Quendie was a joy to work with for my wedding trial and wedding day hair and makeup! First off, I had no idea how to start with hair and makeup. As a bride without much vision (and an anti-Pinterest gal), it was hard to articulate my preferences for hair and makeup. Having just wrapped up my sister's wedding in October, I was a little knowledgeable about hair and makeup needs on a wedding day, but again, very limited. Most important to me was that I went with an artist who understood AANHPI faces and could make me still look authentically myself, just a little more glammed up for my big day. And let me tell you, Quendie understood the assignment. From our initial discovery call, Quendie was so on top of it. She texted me right away to tell me she got my initial inquiry and would respond in the next moment she could. She immediately set up a call so we could better understand both our needs. When she emailed me, she answered all the random questions and comments I embedded in my inquiry. She truly listened and could give me clear details from the get-go. Quendie, on our call within that week, was so intune. She listened, got to know me and my partner, and truly sought to understand. She talked for probably 30 minutes, but I felt so assured she knew what I was going for. So we booked Quendie! Throughout that moment to the wedding day, Quendie was the first of all vendors to touch base with me. 6 months out, she pinged me to let me know we needed to schedule a wedding day makeup trial. 3 months out, she pinged my wedding planner to start asking about the wedding day timeline. On our makeup trial day, I drove to her home studio and we had a great time! My makeup stayed perfect from 11am to 11pm, and not a hair fell out of place. I got the pleasure to have Quendie as my makeup artist for a friends wedding this past July 2020. I was skeptical of having my makeup done prior because: 1. Covid- not sure how safe it would be to have a stranger so close to my face & 2. I'm very particular with my makeup. But when I tell you she EXCEEDED my expectations- she really freakin did. I was the first to sit in her chair because out of all the bridesmaids- I was the one who wanted the most glam, therefore I would take the longest. So as soon as she sat me down, she asked me what kind of look I was going for and I told her to make me look like Vanessa Hudgens LOL. She immediately got excited because she said it's not often that she gets clients who want full glam for weddings, so I told her to go all out- and she did! Throughout the process she was so much fun by making sure we liked the music that was playing as well as talking and getting to know each girl. And she wasn't just making basic level small talk- she was genuinely interested in getting to know us and I immediately felt like I made a new friend! Once she was done and revealed my makeup- I'm not kidding when I say that my JAW DROPPED. She made me look and feel beautiful!! I'm not one to take selfie's but I felt so confident in my skin after her work, so I immediately FaceTimed my boyfriend to show him my beautiful face LOL. Quendie was the makeup artist for my friends destination wedding in Tulum! I didn't feel comfortable getting my makeup done at the resort due to covid so I asked her if she can just do my eye makeup and I would do the rest. Quendie was the hair artist for my bridal trial and wedding day. She is nice, friendly, and really tries to get to know you, which made the trial and wedding day fun, because it's like talking to one of your girlfriends. During the bridal trial, I decided to curl my hair to the side, because I don't have a lot of hair. My trial was at 10am, but by the time we got to our engagement session shoot, it was already 4pm on a hot August day. My curls did not hold since we kept moving my hair from the front to the back for certain photos. I sent my concerns to Quendie so that we can change it for the wedding day. On the wedding day, Quendie arrived early to set up. She had a mask on for her safety and for our safety due to COVID. She worked on my four bridesmaids, my mom, and me.
