This review is for their Astra Lumina Exhibit, which ends in Feb 2024. Go while you can! Get tickets: https://astralumina.com/new-york/ Ticket prices range from $29-$65 (child, seniors, adults, with or without parking); plus ticketing fees. Note that the entrance is on Crommelin St (not Main St.) Astra Lumina: an enchanted night walk amongst the stars...in the Queens Botanical Garden! This magical walk takes about an hr but I would suggest to take your time and experience these magical lights and sounds to the fullest. Once you exit, there is no re-entry. I really didn't know what to expect when I purchased tkts. It looked pretty cool and interesting on Instagram! Haha Here's a description from their website: This enchanted night walk at Queens Botanical Garden invites visitors to discover the wonder of visiting stars. Set off across mysterious grounds to discover a celestial pathway of lustrous light, cosmic visions, and astral song. Created by the visionary minds at Moment Factory, Astra Lumina NY is the 19th experience in the Lumina Night Walk series. This was my first time experiencing anything like this. I took my 9 yr old niece and she rates this 8.75/10 (talk about exact, huh?! lol). The entire event was visually stunning and yes, magical! I would rate this 7.5/10 cause I'm so jaded. lol But definitely a fun family event. There are benches along the path if you get tired or just want to sit and observe. Like I mentioned earlier, don't rush thru this path, or you'll find yourself at the exit really quickly. At their high prices, you'll want to stay a while. Tickets are sold for specific timeslots but we got there early, and they let us in right away. Street Parking in the area can be challenging but you may get lucky like we did, or pay for parking at the Queens Botanical Garden. But I would suggest looking for street parking first. There are a couple of food, beverage and merchandise vendors. Plenty of restrooms; you'll want to use the ones inside the offices at the entrance, unless you're a fan of the porta toilets (no thanks!). All in all, a cool event but I probably wouldn't go twice.

This is a beautiful place to see. The park is just off the Van Wyck. They have a variety of flowers and open space. They have a composed program. Great place to get out and enjoy the beauty

This is a review for the Astra Lumina limited exhibit. Remind me to never visit a light show in NYC ever again. Tickets for just my wife and I were over 90 bucks. Two drinks and two small snacks were over $50. For these prices, you get a handful of (admittedly) cool light displays, but mostly a whole lot of "meh" and cheap videos on 20 year-old LCD screens. There was a lot of wasted space, and a path too narrow to allow people to stop and admire the exhibits. Everyone was constantly pushing in front of eachother to take pictures. Good news? Uhh...the bathrooms are clean? And there's benches along the path for people to rest on. Total runtime will be about 45 minutes - 1 hour. Frankly, even if the tickets were half the price, it still wouldn't have been worth it. You can do better, NYC.

The weather was in the high 80s today. Queens Botanical Garden is located in the heart of Flushing and conveniently within walking distance from the Flushing-Main Street subway station. They do accept cash and credit card. The adult admission was six dollars. I started strolling through the Helen and Martin Kaltman Fragrance Walk. I photographed the beautiful flowers along the way. Lastly, I walked over to the Cherry Circle & Four Seasons Border. There were so many beautiful cherry blossom trees. The light pink and white petals were floating down. It was such a beautiful moment! The restrooms were located inside and outside of the Visitor & Administration Building.

After a day of eating and walking around in Flushing, we decided to burn off some extra calories at the QBG which was a short walk and an even quicker drive over from Flushing Main Street. Luckily, it was Wednesday after 3pm so there was free admission. I liked that there was ample parking available and the garden was quite peaceful. However, as a regular BBG goer, I had to say I was unimpressed with the size and variety of plants at the QBG. The Rose Garden was currently filled with tulips which were very bright and colorful and rose trellises but I would have liked some more flowers or foliage as most of the space felt inhabited by empty soulless lawn. The Cherry Circle had like two cherry trees in bloom and so many people were waiting in line to snap a selfie. It was definitely a far cry from the Cherry Esplanade at the BBG. I agree with the Yelper who said it felt more like a park than a botanical garden. It's a very underrated and peaceful oasis but honestly I don't think I would be interested in going unless there is free admission (currently Sundays 9-11a and Wednesdays 3-6p). You could walk through the whole thing in an hour easy.

The Astra Lumina exhibition was amazing. We spent a good hour exploring around and looking at the light show. It was magical. I felt everything overall was well organized. The time I went it wasn't super crowded or busy so we had an opportunity to take our time. I hope they have something like this again for this coming year.

I hosted an event at QBG and it was amazing! The garden party package with botanical mocktails was perfection. The event staff/host were so personable and engaging. All of my guests had a great time. The decorations were beautiful and the finger foods were great. I highly recommend anyone to book a special event at QBG.

The Astra Lumina is this beautiful light show at the botanical garden. They have this event seasonal every year. For a date with my girlfriend this was such an amazingly beautiful vibe. It gave such a romantic feeling with all of the beautiful lights. From the sounds, lighting, it was so euphoric walking through here. I just wish it was longer as it only lasted 20 minutes.

This immersive night walk uses light, audio & projection technologies to create a multi-sensory experience! Set off across the garden's celestial pathway to encounter the wonder of the stars. An extraordinary place, a garden right here on earth that shares a special connection with the sky above.

A great outdoor space with lots of different species of plants. Love the bee hives/nest for honey. Lots of beautiful scenery and plants, very relaxing environment. Would recommend to anyone looking to get inspiration from Mother Nature.

Lovely plants and paths

What a nice outing! Definitely worth a visit. Opens at 8, which is great for families with young kids, if I don't say so myself. We arrived around 9 and parked in the neighborhood; we got in without anyone asking for admission. (We weren't sure if it was a timing thing or if we just got lucky.) There's also paid parking within the gates. I see what some other reviewers say about it feeling like a park, but I'd say that's true for just some of the area. Toward the back are tons of nice plants and landscaping. Overall, the style is pretty "wild" and less traditional for a botanical garden, which I really enjoyed. There are plenty of places to sit, and lots of paths were occupied by people dancing and exercising this given Sunday morning. The wedding garden, which was closed off for a wedding, looked like a true oasis from the city. The children's garden, also closed by a gate, might mainly be used for programming but looked a lot of fun and a great place to learn. We can't wait to come back and stroll here.

I am having a dohl (first birthday) in May & I am super excited. They literally do EVERYTHING for you. They set up a nice dohl table, and customize every detail and color according to how you tell them you'd like. I had a dilemma and I had to end up switching the day and the ladies were so nice about it and patient with me all the way. I am recommending this place to everyone. My friend is also having her sons birthday party a month after mine because I told her about my positive experience. My friend was also blown about by the in Update: I was absolutely swept off my feet!!! The decorations exceeded my expectations! It was so breathtaking. I am glad that we chose to have our party here we will be back

Short Summary: These people rack up in fees as your event gets closer…read more Would not recommend it at all.   The venue was beautiful and it was how I imagined my wedding was going to be. But the manager ruined my wedding experience, I had to cancel my event less than a month away with them because they were trying to add so many fees and were forcing me to hire their staff when I specifically told her that I was going to bring my waitresses... she still wanted me to pay 15% in tips even though I told her I did not want her staff. The owner is very greedy and even though we both agreed on a price for flowers, centerpieces, and decorations she decided to change her mind last minute. The manager told me to bring her a picture of how I wanted my centerpieces to look and they said they were going to make them. Yet when I arrived to show her how I want my centerpieces she said it was going to be more money, so I decided to cancel the flowers with her. I asked her if I could bring my own and decorate the lamps myself and she said: "no those are our lamps" even though I was renting out the entire venue from her if you want to decorate it will extra $1k. She then went on to say that if my bartender wanted to use the table in the venue it was going to be an extra fee. The manager never disclosed any of the extra fees for the flowers, for bringing my own stuff, and trying to decorate the lamps or even the bartender table. She decided to rack up the prices last minute because I didn't want to use the expensive services she wanted to charge me, even though it's not what we agreed on. I had previously read a comment regarding this issue but decided to try it anyway, but it's all true. They raise your hopes up and deceive you about how much it will actually cost. As the days go on they begin to increase prices on the things they originally promised on. I had put down a $2k deposit because I was so I love with the venue but I had to loose it because of the "additional fees" she wanted to charge me. She did mention to me that she was going to give me a credit for it but I told her I was never going back there. I had such a terrible experience and it was all ruined due to her seeing that she can take advance of me and my situation. My wedding being a month away I had to give up my venue because of them deciding to add fees on top of fees without any previous information. If she would have disclosed the EXTRA fees at the beginning when I originally booked the place then it would have been a different case. They completely took advantage of me and my family. I do not recommend anyone to book their wedding or event here.

The reason for the low review is the concern of safety of my kids. This place is not that big and it gets really crowded with kids and parents. I highly do not recommend kids under 2 unless you going to be a hawk and shield that baby. There are kids from all age groups and some of them are rough or clumsy players. The ball pit right in front of the door is not for jumping in. There is not enough balls so when you jump you can easily step on one of the balls and slip. I seen a lot of kids have accidents. Also the platforms are matted but it is still pretty hard. I saw one kid jump from the platform to the ground and she landed on one of the balls, slipped and knocked her chin on the platform block. Boy she was not happy. The square sponge pit I totally do not understand. The pit is small, deep and there's a giant pole right in the middle. The trampoline is small. You have to be careful especially if it's more than 3 kids as they will start jumping on top of each other. If you have younger kids you do have to watch them. When it is too crowded I would not recommend coming here.
