I read the positive reviews and tried to give this place a shot. Wasn't a great experience. My guy kept messing up my powder gel manicure. He told me it was dry and it wasn't. He was in such a rush. I have never had a gel powder manicure like this before. Everyone else was given a shoulder massage but me. They didn't cut or push back my cuticles and he didn't use any cuticle cutter or cut the dead skin around my nails. It was strictly painting and that's it! Won't be back!! I had been going to this salon for a while and stopped due to personal reasons, but I had always enjoyed the work done. After six months, I returned a week ago and was horrified by the hatchet job done to my hands today. I have had my nails done by Hannah and Betty in addition to the older man there and never had a problem. Today, my gel manicure was done by the young man who works there and he cut open SIX fingers at the cuticle. When I said something about the pain, he said it was my fault because my hands weren't relaxed. One nail didn't cure properly and he had to start over on it, again blaming me because my hand "wasn't flat under the light". I didn't receive the cuticle oil or the lotion at the end. After walking out I realized that FOUR nails were not fully cured, the polish peeled right off, I also noticed that he had painted over all of my fingers at the cuticle, including all six he had cut. I've gone to this salon many times and never had any of these issues. I've gone many other salons locally and out of town/state without any of these issues. If you do go here, do not have the young man do your nails at all, take your time and wait for someone else to be available instead of wasting your money (and bleeding) for a terrible job. They have an amazing selection of colors and take walk ins. They do tend to get busy on the weekends so I would recommend making an appointment. This is the second time that I've gone to Queen Nails. I did not like the first time BUT I was in a rush and they were the closest. I did not have an appointment but they do take walk-in's. She told me that it wouldn't be long. It turned out to be a 20 min wait. I chose one of their long lasting nail polishes that you have to pay $2 extra for. I was seated in the pedicure chair and decided to go with the $29 spa pedicure. It included a weak 10 min massage and NO callus treatment. Most establishments in the area include that in their spa treatments. Anyhow...on to the manicure which is where the low rating comes into play. The lady took the tools she used to cut my cuticles, wiped them off with the washcloth she used on my hands and placed them back in the container. I hoped that these containers would be sanitized. I started observing what was going on around me and nope...no sanitizing of the tools. When I came on YELP to see the reviews, I saw that I wasn't the only one noticing the lack of hygiene. Once you start really looking around, you will see how dusty, dirty, and dingy this place is. I gave Queen nails a second chance this time around . The first I went to Queen Nails, I was impressed by how long my pedicure lasted but I had to argue with the lady to cut my cuticles so I wasn't exactly pleased with my experience. Regardless, I gave them a second chance. This time my pedicure with the long lasting polish chipped (middle toe) 4 days in. The picture is 6 days in and as you can see the long lasting paint is cracking. You can also see the discrepancies in the layers of the application. Don't waste your time here. I'm showing them the picture and comparing it to the work that was done and they're looking at me like I'm trying to rob them for a free manicure . So now I'm dealing with 1 them not even bothering to look at their mistakes 2 me giving them the opportunity to look at the proof thats right in front of em 3 having to see my daughter rush to the bathroom come back out with wiped off tears & discomfort now sitting in her soul cause she's 60% satisfied that it doesn't look like she wanted , 4 still dealing w pleading to have this fixed and then 5 to be treated like some illiterate or crazy quickly being dismissed That's gotta be some type of profiling / low key racism / hate crime happening so I didn't wanna cause a scene but I let it be known of all the mistakes that were made and how it's not OK to treat customers like this && still was refused w a solution . WOW that's when I knew that this place was garbage / scam They knew they messed up , saw and took the opportunity to take advantage of a single dad with his daughter. I was dying to make things right and walk out the door. Of course I paid in full cause I'm not that type of guy but I had to experience the most legal robbery ever . I should've saw the signs at first cause While waiting for my kids nails to be done I got a 1hour foot massage and COMMUNITY let me take the time to give you my thanks for reading this far but wait until I explain this other experience ! I didn't realize what he did till I saw him apply the top coat out of the same bottle. I should've insisted he redo it, but I figured, how bad can it be? Bad. Very, very bad. The base coat goes on top for a reason! My nail polish came off my nails in giant slabs the next day. You know, the day of the wedding. My nails weren't even chipped. No, they were half bare, half dark burgundy. It is not a great look. I did not have the time to fix them till I was done helping everyone else get ready and could get ready myself, which was right before the wedding. This was my first time here. I have been doing SNS for over a year and wanted to try someplace new. The SNS is $35 which isn't bad. My SNS was $43. I was charged to soak my nails off (which is never something you pay when you're doing SNS again) and I was charged for a tip (I broke a nail). While I was there I was debating between a fresh acrylic set of tips or the SNS. I told the technician that because if the broken nail I might just do tips instead. He said don't worry I'll take care of it for you. I asked if there would be a charge for the ONE tip three times and he ignored me so I assumed it was free. It wasn't. And that's the story of how I got charged $43 for $35 worth of services. Never again. Had I known this would be the outcome I would have just paid for a set of acrylic tips. I've witnessed staff refuse a manicure to a handicapped women, be rude to costumers on multiple occasions, and mess up multiple manicures. Today was the last straw. I went in at around 11:30am with my friend and had to wait over 30 minutes for an SNS manicure! There wasn't even many costumers in the salon. The SNS manicures have always turned out ok, but the gel manicures looks sloppy. Also, the majority of the time staff is very aggressive with their manicures and I have left with my cuticles bleeding on more then one occasion. Had my nails (SNS)done today as I do every three weeks. I always paid $32 plus tip. I get the same process every time. Today they charged me $37 and when I questioned it they said it was because I have long nails. My nails are always the same length. Long nails to me are Cardi B long nails. The store has signs everywhere you look with the prices none of which say it is $5 more for long nails. When I asked other people that go there they said they pull fast ones like that all the time. However, I had several unfortunate interactions with a nail technician by the name of Ruby. Whenever I have her, she's rough, and frankly rude. This past weekend, was no exception. After she did two or three nails I realized that the color she was doing was wrong. The color didn't matched my pedicure, which she also did. I politely asked her if she could change it. She said "no. I only change colors for people if it's on one nail." She offered no solution and continued what she was doing despite me asking her again to stop and change it. I was so angry and upset with her. I'm now going on a tropical vacation with guess what... Ruby red nails. Just awful. What was supposed to be a relaxing experience turned out to be really disheartening since I have been going there for such a long time and have spent a lot of money there. He tends to rush & not pay much attention since he answers the phone & keeps an eye on all the employees. Yesterday I decided to get a pedicure as well. I got the $29 pedi, comes with a 10 minute massage & some stuff they put on your legs. The stuff made my eczema really bad. She barely got any of the dead skin off around my toes & there is SO MUCH polish around my cuticles, I could have given myself a better job.
