Quest diagnostics at this location was much better than the one in Stamford. Unlike the other location, the waiting area has a much more open and friendly space. Check in was a breeze. The phlebotomist (Daniel) was super professional & did a great stick. Results were back within a few days & readily available. ***Did you know that you can order some of your own labs yourself ? No doctor visit or doctors order required - simply set up an online account & select from the menu of tests. The site offers packages or "a la carte" individual tests. I think it's great as a consumer to have this kind of freedom and access to healthcare and information. read more

I'm going to have to agree one another review for this place. All the good reviews are from YEARS ago! With that being said, I scheduled an appointment for my daughter to get some blood work done here at 8:30am. We arrived early around 8:10am & checked in using their self check in process. During the check in process it prompted for an ID, I didn't see an option to skip it so I scanned my ID which made sense to me being that my daughter is a minor. I always provide my ID and sign my name for my daughter at every appointment because again she's a minor & does not have an ID. Everything else during the check in process was my daughter's information (name, DOB, insurance card, etc). Let me just mention that YES I could have asked for help but there was no one there to ask for help or just to simply ask a question. The waiting room was empty, it was just me and my daughter. Once we checked in we waited maybe a minute or so before the phlebotomist "Daniel" came out & called my daughter's name. There was no good morning or hello. He looked like he did not want to be there and wasn't in the mood. We go into the first room & immediately upon entry I see my ID (big) on his screen and he ask me if I was (states my daughters name) so I looked at him and said "no I'm her mother" which obviously he should have known I wasn't the person scheduled for the blood work. He then proceeds to tell me that I should not have scanned my ID because I'm not the one having my blood drawn and that I should have skipped that question. Keep in mind it's not what you say it's how you SAY IT. I told him that she is a MINOR and that I always provide my ID on behalf of my child and I didn't see an option to skip over that part of the check in process. He says nothing and proceeds to delete my ID off of his screen and then I told him that it was too early in the morning and just looked at him. The entire time he did not look at or speak to my daughter aside from asking her to roll up her sleeve and he did that with a tone. I'm used to phlebotomist saying hello and making you feel comfortable especially if it's a kid. His demeanor alone spoke volumes and I was already at the point of no patience left because who wants to deal with a rude individual at 8:15am. When he was done there was nothing said, no you should have your results in 2-3 days, no your doctor will have the results soon, NOTHING. I didn't waste my time asking either because I was already out of patience with him. Also, I made an appointment online before going so I didn't have a long wait. They literally had no available appointments aside from the 8:30am everything else was booked apparently. We were the ONLY ones there aside from a lady that was leaving when we arrived. I find it hard to believe that everyone either canceled their appointments or no-showed. Something isn't adding up with their online appointments. You're better off walking in. read more

Avoid this location at all costs--any high ratings are years old, and there's a reason for that. I had one of the most harrowing experiences of my life getting blood drawn at this location. When I was called into the exam room I was immediately concerned. The room was cluttered with trash and haphazardly placed equipment, the surfaces were dirty, and there seemed to be no ventilation or air conditioning. It was so hot it was hard to breathe. The tech who called me in did not greet or acknowledge me in any way, she just started pulling my lab order from her computer. My doctor told me to chat with the lab because they should be able to run several tests in the same tube since she'd ordered a lot of tests, and when I requested this, the tech said that some patients have more tests and that each one would get its own tube. I then let her know that I am prone to fainting during bloodwork, and requested to lie down during the procedure and to have her use a butterfly needle if possible. I received no verbal acknowledgement for these requests, she simply went on silently preparing the test tubes. She motioned for me to sit in a different chair, still without speaking to me, and without wiping it down first. When I sat down, I saw that I was facing the open door to a very dirty bathroom that was cluttered with stored equipment. She then jostled the chair until a leg rest popped up, but would not recline it. At this point she had not said a single word to me, so even though I was nervous I asked if *she* was okay, because her behavior was just so bizarre. She said everything was fine, and since I was really trying to muscle through this appointment, I let her start drawing blood. About halfway through the process, she started yelling at me that my blood was stopping, which wasn't something I had any control over. A few minutes later I started to feel lightheaded, and let her know. She did not acknowledge me. Soon after my vision went black, and I knew I was passing out. I said this, and her response was to grunt in frustration because she still had three more tubes to draw. The last thing I remember before losing consciousness is her shouting, "she's fainting" and, for some reason, kicking a box of exam gloves that was on a side table. No one responded to her call for help. When I started to regain consciousness, she did not acknowledge me, offer me water or juice, or any kind of assistance. I went in and out of consciousness for a few minutes while she sat on her computer typing and ignoring me. When I was finally more conscious, she asked if I was going to get myself together so she could finish or not. I told her that my vision was still very blurry and I didn't think it was a good idea. Another tech came in who did not ask how I was feeling, but immediately started pressuring me to let her stick me again. At this point, since there was a witness, I said that I did not feel comfortable with this technician given the way she had ignored me throughout the process. She then started arguing and flat-out lying about her communication with me, saying that she already did me a favor by allowing me to lie down. I firmly said that I would prefer to complete my testing at another location on another day. At this point, the second tech left. I asked for a print out showing which labs had been drawn and which had not. She told me that was impossible. I asked her two more times, and eventually she did give me a print out. Throughout this process, no one showed any care or concern for the fact that I had fainted, and no one offered any assistance of any kind. As a person who knows that they are prone to passing out, I always try to communicate effectively in advance of getting bloodwork done to minimize the possibility and mitigate the effects if it does happen. The staff at this location of Quest Diagnostics behaved in a completely unacceptable manner. They treated me inhumanely, and the conditions of the lab were concerning and unsanitary. read more

I got in and out for a blood draw in seven minutes. The technician saw I had no good veins on my left arm, summarily switched to my right arm, and tapped in within seconds. The point of a place like this is to play by their rules (book online, use their little iPad to check in, and come early but not _too_ early) and you are rewarded with quick efficient service. read more

I made an appointment on the phone and it was "confirmed" via the automated system. When I arrive to my appointment, it cannot be found. They ask for a "code" or a QR code or an email - none of which I received when I made the appointment - neither was I instructed that I should have received one. End result: Appointment confirmed on the phone / no appointment when you arrive. Had to wait over an hour. They also specifically encourage / instruct you to make the appointment on the phone. WTH?? The lady at the 125th St location in Harlem was nice and calm and helpful however. I feel bad for the staff. Another customer arrived when I was there and she had the same exact issue. read more

We took my 1 year old granddaughter here today. It took us a half hour to get her ready for the cold weather, another half hour to get there. The staff greeted us cheerfully, but unfortunately couldn't help us. They couldn't find a vein large enough to take blood. So, we wasted another hour at the appointment and another hour to get home. In all, it was a whole afternoon of wasted time. Now we have to go through a similar routine to take her to the hospital. All this effort would have gone to better use if we were just told to go to the hospital in the first place. I have no idea why they even made the appointment with us. To top it off, they were closing up and rudely told us to leave! One great thing was the use of electronics to call patients in for their appointments. You enter your name in a computer and it appears on a monitor in the waiting room. You know exactly how long it will take them to call you in. read more

Ugh . I hate getting blood work . But Some phlebotomists (74th street location in bay ridge and 51st street in borough park ) make it better by making it quick and not as painful . I'm not the best patient, now I'll already tell you that . I get really scared and nervous and close my eyes and just wait for it to be done . Some young girl I didn't get her name took my blood work . I was skeptical because she looked young but you have to give everyone a chance and I didn't say anything . She was actually quite good and it wasn't super painful . I asked her if she got everything because you know I like to double check and she's like yes . I'm like do you need anything . And she's like no . I thanked her a lot and left. 2 seconds later she comes running out after me when I was ready to leave the waiting room and told me she put two labels in the back and couldn't quite get all the blood tests . I'm like seriously ?! You know I'm a difficult stick and I asked you to check ! So then she's just like sorry I mean I guess what else can you say. Abs goes for the same vein I'm like no! She's like well try lower in the same vein so I let her try and the first stick is still oozing that's how fresh it was ‍ so she gives up and tries the other side . Now I'm shutting my eyes and talking to myself like a crazy person . She finally gets it and I just left without a word. What is wrong with this generation ?! Quest on 13th St. in Brooklyn, NY, is always understaffed and always requires a long, long, long wait. Today was no exception. The one (hurried, and perhaps miserable) employee grunted but made no eye contact with any of us who were waiting...and waiting...and waiting in the small, airless and not-very-clean wait room, sharing our germs. Meanwhile folks on a cheerful TV panel in the corner talked on and on--and on--about how wonderful Quest is, and the list of patients posted to the right of the relentlessly chatting image slowly, slowly, crawled along. I've been going to this Quest location for years and am very disappointed that the quality of care has greatly deteriorated. Recently I had to pick up a home test kit. When I arrived, I was told to return in a week or so when they would have the kit. I did return, and picked up the kit. After doing the home process, I returned with the sample. The person at the site told me that I had been given the wrong kit. I would have to repeat the 24 hr process with the correct kit, which was not available at that site. Further, I was told that there is no way to know which site would have the correct kit. I would have to go to one site after another to find the kit. When I picked up the kit--the incorrect kit, that is--litter was strewn about the lab room. When the lab tech spoke with me in the lab room, he was wearing his mask below his nose. If there is a way to find a location which has the correct kit, I have not been able to find it. If there is a way to register a complaint of this nature with Quest, either online or by phone, I have not been able to find it. read more

Tonya is a phlebotomy wizard! I have notoriously hard to wrangle veins. Tonya was able to get in and get what we needed effortlessly, painlessly, and quickly, and on her first try. Amazing. She is a star. I hope that Quest recognizes what a wonderful team member they have in Tonya and support her accordingly. The office was run very efficiently with covid precautions, a friendly person checked me in to my prescheduled appt electronically and I waited less than 5 minutes to be seen. I felt the office was extremely clean and professional. Tried to make an appointment online but the website scheduling tool was out of order. There's no phone number listed on the site, so I couldn't call them to ask for assistance. The only way to contact Quest was by using their web contact form. I submitted my question asking how to make an appointment, and got a reply 5 WEEKS LATER... telling me to use the website. read more

This facility is safe and Tonya is an excellent phlebotomist. Only problem I have is the transmission of my blood test results to my drs. It has been over 3 weeks and I just had a telehealth (which I have to pay for) to discuss my blood test results....which were not available. Now, I have to pay for another telehealth after the dr calls quest for the results. Frustrated. read more

Just walking out after what is literally the best blood draw of my life. I don't remember the girl's name, black with long hair. She was so pleasant and did it so swiftly that I didn't feel a thing. This was after a horrid experience at my gastroenterologist's office where the nurse poked me 5 or 6 times, couldn't get even 3 drops of blood. So I had to come here. I am glad and I wish I had only come here instead of agreeing to get it done at the gastroenterologist's office. I don't hope to get any blood work again, just nice to see the technician who was so professional and pleasant. read more

Ok, this should be two reviews, really. I went three weeks ago for routine blood work and had a totally fine experience. No wait, competent technician (didn't feel a thing), all good. But this morning, I brought my son in for a 9:30 appointment (made on-line), only to find another patient outside the building. We buzzed and buzzed, called and called (no one answers at Quest), and then we tried the NYU office next door. The receptionist there walked down the hall -- Quest was closed. No notice, nothing. Really annoying, and now we have to make another appointment. read more

They worked in tandem to locate my hard to find vein ( I had forgotten o drink water before coming for my early morning appt). I tried my luck as a walk-in at this location and the woman who greeted me (hate that I didn't get her name) was so kind and could see that I was deeply frustrated following an awful experience at the LabCorp a few blocks away on 5th Ave. I explained to her what I needed and what had happened at LabCorp, and she immediately expressed empathy and helped me out. She then introduced me to Tonya who was a dream to work with - she was knowledgeable, friendly, and quick! Thank you so much to these wonderful humans who went above and beyond to help. LabCorp should take notes on what it means to run a business with employees who actually like their jobs and care about others. read more

This quest location is great! I've been twice and both times I haven't had to wait long to get my blood work (seated immediately the first time and waited less than five minutes the second). Staff is also super friendly, competent, and efficient. My doctor got the results in a couple days. The only thing I would say to be improved is that the appearance of the facility is a little outdated. Their chairs have seen better days. But personally I don't really care since they do their job well. If I have to get more blood work in the future I'll definitely go back! read more

I have had several bad experiences with quest in 2 different Brooklyn locations and have been going to a quest on Long Island to get my blood work done. I finally decided I was sick of traveling and had to get this done and tried this one and it was such a breath of fresh air. The staff were really nice and the place wasn't too crowded. It was well air conditioned which I really appreciated. Overall, definitely a great positive experience and it's a big relief to know I won't have to travel so far for lab work anymore. read more

Wow. Just wow. I have been coming to this location for years, nothing to sing about, but they at least they got the job done. Went in today for a 7:15 appointment, arrived on the dot, there was already a young woman with a 7am appointment waiting outside. I realized they weren't open yet. I proceeded to wait outside with the young woman for over ten minutes, during which time a man drove past us in an SUV, rolled down the window and said, "I'm looking for parking, be there as soon as I can." WTF? Finally, ten or fifteen minutes later, the man comes up, inches away from our faces WITHOUT A MASK (we are all high risk patients who made appointments between 7-8am specifically to avoid the risk of transmission... hello?) and ushers us in. The young woman who was waiting there ahead of me checked in on the check-in iPad. I checked in after her. The entire check-in system must have been confused because the technology wasn't made to deal with late employees so the guy just started calling patients out of order, in reverse order of arrival. So people who were coming in after we had already waited there for half an hour or longer were being taken care of before us. The young woman whose 7am appointment it was politely asked the man who had strolled in half an hour late if she could please go since the system was saying she was late for her appointment when clearly he was the one who was late, and she had scheduled a 7am appointment weeks ago, which would have made her the first patient of the day. He rudely dismissed her, told her to "check in and then sit down," as she tried to explain that she did check-in, and preceded to call another man who came in long after her and with a later appointment time. They were not open for my toddler's 10 am appointment on Saturday Oct 20. They confirmed the appointment. No sign. No cancellation notice. Other patients had the same issue. Unreliable service and partner. Management should be held responsible and issue apologies to all patients scheduled for that day. I'm kind of surprised by all these negative reviews. After having gone to LabCorp the last several times I had blood work (which was kind of awful), I went to Qwest this time and was impressed. It was very clean, comfortable waiting room, the folks were really nice, I was helped right away... I had absolutely no problems whatsoever. Oh yeah, except the bathroom in the hall was nasty. But otherwise, if you've got to get blood work, this is a pretty good place to do it. read more

Well, it was very easy to schedule an appointment here using their automated system but there is actually no option to speak to a live person since they seem to be saving money by having a machine answer their calls. Great place to get blood work done. Went there on Saturday at 8 am-was told by a staff member that early risers on Saturday have no line to wait on. Was greeted by Ja'minw, who was very personable, intelligent and knew what she was doing.She really cared about what she was doing and about the patients that she was working on. She did my blood test in about five minutes. Got the blood on her first attempt on my arm. Which was great for me as all other lab techs usually take about 20 minutes after jabbing my arms about a half dozen times to get the needed blood. Ja'min is a great asset to Quest Diagnostics, and early Saturday morning is the best time to go if you don't want to mess up your work schedule. Oh, by the way, I used their bathroom and despite what other reviewers say, it was clean, and well kept. read more

This place is do ghetto. The reception area makes comments about the customers openly. I found Jasmine to be a big mouth joke. The air conditioning was not working and it is a most 90 degrees outside. This was a joke to Jasmine who made several rude remarks pertaining to the air not working. I will never go back. read more

I have patronized this lab for years. Never had a problem--ever. Always in and out. I returned yesterday (Saturday) after not needing their services for several months and arrived to find a large number of people in the waiting room, a check-in system that kept changing what it was communicating to me, and a curt front person. At one point I was next in line only to be dropped to number three after 30 minutes of waiting. Yes, I was a walk-in, but I was only dropping something off. The person doing sign-in was also drawing blood, so he'd disappear for 10-15 minutes at a time after spending interminable minutes checking someone in. People ahead of me on line told me not to bother waiting if I could help it. One person told me the screen had her at "next" with a 3-minute wait for 45 minutes. It was crazy. Couldn't get questions answered, as the check-in person looked harried and frustrated. I left without making my drop-off. read more

The lab tech/phlebotomist was quick, efficient and professional. Came here because the Quest in Bay Ridge is atrocious and I was not disappointed. I probably hit it at the right time but I was in and out in 15 minutes. Even if I had to wait, it was so efficient and professional it would have been worth it. Glad I took the train here. read more
