Amazing hydrating facial for $79 in a relaxing and clean space that Queenie runs herself. Then she was out of town (on a deserved vacation) and I needed a fill. Was referred by a group to another location and my lashes were uneven, falling out and just embarrassing. Went back to Queenie Beauty today and had her start from scratch. She removed all the old, uneven lashes and started over. So worth it!! I came across Queenie when I was searching for a new lash lift artist, and I am so happy I found her! She is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, and patient. She did a great job with my lash lift and even explained about the different types of curl, which is something I've never experienced before with previous artist. After that experience, I did look over her services and noticed that she provides facials as well. I returned a second time for a facial I believe the facial I chose was the snail needle facial? I forgot the exact name, but I loved the experience. She provided me with a thorough explanation of each step of the process, and it felt incredibly calming even during the extraction. I typically cringe during the extraction part of a facial, but with Queenie, I fell ASLEEP. I was so relaxed and came out of my facial feeling refreshed!!! As someone who chronically struggles to relax (literally I'm the type to count down the time until a facial is over, I typically feel claustrophobic during the jelly mask part, etc.), Queenie really did a great job of putting me at ease. I was truly relaxed throughout the process. After this, I even raved to my boyfriend about her and he came for a facial as well! She was able to analyze his skin type and recommended a Hydro facial for him since he does have dry skin. I really appreciate this because I had originally told him to get the same facial as I had previously gotten, not understanding his skin type, and she actually recommended a lower cost facial which I felt was such an honest move that I don't typically see from business owners! I've wanted to check out Queenie Beauty for a while now, so I purchased a Groupon (priced at $49) for a lash lift session. I visited on Sat, May 4th at 3:30 PM. I texted Queenie at her number (626-922-5562) a week before my appt, and she responded quickly and kindly! I loved how it was easy to communicate with her, and I didn't have to call lol. She even texted me a picture of her shop, where to park, and a reminder before my appt. Experience: -I enjoyed my lash lift session with Queenie. She asked what type of curl I wanted (I didn't know I could choose! ), so I opted for the curlier D (as opposed to a less curly C, which I might try next time). - I've wanted to try a lash tint (essentially dyeing your lashes a little darker), but I don't think I see too much difference. If anything, my left eyelashes are a teensy bit darker than my right (Idk? my left eye does have fuller lashes LOL). However, the curls do last! I'm writing this review in late May and my lashes are still curled! Though, keep in mind that my lashes grow kind of slow. - It was an overall good experience, but the appt did take a little longer than expected -mainly because I also added on an extra lash tint (for an additional +$15). I left the store around 4:45 PM, so I was getting a little restless since the bed where I lay was getting hot, and I didn't feel much of an AC. Parking: I've been to this area a few times and never had any issues (I actually came here when it used to be a nail salon years back!). You can park in the lot right by the store, or I like to park across the store on Alta Street! My husband dropped me off this past visit, but he didn't have a problem finding parking either when he waited. Note: The shop partners with WaxSugarStudio-Q (two women-owned shops!), so the door is always locked. Please call or text them when you arrive so they can open the door. I purchased a one time Groupon and so happy I did because I love how my lash lift ended up coming out. :) There's a parking lot located behind the business and the shop isn't very big but still very inviting and quiet. Got a discounted Groupon for lash lift as I have been waiting to get one since pre-covid. I finally pulled the trigger, and purchased it for Queenie Beauty under my friend's recommendation. Queenie beauty is located to the side of First Ave and Alta (store front on Alta). It's a small, easy to miss entrance, and Queenie Beauty's station is actually in the back of a nail salon - talk about a hole in the wall type of place! Queenie made me feel very at ease during my lash lift session. Since I indicated that I've done this before, she didn't go into much details explaining. The whole process took less than 45 minutes and I was already out the door. I like that Queenie left me alone during the treatment when the lashes needed to set, rather than trying to make small conversations. I was truly able to relax and I almost fell asleep! As for the lash lift itself, I absolutely loved the natural look from lash lift vs. fake lashes. As a person that rubs their eyes a lot, I don't have to be worried that any implanted lashes would fall out when I rub my eyes subconsciously. My last lash lift lasted ~ 6 weeks, and I expect Queenie's to last about the same (will revise review if otherwise). Queenie has been my lash tech for as long as I can remember. She is so gentle and always makes sure you are comfortable. She is definitely a professional at her profession. For example, my short asian lashes wont hold a size 14-15 lash. She will tell me it will be too heavy and suggest shorter lashes with a different curl. She popped my facial cherry today, and it was AMAZING. My face looks and feels rejuvenated. I met her through a Groupon deal which I didn't purchase on Groupon since she asked me to just pay her directly. She did an eyelash lift on me 7 months ago. My eyelashes were clumpy on one eye. I figured ok it was just 2 clumps, eyelashes grouped together awkwardly curled together in the opposite direction, but at least curled for the most part. Her eyelash lift job was ok, not great, satisfactory. Fast forward, I decided to get another lash lift and saw a new Groupon deal. For most deals it says only one per person in the fine print t. Yet she leaves it out on her Groupon deal and even allows people to purchase 12. I tried calling her a few times before buying yet she didn't get back to me. When you finally reach her to make an appointment, she doesn't honor the Groupon and says she has the fine print in her salon... only one person ever. Are you joking? This should be stated on the deal. It's bait and switch. It is misleading and false advertising. I had never bought a Groupon for her salon until now, because she specifically asked me to pay her directly before. What a sham; she doesn't honor the Groupon and inconveniences you to deal with Groupon and the bank for you to get a refund. Also she doesn't get back to you right away and says she is busy to avoid you. Too busy but she is misleading and deliberately inconveniencing people.
