This location looks brand new and is very clean. They have a system that seems to work, where everyone checks-in on the tablet and then they call you to the counter to get your information. I went in on a Saturday so it seemed like it was first come first serve. I would definitely recommend coming to this location considering the cleanliness and organization. Came back because my doctor placed orders here - needed to be done on two separate days, one with a medicine and one without. Came in for the first draw and they pulled my paperwork in their software - they asked me to verify the information which I did, and at that time I saw both orders - came in for the second draw a few days later and they said they didn't have the order and were very unhelpful. I explained what I was just here and that I saw they had it. Make sure you bring your own paperwork. Do not rely on them to be able to work their software system!!! Most importantly they need to retrain their staff and the value of simply being kind or saying I'm sorry we're not able to do your test today. Horrible customer service! read more

I had an appointment at 11:50 and I arrived 6 minutes late due to not seeing the quest sign at the entrance of the building but the staff didn't let me in and asked me to leave since they only had 30 minutes for their lunch and they already had walk in appointments waiting! in my appointment I had 15 minutes window(11:50-12:05) for my lab work, don't know why they behave like that in such a rude way! never going back there or making appointments with them! they even didn't say sorry! horrible horrible horrible. I've been here twice for the same test and each time has been a ridiculous experience. I had the same tech both times and she was beyond unpleasant. Most recently, I went back to take the same test again (6 months later) and she still didn't understand what she was doing. I took my doctor's orders and notes explaining how to conduct the test and she argued with me about how the test in Quest's system is different than what my orders say (that's exactly why the doctor sent a note). I received my test results and the timed intervals she put in were completely wrong and not what was on my test order. Reminder, this is the SAME test I took 6 months ago with the SAME technician (she remembered me btw). Do whatever you can to AVOID this location unless you want to be treated like crap. Showed up on a Saturday morning at 8AM without an appointment. We checked in and didn't have to wait at all (no other customers there!). The 2 ladies that helped us were super nice and friendly! if I could give zero stars I would. the woman who took me obviously hated her job and hated patients. She didn't speak to me until we got to the room and she pulled up my chart. I had 3 printed orders from my dr and tried to give to her. She asked if I had a standing order in the system and I replied that I didn't know. She then said "you do" to which I responded ok here is what my dr gave me and I believe my dr ordered additional labs this time. She literally snatched the papers out of my hand and replied "these are from November". I said yes, that was when I saw my dr and these labs are for my upcoming appointment. There may be additional labs to be done. she snapped at me and said "I asked you over and over if you had a standing lab order and you kept telling me no" and handed me back my papers. When she was ready to take my blood, she literally grabbed my arm and forced it down. No words and she jammed the needle in. As for my blood work, in the past the technician usually takes anywhere from 3-4 tubes of blood. I know I had an additional order but the woman only took 2 tubes. So I have no idea if my lab orders are complete. Additionally, she never asked me to verify the bar code stickers that attach to the tubes with my name on it. I've been going to get my labs for 7 years. never had such an experience. The two gentlemen in Sterling are wonderful and I just started going to Ashburn. Never again will I go back to this location. If I could I would attach the blood soaked gauze from my arm and the bruised vein. read more

The actual drawing blood is always great and painless! But they often run late and the scheduling is a bit flawed. I was 10 min early, the next person was 8 min late and they got service before me. They never have front desk help and frankly it's better that way because when someone helped me at the desk after I already checked in on the kiosk it removed me from the pending people that the phlebotomist sees on their screen in the back. I was supposed to be next, but it skipped me thinking I was getting my blood drawn when I wasn't. I was just signing a piece of paper that I've never been asked to sign at the front desk. Things seem to have gotten better so I thought I'd update my review. Difficult thing is, they don't have dedicated staff at the desk. The check in process is pretty easy. You can check in on your phone or at a kiosk. I was called very close to my appointment time so not much of a wait. My only concern with this facility is that the staff are not friendly. They seem bothered if you ask questions. I had a good experience at this location for the most part. I'd say 3.5 stars but hesitant to give it 4 stars simply due to the wait time. I used the Quest system to schedule my appointment, but didn't "go back" to the lab room for my blood draw for at least 15 minutes. I will say that the staff was professional and pleasant. I was immediately acknowledged by the front desk on arrival. I also appreciated that cleanliness of the lab rooms. I felt the person who took my blood was efficient (1st vein, 1st time). She also really took the time to discern my doctors test orders which ended up in several vials. She asked me to verify each of my vials had the correct information. The other issue at this location was PARKING! I couldn't tell if the issue was the lack of snow plows (several parking spots were still covered in snow making it very difficult to park in those spots). I still felt there were far too many cars for parking spots. It felt like people were making up their own rules for parking. Best advice is to go early and depending on the season, dress to walk. read more

I almost did not schedule an appointment here because of the negative reviews on this site. - I am so glad I did! I took my child to the Ashburn location for some blood work and we experienced excellent care/work. We ran a little late for the appointment and checked in once we arrived via the Quest text messaging system. We only waited a few minutes and were quickly called in by the technician. The waiting room area and office were clean and bright. We were assisted by two technicians (one male and one female) who were very professional and provided outstanding care. Both were extremely kind to my child, who was very nervous about getting blood drawn. I wish I got the technicians names, because they were wonderful professionals who I really hope get recognized their their great work! Unacceptable---made appointment with Quest for blood work. Arrived on-time for 3pm appointment. Entire office completely empty. Receptionist continues to ignore us for 5-10 minutes. Calls us up only to inform us that their "fax machine is out of toner" and that phone service has been disconnected since the weekend (appt was on a Tuesday). Mind you, we gave a phone contact number and email address when making the appointment---we were never given a call notifying us that our prescription was not faxed in. No idea when the toner will show up, and given the staff's complete lack of interest in fixing the situation, don't expect to get any work done here in at least the next six months. I came here to complete my company's wellness assessment. They took forever even though I had an appointment and the nurse practitioner was just as dry and rude as ever. My blood pressure reading looked like I should have been rushed to the emergency room but she was just as dry writing it out and giving me that pink slip! Last year I went to the one in Manassas and I will do that again next year they were much friendlier! On a high note since I was starving and apparently dying (according to the pink slip) I stopped at the little food station downstairs and had the best miso salmon ever! read more

Update: the lab tech/secretary was outright rude and sloppy on my second visit. He repeatedly called me a different patient's name, and tried to hand me her medical forms several times (I refused, he insisted that I was her). As a former medical administrator, I was horrified at the disregard for patient privacy. When it came to the actual lab work, he did not differentiate between the samples that I handed to him. Some needed to be refrigerated, but in fact he literally told me to "just drop everything into the sink". Keep in mind that none of them had my name labeled on them, and other patient's unlabeled samples were scattered all over the same area. The tech had also neglected to hand me the kit for another test that my doctor ordered, but at this point I refuse to return for a third time.The quality control there is atrocious for what you'd expect in a medical diagnostics laboratory. I haven't heard the results yet from my doctor, but I don't know if I should even trust them. I am definitely going to tell my doctor about the scary situation at this lab once I see him at my next visit. read more

I had an appointment on saturday at 10:30 and it took them 2 hours to just call me and ask for my Id and what im coming in for! Amanda is INCREDIBLE! I was an out-of-pocket patient with a laundry list of blood work requests, and Amanda very patiently broke it down for me and let me know what everything cost so that I was able to educate my specialist and get more logical test parameters. She was so nice and so reassuring in a situation that normally would have had me panicking! The Phlebotomist was also stellar. She was very patient with my propensity for fainting, and didn't make me feel weird about it, or like I was inconveniencing her, at all. We had an engaging conversation while we waited for the room with the table to open up, and when it came down to business, she was very professional and QUICK! I had minimal bruising too, which for me, is a huge deal. All the way around the staff did an amazing job, and their ability to humanize and individualize patients really made me feel valued. Went up to pleasantly ensure receptionists knew we had an appointment and see if there was an issue with our referral. They could not have been ruder and less helpful (both of them). I was not so much that I finally got called back at 9:40 (and the tech could not have been nicer and more efficient), it was the total lack on customer service skills displayed by the two receptionists.
