I saw other people go ahead of us with later appointments. Turns out they had "computer issues" which is fine. What is not fine is the last of communication and respect for people's time. This is not the first time I had terrible experience about my visit here. But the phlebotomists or whatever you call them- are the issue most of the time. Not that they have poor skills, but because they sometimes sit in the front desk, and as soon as you approach them, they're already rude and feel like they don't have time for you. Any question you ask- it's like they can't be asked a question! They need to be taught how to do receptions job! Or how to provide good rapport to patients. Only 1 lady was thorough and seems calm while giving instructions. The rest of them--- couldn't seem to handle such stress when patients are piling up, end up being rude to clients/patients. USE A DIFFERENT LAB SERVICE IF YOU CAN If you have at least 2 hours to wait for physician requested blood work that requires fasting then come here. Even with an appointment you will wait an extended period of time. Quest has closed two other locations so this is the best they have in Elk Grove. Many issues with website scheduling. It gives you dates and times that are open but when selecting it won't let you proceed. No customer service to talk to someone if you have questions. I had to take my mom's sample to them. My mom is 90. I checked in on the KIOSK and was given a number. I noticed that everyone else was being called by name. After 40 minutes I asked if I could just drop off the sample. They informed me I needed to make an appointment - which the KIOSK did not say I needed to make an appointment. Why would I have to make an appointment to drop off a sample? Lots of frustrated people in the lobby. Not a great place and very poor customer service. read more

Have received lab services from this location a handful of times and always received swift, professional service. However yesterday I observed a scene that was just horrible, albeit unintended I am sure. Person went to the window when the parents name was called. The Quest employee loudly (no malice, it's how they call communicate) shared that the parent (actual patient) had an outstanding balance and asked if the family wanted to satisfied the balance today. Embarrassed, the patient's adult child began saying in return, "You don't need to yell out our business, this is a HIPPA violation, you shouldn't be saying our business out loud!" The employee replied (in the same loud tone) that she wasn't sharing private information and just wanted to know if they wanted to pay the balance today. Patients daughter continued to be verbally upset about feeling that a HIPPA violation occurred. While I don't agree, because there was no patient name, diagnosis, or referring physician mentioned, the nature of the communication was certainly confidential. It would have been simple to call the person closer to the window or lean in and share there was an outstanding balance. I blame Quest leadership, not the employee. Quest, do better. There is a way to communicate sensitive information that doesn't involve the entire (full) waiting room, upset a family and unnerve the employee of clearly doing what she felt was an appropriate/best practice way to serve a client. The person at the window helped me next and was clearly rattled by the exchange that she was overly kind to me. Right or wrong, it was disheartening that the employee did not apologize to the person whose account (balance) information was just shared across the entire waiting room. Even if the employee did as instructed by Quest, the customer experience was affected and that alone warranted acknowledgement. I hope Quest's HR sees this review, please train your staff on how to do engage customers on potentially sensitive topics while allowing them to maintain privacy and dignity. read more

Our family likes coming to this quest for bloodwork. Wait times are usually really short. The people who take your blood are all super nice and make you feel comfortable. The lady who works the front desk... ehhhh not so much. She speaks really loud if you don't speak English.. and doesn't offer any help just points to the screens to check in. But other they that this place is the best for bloodwork. 5 stars for the people who take your blood. 0 for the lady who works the front. read more

This is the WORST lab draw place I have ever experienced! The last two times I came, they lost my paperwork between check-in and lab draw, so even with an appointment, I waited almost 30 min. Then this trip, I checked in, and my check in was lost, so I waited amost 40 minutes. Super super super slow. No matter what time of the day you come their is people waiting in the waiting room for a long time. You have an appointment or walk in ( which apparently they don't do anymore) it's a forever thing. I sit here for almost 1 hour every time because it the closest to my doctors office. Took my mom in for a urine analysis. My poor mom was feeling so bad, I begged them to let her just drop a urine sample. All tbey had to do was print label and put it on a collection cup, but because she didn't have an appointment they couldn't do it. Didn't even bother to look for her order. I explained to them that her treatment depends on this test. The lady was so rude and dismissive. Helping someone in pain and miserable was not down her alley. Very sad and disappointing read more

Absolutely abysmal, run worse than a dog kennel, in fact you will think that is where you are when walking in. Always short handed with no visible attendant when you walk in and a large room with a small amount of chairs where most people have to wait standing. When many folks go to a lab they are in no condition to stand. If someone who is hiding behind a barrier can be talked to it is not friendly and mostly condescending. Even my doctor says they are having a lot of complaints about the unfriendly environment and the lack of available techs. when I walked in I had to go to a kiosk and answer a lot of questions on a touch pad and then insert my drivers license, yes I said my drivers license. then I was given an appointment that was four hours away. Are you kidding. it would seem that people like dignity health really have no dignity if they insist you use Quest. The only Quest they should be on is how to run a medical lab, and how to treat folks who are usually patients. I have moved to Sutter which is a dream compared to this animal farm. read more

Wait time is ridiculously way to long even with appointment. The lab that was on Wymark was much better wait time was good and staff were friendly.. lady's at front desk don't greet people as they walk in. I was recently at quest and they have three tablets to check in once you arrive. As the lady checked me in via tablet she told me they clean them often. I sat and as I waited to be called back not one time was the tablets cleaned. They should have sanitizer wipes for patients to use prior to using the tablets, to help germs from spreading. read more

Just checked in today for a lab check up appointment at Quest Diagnostics (Elk Grove Location) and was not really liking the procedures of how they ran and did things. When it was my turn to get checked, the doctor seemed very unprofessional. Things got a bit more concerning when it came time for him to take my blood sample, which I noticed right off the bat that he used the same gloves from the start of when he called me to the end point of when he was about to take my blood. He was typing and moving the mouse of his computer with those same gloves for a few minutes (you don't know who was touching that keyboard and mouse before and can be full of bacteria) then proceeded to rip open a alcohol wipe and wipe down the area of my arm in which blood was going to be withdrew from. I wasn't sure if his dirty gloves touched the area in which he wiped down my arm with, but soon afterwards he started drawing blood and got a closer look at his glove and noticed that it was slightly dirty with dark stains. With the coronavirus and flu being at its highest peak right now and health safety being important in general, this should be common sense procedure to change out gloves after each patient which I highly doubt he did. I just hope I don't get sick from this check up. Trying to be as brief as possible here, but health professionals at Quest Diagnostics need to be more clean with their work stations and take safety precautions, not only for themselves but for their patients too. read more

Today was the worst service EVER. It states on the website and on the prerecorded phone message that appointments are not needed. Two weeks ago the hours from 7a.m-8am were for Seniors 65 and over. Today I showed up at 7:10 and they were sending people home, very rudely telling everyone with no appointment to leave and come back when they make an appointment. They even ushered out an elderly gentleman in a wheel chair whose medical van driver had left!! I came back at appointment time and then within minutes after my blood test was completed I received a text telling me to return to the "draw center to pick up your collection". I had a blood test so what does that even mean? They won't respond to the text message and their phone is only a recording. There is NO WAY to communicate with them. I have no idea why I should drive all the way out there for the 3rd time today. I will never use Quest again read more

Disaster. Quest Diagnostics needs to get it together. Why have a online registration for walk ins if it doesn't cut down the wait time at all? My biggest qualm with the company as a whole is their poor website management. I waited in line from 6:45 to 7:30 am only to be told they don't accept walk in before 8. No signage, no notice on the website. Why the hell did it let me register online if I was going to be turned away? That is idiotic. Overall a waste of my morning and made me late for NO reason. I guess people with jobs can go screw themselves because their hours are awful and impractical. I will now have to reschedule my doctors appointment because I can't get my labs done to evaluate my autoimmune disorder. They are booked out so far that a walk in was my only option, yet apparently that isn't an option at all unless you are able to wait 2+ hours. I understand Covid is a nightmare (Thanks Newsom) but they are a medical facility and seriously need better management. I'm beyond aggravated with them at this point and they have a monopoly on the entire testing market, so going elsewhere isn't even an option.
