This is mainly used by travelling salesmen or contractors - also homeless people are put up here too. Its seen better days and there are better hotels within 3/4 mins drive for just a little extra per night. I would not stop here. read more

I only went there today as a first time experience to see the…read morehorses race and it was great, you get to see soo much of the horses from when they arrive and get warmed up till it is show time for them to race. It gets your adrenaline pumping when the guy is speaking from a loud tanner especially when the horses are drawing to the final part of the race. It was a real treat going today as it was a promotion that they were doing and you get to see the high class sort of people there who must be their week in week out. I got to see Michael Owen today aswel. The people there are a real gem speaking to you to as though you are one of their own.

I recently stayed here for a few nights, and appreciated the generously-sized room with ensuite…read moreshower/bath and separate toilet. Everything was modern, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was a generous buffet of continental and full English foods. Staff on reception, in the bar and in the restaurant were pleasant and helpful. The only negatives were the high price of broadband and the absolutely ridiculous minibar prices. Overall, while this hotel has a rather corporate feel and the location is convenient rather than attractive, it is a pleasant place to stay in Wolverhampton with good facilities.
I don't know if the hotel has been renovated recently, but I thought it was fine. Everything in the…read moreroom and public areas looked clean and fairly new, room was big and comfortable and bed was fine. Check in was simple, and it was no problem shortening our stay by a day. ("Sure, just check out by 14:00"). Lots of business types while we were there, plus a hen party in the bar our first night. No noise in the room though. Our wifi was free, too. As I remember, they had a free basic option (which was a fine speed for web surfing) and a paid faster internet ( which you'd really only need to stream movies, do lots of up/downloading, etc...) The reason I probably wouldn't return is that it's not the best area. The hotel is near the police station and sirens were frequent. Walking from the train station (about an 8 min walk) watched a guy launch his newspaper into the bushes on the side of the walking path. Not an area I would want to walk around at night. On the plus side, the tram to Birmingham stops very close to the hotel. Not very many restaurants around if you don't have a car to get around.

Never really had much of a problem with Travelodges in the past and having stayed here before I…read moreknew what to expect but little did I know..... First off the location is great for anything going on in Wolverhampton City Centre not to far to walk. Arrived 30 minutes before the check in time but was allowed to check in early and get into our room. Arrived to our room but there was no door number on it (see picture) so filling in the gap between 2 and 4 we guessed this was our room. Booked a family room as there was 3 of us on this trip, I open the door to find a double bed, a single bed and a mattress. All of these were really uncomfortable and the double bed with 2 people on, you role into the middle due to a massive dip. We settle in for a couple of drinks and stick the TV on which looks as if it is about to fall of the wall due to the bracket (see pics) We then notice mold and damp all around the window absolutely terrible stuff, we could of asked to be moved but couldn't be bothered with the hassle of unpacking and moving. Went out to a concert and then we come back get something to eat and hit the hay. All night I could hear people in the corridors talking loudly like it was a party all night long, then the room next door are shouting. 2:30am I go to the reception where a specky yam yam is working, I ask him if he can do anything regarding the noise from next door and he laughs and see's what he can do. Anyhow get off to sleep for a few hours and then awaken. Go to open the blind on the window and it is dripping with condensation (the blind) all over the window seal. Also no free Wi-Fi thieves! Next time I will pay the extra and stay in either the Premier Inn or if I am feeling flush the Novotel.
A great addition to Wolverhampton City Centre. Perfect…read morelocation for travelling football fans and bargains to be had if you book long enough in advance. As with all Travelodge's the rooms are nice and comfortable. A cosy little bar out back serves food and as yet they haven't been inspected by Wolves Council for their Scores on the door rating yet. I'd recommend this place for visitors to the City.

Worst experience of my life I booked a room for one night…read moreand had the worst experience at a hotel in my life. First of all I had to wait before checking in because I arrived 10min before the check in time. And what hotel forbids you from bringing your own food into the hotel, I had to eat my dinner at midnight on the street like a homeless guy because the management wouldn't allow me in with food. And the stuff where really rude. And my room was so disgusting not cleaned for god know how many days the carpet was really disgusting looks like dirt and sement in it you can even walk in it plus half the equipment where defective. I took some pictures too bad I can post them. THE WORST HOTEL I HAVE BEEN IN.
Quite possibly the most awful hotel I've ever stayed in and I've stayed in a LOT…read more Once you have travelled back in time as you enter the front door and approach reception, you will be met with misery like you've never experienced before after a 18hr journey, you'll be ignored for a while whilst they finish their conversation, then you'll be spoken to like an inconvenience. Once you've checked in you'll be given rules about not eating in your room or bringing in outside food and drink in. Also abuse of staff will not be tolerated, signs are everywhere. Basically it's a get out clause because they will talk to you like an idiot but if you talk back to them like that it won't be tolerated. WiFi is poor so if you're in wolves on business I wouldn't bother. No smoking on site but place stinks of cigarettes in hotel bar and hallways. Room was tired, Springs in mattress, lighting poor, no extractor in bathroom to take steam away. Bar is basic, only takes cash, but drinks reasonable and bartender was really nice. Housekeeping were really hardworking and made sure we were topped up with coffee and tea in the room which was lovely. Overall, would never stay here again. Forget economy I'll pay an extra few pounds a night next time and find somewhere else. Britannia should be ashamed, embarrassed, that this is allowed. It needs significant investment. Service and quality is non-existent at this hotel.
