I've been getting regular bloodwork done for the past year due to a recent Hashimoto's diagnosis. I've always had a terrible fear of needles, even as a child. After moving from Orlando, I needed to switch Quest locations. While I noticed this location had some negative reviews, I wanted to give it the benefit of the doubt--sometimes reviews can be misleading. Unfortunately, my experience here did nothing to ease my anxiety. I always try to do my part by staying well-hydrated before appointments to make the process smoother, especially since my veins are hard to find. The phlebotomist I saw didn't come across as particularly friendly or confident. From the moment she examined my arm, I had a gut feeling things weren't going to go well--and I was right. She missed on the first try, and I had to be poked again in the other arm. Not only did I leave feeling lightheaded and sick, but I also left with two bruised arms and a lingering sense of frustration. She made no effort to help calm my nerves or make the experience any less painful. I now feel torn between risking another visit to this location or gambling on a different Quest altogether. Quest is a good place to get your lab testing done. I was able to set up an appointment online easily. Check in is completed on a self serve kiosk. Need a drivers license and insurance card that are quickly scanned. Once checked in your name appears on the list on the TV screen. I was called on time and was out in a few minutes. I received notifications by email and text and was able to download the results myself, as well as them sending the results to my doc. Nice operation. read more

Quest offers blood draws and other diagnostic testing ordered by a physician. I took a family member for testing on a weekday morning at 7am. There is no longer a front desk or anyone to welcome you. There's a kiosk to sign in. The phlebotomists were very friendly when they came out to call patients and typically asked if anyone needed anything which was nice since they don't have a front desk clerk. A water dispenser would be nice in the waiting room. We waited an hour as a walk-in and never seen anyone. I must say it's very frustrating that they no longer offer any walk-in times. It's extremely unfortunate because if you have a somewhat urgent matter and they're completely booked for five weeks what is one to do! There is no reason they couldn't offer one hour in the morning and one in the afternoon for walk-ins. In the past when I've been there the phlebotomists did a good job with my blood draw. read more

WTF? Arrived 10 minutes early for my APPOINTMENT. Checked in and waited 45 minutes. My name never did appear on the list. There's nobody available to speak with to find out how far behind they are. Some lady finally came to the door and said they were down one tech. Would've been nice to let all the 45 PEOPLE WAITING!! No, seriously. There were over 45 people waiting. This is my favorite Quest location to visit when I need blood work done. I made an appointment online, so check-in was very easy. I only had to wait an extra 10 minutes, which is great for this ridiculously busy time of year in Florida. Today was my first ever experience with Denise, and she was out of this world! I told her ahead of time that I often get dizzy while giving blood and she made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire session. I really wish more phlebotomists were this compassionate! Great lab, terrific tech, was very happy with the entire experience. Highly recommend this Quest location. They even have a tv in the lobby that lets you know how close you are to be taken back for your appt. Which is great because the lobby was full. read more

Dont come to this Quest if you value your time. Every time i come here they are insanely behind on appointments. It takes usually over an hour past your appointment time to get in and they don't have service or wifi inside and never have enough chairs or parking. I would have rather driven 30 minutes to the one in Ruskin than wait here . read more

I made an appointment for routine blood work. Arrived 10 minute early and checked in. While waiting to be called back (which was 30 minutes later) a woman arrived carrying a pet dog. NOT a service dog! The dog could be heard barking during the entire time that she was in the back. When I was finally called back I noticed what looked like urine from the dog on the floor. Seriously, why did they allow a pet dog into a medical facility? Now to the actual visit. The girl that started the blood draw took me back to the room. There were multiple glass vials and other items on the floor. Then while trying to get the blood work started she had to leave the room 3 times to retrieve items that she did not have ready in the room. When I told her to draw from my left hand she ignored me and tried to get a needle into my right hand. She was unable to do this and caused me a lot of pain which lasted for days. See the picture. She finally gave up and called in another woman. This second woman was able to do the blood draw quickly and painlessly from my LEFT hand. If you wanna meet the rudest phlebotomists in the history of medicine, go here. I was a walk-in appointment and the staff there treated me like I had the bubonic plague as a result. I get it, walk-ins are not guaranteed, but their attitudes were so unprofessional. Some phlebotomist with such a final stage Karen vibe came out - gave the entire waiting room the DIRTIEST look and announced "if you don't have an appointment and are still here at 2:30 we'll have to "scoot" you out". They should be ashamed of themselves the way they treat their patients. read more

First off - don't even think about going to Quest without an appointment I made an appointment at the Palmbrush location in Bradenton FL for 8:40 and was called back at 8:45. The facility appeared clean and well organized. The phlebotomist, a young lady (Olivia) was very friendly and professional. She was excellent at her job and deserves a pat on the back. I was in and out of there in about 20 minutes. There were people there who were annoyed but again, they failed to make an appointment. read more

I'm used to Labcorp. I tried Quest because a sooner appointment was available. Completed my labs on 3/26 and they were only sent to my doctor. I met with her and discussed them. I've logged into the Quest portal several times to find my results, but they are still "in progress," which is false. There's no way to speak to a human if you call. Really frustrating, won't be back. read more

The ladies at the desk had very poor customer service skills. They talked amongst each other laughing and telling jokes while I stood there barely being aknowldeged. I tried extra hard to be nice and to be personable but was ignored as the women sat amongst each other in their own world. One the lady who was helping me took me into the room to have my blood drawn, she was very nice. She did a great job taking my blood. I wish she had been as focused on me while taking my insurance information at the front desk. The radio in the lobby is an old fashioned radio that played static. I asked a lady to change it and she did - to another station that was static. A room full of patients waiting to have to have their blood drawn and I decided to just turn the radio off. It was better to sit in silence than to listen to static! I noticed an elderly man being told to go to the 2nd window. He had not been there before. He looked confused. No one went to the door to open it for him. When he asked where the window was, the lady looked irritated and pointed at the door and said, "well, you have to go through the door!" as if he were to know. It was really rude and the man actually looked embarrassed. My heart went out to him. I wish there was someplace else as close to home to go to besides this Quest. It's only a short way up the road from me but I guess I would rather drive someplace else than deal with the unprofessionalism I witnessed at this place. read more

Had an appointment for 9:20 this morning. Due to an issue at my house I didn't get there until 9:30. Wasn't able to check in and tried to join the wait list. When I asked the girl how long it would be she shrugged and said she had no idea, an hour, and hour and a half maybe. She didn't even look at me; she was curt and rude. She clearly did not give a damn. The last time I was there (with an appointment), they put me in a room and I waited 45 minutes. They clearly had forgotten I was there because they tried to book another person into the room. I got no apology. This is the worst Quest lab I have ever been to. read more

I agree poor customer service in the front office, I was a walk in right before 3:00. I checked in at a kiosk which allowed to check in as a walk in. One other person was in the waiting area waiting for her Doctor's off to send over her lab request. I was approached shortly after 3;00. Was told they don't take any appointments after 3:10. I asked what time they closed. 4:30 was the answer. Then I was informed I would need to go on line to make an appointment. That's fine. Why do they offer the option for walk ins if they don't take them. I understand good help is hard to find....but I think this was more of making it convenient for people to leave early than taking a walk in almost 10 minutes before the 3:10 deadline. More training needed on interacting with people. I was not confrontational, just acknowledged what I was told and left. read more

RIDICULOUS!! I've had two awful experiences here and the last one did it for me. The first time I kept going by and being told it would be a hour wait so fine. I prepared myself on a day I could take a hour to wait and sucked it up and went. I had to wait in my car and my cell service in their parking lot is awful so I went back in to check and was told to keep waiting in my car. They have a system where they put names up on an electronic board (as it should appointments get priority). After almost 2 hours I went back in and was told I hadn't been added to that board yet but that she would finally add me to it and could wait inside. I waited about another 30 minutes and then got seen. The person that drew my blood was amazing! (Only positive I have). Okay, so the second time I went I was of course told a hour wait. I went to my car and after a hour went in and told I still needed to wait. After 2 hours I went in and no one was at the front desk. I stood there for about 15 minutes and then one of the phlebotomists came up. I told her the situation and she searched far back on the piece of paper that the front desk lady writes names on and found my name. She said that I had not been added to the electronic board yet for some reason, she didn't know why. I asked if she could add me and she explained the only person that can is the front desk lady and she wasn't there right now! I went ahead and left and drove home. Never received the text they send when it's almost time to be seen! So I'm guessing I would have waited all day there to not be seen!! Also if you try to make an appointment there it's 2 weeks out. I called corporate to let them know the situation and they told me they're not happy with this location because they're not even supposed to be taking walk-ins there. So pretty much I missed almost an entire day of work for nothing. I ended up going to the University Parkway location the next day. Far better there! read more

I have had some horrible experiences getting blood work since I have very small veins. If you don"t want to go home bruised, ask for Letrice. She was awesome! Had no trouble getting in and out of there. The staff was friendly, and they actually seemed to have fun working together. Will definitely go there again. read more

Customer service is lacking every time I go there. It doesn't seem to matter if you have an appointment or not.

My husband had gone here before for his bloodtests, so when I needed one, I called them and asked them if this test at their facility was covered under my insurance. They told me, yes, they work with this insurance provider all the time. I then get a bill of almost 900$ for a test that anywhere else in the world and if negotiated by the insurance in the US costs around 70$. I was told that that was the charge because their facility was out of network for my insurance provider. When I called the billing office and told them that I went to Quest because they assured me they were in network, they said that "for some plans of that insurance provider", they are in network. If they had told me this the first time, I would have checked. Now I am stuck with an incredibly expensive bill because they assured me it was covered. Yet, they refuse to take any responsibility for this or discount the bill. I have lived all over the world as an executive expat and have never had something like this happen. read more
