Typical corner pub with your usual selection, coupled with friendly service makes for a nice neighborhood option close to the tube. It's not going to win any awards, but mainly it's nice to cross a street or two for a good meal, and this happens here. I had the sausage & mash which was fine, although not the best sausage I've ever had. No worries. And don't forget the Mediterranean section for your kofta, which is sort of random but you'll get it when you visit. There's a nice outdoor section for when it isn't raining. I'll saunter over again next time I'm staying nearby. read more

Great place to hangout, eat some reasonably priced food, have a drink, and listen to live music. It's a warm, cozy environment. We went here because it's right across the street from our hotel. The sign said £10.90 for a burger and pint of beer. That's a great deal since our hotel is charging £18 for a burger! We went for dinner on a Friday night. The staff is friendly. There's plenty of options on the menu. If you want something more healthy there's salads. The band was just setting up when we got there. They sounded great! I ordered the grilled chicken. My husband ordered the fish and chips. We ordered calamari as an appetizer. The waiter accidentally brought out a cheese platter instead but we were happy to have it. There were 3 different kinds of cheese on it. The calamari however was not good. It just tasted like batter. Couldn't taste the calamari at all. We did not finish it. They should probably just take it off the menu. The chicken was really good! It was smothered in a mushroom sauce. My husband really liked his fish and chips and ate every bite. The beer was good too. I would definitely recommend this place. Just don't order the calamari! read more

We came from Shanghai, China and lived in the Marriott hotel across the street for a couple of days. We happened to come to this restaurant for a dinner. The Pale Ale Beer here is really good after a long day driving. My wife and I spent good time here. I would rate 5 stars of beer and 3 stars of food for this lovely place. :) read more

This is a skewed review. The only reason I am in four star range is that the Camden Pale Ale on tap is the best brew I have had this year - and that is saying something. Down sides - fruit fly landed in my beer. I had the Greek salad which had little very wilted lettuce. Half the people in here are blotto drunk at 8:30 on a Friday night. But there is a band about to play. So if you are in the right mood and in the right company, this place is a fit. If you are a family or a single business person from the Marriott, lower you expectations. But try the Camden Pale, four stars for that. read more

Nice little pub across from the Marriott Maida Vale. A clean pub friendly service great atmosphere. I'm not here for the food so I can't say anything about that but I can tell you that they have a lot and tap both beer and hard cider. You should definitely take a walk across if you're staying at the Marriott and sit at the bar there is free Wi-Fi. You may even catch some locals in here. read more

Where to begin? At the start, Chris. At the start. Well, my family have been coming to this local since before I was born. Since my dad was born as well. It had always been a great place to go to drink with people from the area. Then the 60's and 70's came around and it still held a great reputation - there are countless hilarious stories that float around at my family gatherings about the fights, arguments and encounters that happened during this supposedly "Golden Era". Well, the 80's rolled around and the place became dingier and smellier. Somehow this never stopped every single man in my extended family heading there for Boxing Day drinks, while us kids played with our Christmas presents and waited to see the varying states of disarray that the menfolk of my family would return in. In the 90's this still continued but at the end of the decade, the pub was really a dead entity. Much like most of my relatives by this point. So, recently I noticed that they gave the place an overhaul. It LOOKED better... but I still did not chance it. They gave it an even more of a makeover not long after. By now, it actually looked good. There were even people in there and everything. I was impressed. So, when a relative was in town from New Zealand and he called me from there, I put on my bulletproof vest and gas mask and headed over... I was very surprised to find a great pub! The atmosphere was buzzy, the staff were great and the drinks were reasonably priced. What a shock. This secured my vote and I have been returning there regularly since. Funny how this behaviour spans three generations of my family now... So then, why are you giving the place only two stars Chris G.?!? Well, I chose to eat there. Big mistake. Meeting my friend and my cousin in there last night, two of us chose to eat - my cousin was far too sceptical for all that. Rightly so. Mark ordered the Kofte kebab, chips, selection of breads and salad. I went for the Grilled King Prawns with noodles. Now I am going to tell you about a little habit that I have... Whenever I visit a new restaurant, I order Calamari as a tester. It gives a lot away about a place. Is the calamari tough? Stringy? Oily? What is the portion like? In this example, the Queens Arms fails the arm test. The squid was dry, tasteless, thin and was a very small amount for a fiver. The experience did not improve from there. My prawns were OK enough, but laughably there were served on what looked, smelled and tasted suspiciously like BEEF SUPER NOODLES. No joke ladies and gentlemen. I was even left with that authentic "too much MSG, too many E-numbers" taste in my mouth. Needless to say, I spent a lot of last night feverishly refilling my Brita filter. The "Piece de no resistance" came in the greasy form of Mark's Kofte (or Qofte as the menu's typo suggested). Since when did Kofte kebab, chips, selection of breads and salad become CHEAP Iceland hamburgers, dodgy french fries, half a french loaf and some mixed lettuce and cabbage. The poor guy was hungry and all I could do is laugh. read more

While traveling abroad I found a small sanctuary at the Queen's Arms. I was traveling over the Christmas holiday and while the entire city was closed and its denizens were playing family time, this pub was open. Christmas evening played out thusly: My father and I cheersing pint glasses together while a live band from Kosovo played classic, American rock and some Christmas tunes. As the night progressed the pub slowly began to fill with patrons, looking for a sneaky pint, to near max capacity. Atmosphere-wise this pub is all anyone could ask for. The food is here traditional English flare. I tried several of their pizzas and while none were mind-blowing it was all tasty. Oh...their Greek salad was amazing, and I'm a Greek-American. A mix of tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, and feta on top of a warm pita is what should be their claim to fame. It may be odd to talk about the merits of a salad, but I ordered two back to back. A friendly pub with friendly staff and an inviting atmosphere, Queen's Arms is a must for anyone in the area, especially those staying at the Marriott across the street. read more

So after desperately trying to find a pub that serves food on a Sunday night, we ended up here, 4 adults with one child. The interiors are extremely boring, when we asked if they served food they gave us nothing but a nod, and we took a seat in the dining area. The waitress comes to take our drink orders but we didn't get a drinks menu so she sighed at us for not exactly knowing what to drink. When I asked her about what's in the chicken burger, she literally said "I don't know.... Chicken?". She came back with our drinks and took our food order. Not a single smile, just standing there because she has to. Not because she wants to. They do not to kid sizes or menus. The burgers were awfully ugly with low standard and the grilled chicken with vegetables was a thin piece of chicken breast with TWO pieces of broccoli. My potato wedges were cold. For this we payed almost £60. Wow. read more

First of all Chris, I know this pub as my own pockets, so let me tell you that those kofte kebabs are 100% home made, but obviously they are traditional albanian food, not turkish or greek..that's why the difference..the chips are chips..as everywhere..about the noodles I agree with you, it could be better... We went there in the summer and ate outside, they were BBQ in and the mini burgers were great. Definitely a local spot. Very friendly staff and good tap beer. My wife and daughter enjoyed the food and atmosphere. We were staying at the Marriott across the street and wanted to try a local joint. Looks like a rough but fun local crowd , we enjoyed it. The food in this pub is not very traditional. I ordered roast beef and green beans and I got minute steak and raw cabbage. It was very chewy and not very tasty. My friend ordered breadcrumbed chicken with spaghetti which was a better dish. The food seems overpriced for the standard they are offering. However, the bar was clean and there is plenty of room to relax. The menu is huge and I wonder how they can keep everything fresh offering so many dishes. read more

My wife and I have been going here on average about once every couple of weeks for the last 6 months. The service and food quality hasn't been 100% consistent, but always decent. However, they seem to have overhauled their staff recently and the last few times we've been there we were met with an inexplicable attitude of disdain by the wait staff. I have noticed a general aloofness in London that's remarkably different from the kind of service one gets used to in the US, and I have no problem with that. This, however, was on a whole other level. Eg, when I asked for mayo the waitress just seemed to ignore me. When I repeated my request to make sure she heard me she responded with a dismissive "got it" as she already had her back turned and was walking away from the table. Needless to say, she never returned to our table. This was on a Saturday afternoon and the place was not busy at all. I've rated 1 star because good service is a crucial part of the experience of dining out and there is no excuse for intentionally bad service. read more
