in all, I've had good experiences with each and every phlebotomist at this location. The only negative is the parking. read more

If I could rate less than 1 star, I would. I went here yesterday for a simple blood draw after visiting a doctor in the same building. When I walked in, there was one person in the waiting room and one signing in ahead of me. I thought it would be quick since blood draws take such little time. Well, was I wrong. They had a person at the desk who was on the phone for about 10 minutes and one other person working. The other technician was calling people to get insurance info and Drs orders. Turns out, she was also the only one drawing blood. As I waited, many more people came in, almost all were walk ins, like me. 2 people came in who had scheduled appointments online at ' the other quest diagnostics in the hospital' but the office closed before their appointments and the scheduling system had still let them schedule! Well, after an hour passed ( yes, seriously an hour) it was my turn . Why they would be so inefficient as to have the person who draws the blood also doing the paperwork is beyond me. I'm still baffled as to what the person who sat at the desk actually did since she didnt do paperwork nor draw blood. Never again..... read more

Ten people ahead of me when I signed in Friday 8:07 am. Blood drawn at 9:40 am. Front desk handled paperwork impersonally. Front desk unmanned for a while. Office was very cold, full of people, many of whom were coughing. Noticed people who came after me were treated and left. Asked phlebotomist at desk why my wait was 1.5 hours and the list with my name was no longer there. She said only two people in back and wait will be long. Five minutes later I asked second phlebotomist whether they could have overlooked me. She looked at paperwork on the desk and quickly ushered me in. My fasting blood was drawn after a two-hour wait. If you are diabetic and have not had anything to eat since 9 the previous night, have your blood drawn elsewhere unless you have an appointment. I had attempted to make an appointment online but only appointments for the week started at 10 am. The parking lot is full by that time. read more
