I'm giving this Quest Diagnostics location on San Bernardino Rd in Covina five stars. I've been here more than ten times at this point, and honestly my experiences have consistently been smooth and efficient despite what some of the other reviews say. I think timing really matters here. I never come in for fasting labs and I almost always book afternoon appointments, which I suspect avoids the morning rush. Most of the time I'm able to get a next day appointment, and today I even got a same day slot, so it's hard for me to complain when the scheduling has been that convenient. The phlebotomist experience can be a bit hit or miss. Sometimes they're chatty and friendly, other times it feels very quiet and strictly by the book. That doesn't bother me though. I'm not there to make friends, and as a healthcare worker myself I get that they see a high volume of people and need to keep things moving. They're always clear and thorough with instructions, which I actually appreciate, especially since I'm not the biggest fan of blood draws on myself. Sometimes it hurts, sometimes it doesn't, but overall the process is quick and professional. The online check in system is a huge plus. It can feel a little tedious since they ask for a lot of information, and I'll probably just make an account to make it easier next time, but once you get the text and check in on your phone, you don't even need to use the kiosk. Even when my name didn't show up on the waiting screen, I was still the next person called. This location is super convenient to my home, the care feels standard and solid, and even when I've had to cancel appointments it's never been a big issue. For me, this place does exactly what it needs to do, and it does it well. read more

Got my blood drawn here the other day. I don't like that. No one helps you in the front. It's all just a screen to check in. So if you're an older person and you don't know how to use computers you're screwed.. I had checked in and then left because I have forgotten my insurance card so I think they called my name when I left, but I eventually got helped. read more

Most times, they call the "victim" within 10 minutes of the appointment time, never on time. Today, Friday, it's a full house. So far 45 minutes behind schedule. How does this happen? If you need for blood drawers, hire more staff. This is no way to run a business. read more

This is a very 50/50 review, I personally had a great experience, the nurses were very sweet and gentle, I was in and out very quickly and as I'm super sensitive they were very caring and acknowledging to me being pregnant. I almost passed out because I get very nauseous with blood but the nurses let me sit and recuperate for as long as I needed. But for the check in process I understand why some people are upset there is nobody to help you at the front, you have to check in through an iPad which might be hard for elder people or people who don't understand. The place was extremely crowded and they were in there for a while but they did do a walk in appointment so I'm not sure what they expected. Best advice , make an appointment, use your manors and you should be good and on your way very quickly. read more

I hate Quest now. Expecting customer service? Forget it. They've now turned all the offices into prison like rooms with grey walls and kiosks to check in. There's no way to get help if you need it unless you can catch an employee when they come out to call someone for their turn. Recently I booked both myself and my son for appointments at the same date/time. I checked in online and didn't realize it only checked in myself. I asked the staff member when she called me to make sure my son was next and she said she would check after she finished with me. Once she did, she said he wasn't checked in and I had to go back outside to the kiosk to check him in. By the time this happened, it said his appointment time has passed and it cancelled his appointment and he would have to wait as a walk in (30-60 min wait). I ended up having to make another appointment for him for another day. We arrived on time but still had to wait 25 min for him to be seen. Unfortunately I am at the mercy of this clinic as they have the monopoly for bloodwork services that is covered by my insurance. One star for the nice lady who helped us. This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a medical facility. I came in as a walk-in, and while I understand that means there can be a wait, there is absolutely no excuse for what happened. I waited for almost 3 hours and was completely ignored the entire time. No updates, no explanations, no communication--nothing. The staff made no effort to acknowledge the wait or manage patients. What's even worse is that they were about to close, and I still hadn't been helped. That is completely unacceptable. Being busy is not an excuse for treating people like their time doesn't matter. The lack of organization, professionalism, and basic respect here is shocking. If you can't handle walk-ins, then don't accept them instead of letting people sit there for hours with zero communication. I would strongly discourage anyone from coming to this location unless you're prepared to waste hours of your time and be completely disregarded. read more

Reading Corporate's pathetic response to endless complaints is disgusting. You can obviously see they could careless... forward this to our support team so they can follow-up with staff that's too dam funny surrrrrrrre you will! My husband received same rude, aggressive, berating experience. Only Difference he called them out on their rude aggressive attitude and they did not like it. Patients have Rights!!!!! THIS is my first yelp review, I never ever write them. BUT this was one HELL of an experience. Walked in to drop off a sample for my daughter and followed the directions on their system. Shortly after an incredibly rude woman comes out to tell me I need to check in correctly because I'm a walk-in. She walks me through a process as if it was myself giving a sample or getting my blood drawn. I ask how long do I have to wait, if she can give me a time estimate and she comes back at me snarky saying she couldn't give me one. I ask if it was going to be 30 minutes to an hour? She continues to be snarky with me from then on saying look around the room, it's empty. You're not going to be waiting long but if someone comes in right now with an appointment they go first. Then she looks at my slip for my daughter and complains that it's going to take the person assisting me forever because they have to hand type all of the codes. (In which case, they didn't. They just scanned it.) In all honesty her going back and forth with me took longer than the process of the lady taking care of my service inside. WILL BE AVOIDING QUEST AT ALL COSTS from now on. We scheduled an appointment for my mom and the registered name is correct. They had called a name similar to my moms at about the time of her appointment and I double-checked asking if she was really looking for that name. I had to ask another employee that happen to be in the waiting room to doublecheck for me, and indeed she called the wrong name and already took another patient. Now we're waiting for that patient to be finished. Not happy that they are not accurately checking their information, especially with healthcare. They changed 1 letter of my mom's name and called for someone else. And now we're waiting past our appointment for their mistake. What's the point in accurately entering information on our side and then they make a mistake? We have other things planned based off of the appointment time and that is not quality customer service. We were called in 7 minutes after the appointment time. So now I'm in the room and the employee is telling my mom she speaks perfect English and why I'm in here. WTH? I replied I was the driver, and she says then I should wait in the car. WTH? She was like, we're not going to give any information and results will go to the doctor. Uh, duh! I know that. And she continues to call me Mr. Driver. She seems to kid around more with my mom, so I wasn't sure if the gal was just joking around. Made a last minute appointment online literally the night before and hoped I would be in their system the morning of. I made the earliest appointment that they had. PSA appointment only! There are no walk-ins well at least that what they said when I went. The staff at the check in may seem mean, but it's their policy. Due to COVID, they only accept people who made appointments ahead of time. For those with older parents or grand parents, please help them out, I know they may not always be the most tech savvy. Most of the people that came early stood in line and fasted and had no appointments were turned away. So don't bother coming if you don't have an appointment. You might have to look for various Quest Centers for an appointment because spots are taken up really. As for the appointment itself it was quick and easy. Just be careful not to miss it. There's no sign outside except a small one on a wall. Park, check-in on your phone, if you aren't able to check in on your phone there are kiosks in the front for you to enter your information to check in. Then they call you by your name for the blood draw. No paperwork/lab orders required. Your information is in the system. The lady who did the blood draw was nice and pleasant. Results can be found online on Quest's website in a few days. Really nice and convenient. read more

The nurse who tried to draw blood from me was not experienced enough. She would put the needle in my arm and then look for a vein ! This caused me a lot of pain. She had to pull the needle out and try my other arm. She did the exact same thing but this time the needle was deeper inside ! I am a cancer survivor and I go to the hospital all the time for blood sample and IV connections. I have never had to pass out and feel sick for a simple blood drawing, the way I felt today at this facility. I think they need to train their new nurses better!!! At one point the waiting room was empty, down to a couple of us on the standby and for at least 30 minutes, nobody was called in. I procrastinated having my labs done because I didn't want to have to take even more time off work. I searched online and learned that this Quest Lab had Saturday morning appointments so I made an appointment. When I arrived, I checked in by responding to a text I had received. Sat down for just a couple of minutes and my name was called. The young man who drew my blood was very nice and professional AND I didn't even feel the needle going into my vein. I wished I remembered his name. I had two different Dr's requesting my labs so I gave him both orders and he made sure to enter everything into the system so both would receive copies - and they did. Went through the appointment process texted we were ready and the board said we were ready to go in less then 1 minute. 20 minutes later we are still sitting waiting! I ask the receptionist who says she's still inputting paperwork for us. The receptionists are running their mouths and taking their time. This was our regular lab then I switched to lab Corp because of bad service quality. I tried to give them a chance again but looks like it's the same crappy unhappy service from the staff here. This was the first time I have been to this location. I booked my appointment online. Did the check in at the kiosk. After checking in I barely sat down and my name was called. Mind you my appointment was before 9am. Everything was a breeze. Selena was the lady who had drawn my blood she is really nice and personable. She showed me every vial of blood and had me double check to make sure my name was on each one and spelled correctly. I was a little anxious before getting to my appointment because I want to know what is going on with me health wise. I waited maybe 5 mins just scrolling through Instagram and had my blood work and urine sample completed all under 10 mins. Definitely will be coming back to continue my testing at this location. My daughter had blood drawn the other day, and this review is for one specific employee, she is probably the supervisor or the one in-charge that day. As soon as she opened the door, she was already yelling at how the procedure would be getting your blood drawn. The waiting area is small, everytime there's a new person walk in, she keeps on yelling at them. Just because most of the patients were older, or Hispanics or Asians, we can understand and we can hear perfectly. Now I put the quotation marks because at most places, walk-ins are given some level of priority, a sense that you will be seen within a reasonable time. Unless of course you're at the DMV or the ER. Once you check in your name is on a screen and it shows you your wait time. The location itself is easy to find, plenty of parking in the rear and clear and visible signage to find the office itself! My queer Asian friend had an appointment at this location and kept getting passed over for walk ins, despite being there ahead of schedule. When she asked why she kept getting passed over (as her name also disappeared from the screen) they scoffed and told her to keep waiting. However, as she is also an insulin dependent diabetic, she was also becoming hypoglycemic and again informed the staff of this. Instead of apologizing or ensuring she doesn't PASS OUT, they told her she should've come earlier. This is EXTREMELY unsound healthcare professionalism. In addition, once she was FINALLY called back, they bruised her arm because the phlebotomist was extremely harsh with the needle. This location is not only UNPROFESSIONAL but also DISCRIMINATORY in their practices and should be reported to the Better Business Bureau as they way they practice healthcare is the opposite of what it should be. read more

Was there for a blood draw and the appointment I had made somehow was not in the system. The person at the front, Michael, at the Glendora, Grand Ave. branch was rude, saying I should have made an appointment (which I said I had done), and that their lunch break would be soon causing me to wait even longer. It wasn't so much the words he said, but the derogatory tone of voice. Unpleasant, cold, uncaring, demeaning, are the words that come to mind. Is this how the technicians are trained? Do they get any customer service training? I expected more from a large corporation such as Quest. And, when I stated that my name on the board kept going down on the list to be served, from 15 min, to 23, to 32, he said that that is what I got for not making an appointment. Totally inappropriate. I came here to get my sons blood drawn. The pediatrician had given me the info to this place. I made an appointment online. While online I was prompted to do the forms online to save time in the office. With everything going on, the least amount of time I can spend in the office, the better. So I filled everything out online. When we (myself, my 1 yr old son, & his dad) arrived there was one person ahead of us. We stood a safe distance away, when we approached the counter the lady was very very rude. She said that only one parent was allowed which is kind of understandable, if there was other people in the waiting room. We were the only ones. She then asked for patients name and Told me I needed to fill out papers. I told her I had done everything online and she responded "yeah. That does nothing for us. Sorry" I was confused because I had done it on their actual website. Who/where did the info go to then? She then told me my sons insurance was not accepted there. I think my short experience would have been better had she been more friendly. I don't understand why people are so rude behind the counter. read more
