This small grocery market is located in the cargo district. Indoor is a small business called Bones…read morethat sells healthier dog treats and upcycle toys. There is also going to be a wine bottle shop inside called Bottles that will open soon. Homegrown sells local products and focuses on sustainability. There wasn't too much variety of produce when I was there. The produce prices are at least twice as much as grocery store prices but they are higher quality/locally grown. There are also "bulk" organic dried herbs and spices, flours, rice, beans and grains, including chickpea flour, sprouted whole grain flour, cacao powder, chia seeds, pink Himalayan salt, baking soda, arrowroot. These are not bulk bins, more of around 32 oz glass sized containers. I imagine if you only need a tablespoon or so of the spice or a cup of beans, this would work out for you. You can bring your own container or they have a glass containers available. Other products are local Taste the Olive olive oil, elderberry syrup, vanilla extract, honey, Kind Cultures, eggs, meats, sweets. For skincare there is bulk deodorant, tooth powder, and tea. Reverse osmosis water is available for $0.40 per gallon or free for single serving refills. This would be good market for those that live close by looking for organic, local, and sustainable products.

Homegrown Market itself is a "grocery store and market featuring local producers with an eye on sustainability and good health." They did have some great items inside and had items that you could bring in your own container to fill up with whatever the item was you were needing. Their produce was limited, but what they had looked fresh and delicious. They also sold many of the products from vendors that I see at the local farmers market at Poplar Grove. It is not necessarily something that I would go out of my way to stop at, however, if I was in the area, I would go back and check it out.

And y'know what: you can't get "overwhelming" selections of spices, teas, and sugars virtually anywhere else, so that's a GOOD thing. Every one offers a glass jar that you can open to "smell" the sugar/tea/spice you're thinking of buying. In the case of the teas, they will make you a hot/iced version of the tea (and charge for it, but it's surprisingly affordable) to try as well. After awhile, all of the scents kinda blend together (especially for like, hickory or smoked scents), but it's super cool and a ridiculous level of selection. They have smaller pouches, larger bags, or containers/jars for most items, letting you buy smaller quantities to try. I wanna say smaller pouches were starting around $6 (September 2025). They had quite a few blends of demarara sugars that are going to be great for cocktail garnishing. (Salted caramel sugar? Burnt espresso sugars? mmmm!) And my meat-loving friends picked up a ton of different stuff. Expect to spend a bit in here. There are SO many things to see. The basics are divided into various walls (teas separate from sugars, etc.), but their display tables of seasonal merch in the middle of the store require some careful perusal too. Staff was friendly, and they definitely know their stuff, but they clearly know people get overwhelmed and left us alone. I did not expect to pop into the store, but honestly, I'm super glad I did.

Great selection of spices and very helpful staff. Great location, very easy to find. I need to…read moretry out their tea selection

It's wonderful to know that the family behind these amazing and uber delicious gourmet products are incredibly nice and generous. While there are so many different items that I adored (and I tried quite a few samples) my favorite is the Heavenly Toffee Cookies. Tasty grahams toffee'd up to the wazoo. SO delightful. I pretty much took down an entire 6 oz. bag in one sitting. Goodness Gracie, you sure do make delicious treats. They also make a ton of other cookies and delicious snack items that make for perfect gifts for anyone who loves a tasty morsel and/or local products. Their website also hosts a variety of really cute basket-like gifts for any occasion at really affordable prices. I will continue to support this great local company in any way I can! Trust me, if you try their cookies or snacks you won't be able to resist either.

I met the owners at the Beaufort Wine and Food Festival this past weekend and like Nicole, we bought two bags and finished them in the hotel room before the weekend was over. They are incredible! The couple hand makes all of their items themselves. I am allergic to tree nuts so we bought the Oatmeal Toffee cookies! Holy shmoley, these things are the best! When we got home, I got online and ordered more for myself and some gifts. You gotta visit this site and grab some for yourself!
