Justin helped take a look at my somewhat unique situation, dealing with how to effectively use my 240v and 120v generators with my existing inlet and interlock setup and gave me solutions I could implement myself. After Justin left I noticed that the electrician that initially installed my inlet and interlock, may have moved a breaker that is now not on the right phase. Great folks to work with. We had a complete knob and tube replacement of our 1929 house. Mike was great, kept track of the complexities of the job, we had electricity each night after they left and they cleaned up well after each day. This was a complex job and Mike was always optimistic and calm, not easy to be with folks who are having major work done in their home. Also minimal invasion of period lathe and plaster which also was very much appreciated. Isobella was great with scheduling and any shifts needed. Any deviation from estimate was from scope creep (our choice, addition outlets and circuits, etc) versus a change in their estimate. We had several electrical issues in our home. The worst one was a sizzling sound coming from behind the chandelier dimmer switch. We called Queen Anne Electric, and after assessing that this was not an emergency because we could keep it off, Justin promised to be over in two days. He was 15 minutes early for the appointment and was done with four different projects, easily within an hour. Justin was congenial, efficient and knowledgeable. Luke did a great job, fixed all of our issues. ...Fast forward 3 years and it turns out they didnt properly cap the wires in the electrical outlet and caused our outlet to fry. We just completed a series of several electrical projects in our home (details below) with Queen Anne Electric and they were absolutely FANTASTIC! Isabella in their office was wonderful to work with to get everything coordinated and scheduled. Justin (who I believe is the owner?) came out to do the initial assessment. In addition to the can lighting we wanted installed in several rooms we also had some tricky electrical issues around our fireplace. We wanted to install several outlets around our fireplace built ins to hide speaker and tv cables and we also wanted to figure out a way to hide the gas fireplace cord. Justin provided some great recommendations and set our minds at ease that what we wanted was feasible. Micah and Jordan then showed up to do the work shortly afterward. They were absolutely fabulous electricians (and people!). They were so pleasant to have in our home for the 4 days they completed the work. They had wonderful attention to detail and made sure to check in with us often to ensure they were getting everything how we wanted it. I really appreciated them cleaning up after each day. On the last day they made sure to place all the furniture back in our living room and also helped me unbox a new, heavy side table to place in the living room (without me even asking!). I have hired Queen Anne Electric for 5 major remodel projects starting with a 4 unit multi family apartment home back in 2004 and most recently a 3300 square foot luxury home in Magnolia last spring. The quality of the work is outstanding, the timeliness is outstanding and the follow up (even several years after the project was done) is outstanding. One of their most lasting values is they have very low turnover of personnel (which means they hire good people and treat them well). They missed an outlet bc they didn't realize we needed 3 outlets under sink. They came back with no questions asked and added the outlet. Q.A. Electric gave me a good price to install some outlets and a bathroom fan. Queen Anne Electric's work was slapdash, and they didn't clean up after themselves. They drilled holes in the exterior wall - for interior work - and didn't patch the holes. They routed wiring through heat ducts, and left the heat ducts wide open to the basement, instead of reparing the heat ducts. They destroyed a section of hardwood floor on the second floor when they installed a light fixture on the first floor. On the plus side, they were willing to come back and fix most of the errors, and work with me on the bill to accommodate the damage to the hardwood floor. The owner of QA Electric got testy, and made some insulting comments, when I asked his company to repair the holes in the exterior wall. They were good about coming back after electrical inspection and fixing the minor items the electrical inspector found. I would not hire Queen Anne Electric again. read more

I hired Queen Anne Electric to do a knob-and-tube rewire and to wire a new bathroom. Jubie and Luke did the rewire, and did much less drilling than I was expecting. There were only a few small holes that needed patching afterwards. Jose wired the bathroom, and he made sure to have everything right where I wanted it. I bought an older condo in Magnolia and had a number of electrical projects that I needed to have done including new wiring for a dryer. They did an amazing job. The wiring was done quickly without mess or disruption to my day. They had to get a little creative because the condo wasn't built for dryers, but with an initial well thought out plan Justin and his team came up with the perfect solution. I was so happy with their work I hired them back to replace the baseboard heaters in both rooms, install a dining room lamp and replace all of the original outlet boxes. Overall terrible experience. They were contracted to do specific work which the owner bid on, but when the crew arrived without the owner they were unaware of what needed to be done when my partner let them into the home. I ended up asking them to leave (by phone) because it was clear they had no idea what they were doing. Instead of an apology for showing up unprepared, I was given an invoice and had to pay them for their time. I obviously never let them into my home again. read more

We bought an 80 year old house in Greenlake. The inspector warned us that it had a recalled Federal-Pacific panel that was a fire danger, and advised we also have the electrical system checked out by a professional. After talking to a few other providers, we went with QA Electric. Justin and his team were very responsive and very careful in doing a very big job. They rewired (almost) the entire house, replacing all the knob-and-tube, tripling the number of outlets, and adding 3-way switches in very complicated locations. I was a second time customer, as they did the initial installation of my outdoor lights about 5 years ago. I didn't feel their communication or customer service was good back then, but since they presumably were familiar with the work, I called them. Unfortunately, my previous impression was confirmed. Many of the lights they installed haven't worked for several years, and I'd been meaning to call them, but had just gotten used to it. When I called to have them come out recently, Justin's manner on the phone was not particularly friendly; I had no sense he was glad I was a returning customer. After not hearing him come at 8:30 (my dog usually barks, and he didn't hear a thing), I assumed he was running late. Around 8:45 I went out to see if he might have come. He was checking the fountains, which I'd asked him to do when I 'd called, so I figured he wasn't needing me for that. I also assumed, since they'd done the work before and he didn't ask me any questions about it, that he must have had knowledge of where the lights were. He simply looked around and then said he'd be going to the store to pick up some bulbs and a new light sensor to replace the one that was bad. When he returned I must have been in the shower and again didn't hear his knock. He did what he could and left. When I saw that 4 of the 5 outdoor lights hadn't been found or dealt with, and one I found impossible to unscrew, I called and asked him to please return. I was surprised and dismayed to receive a bill for $352. It seemed to me that the bill was mostly for running to the store and unscrewing a fixture. He did check the light sensor and the electricity running to two fountains (neither of which required work), which must have been a quick operation. It seemed like an awful lot to charge for so little actual electrical work. When I emailed them about the bill, Justin wrote back about how I hadn't come to the door when he knocked initially or again when he returned (true). I concede that I contributed to our miscommunication in that way, but as a customer, I felt he hadn't been clear with me about what he needed from me. I wasn't clear that he even needed me there, since he hadn't asked me direct questions to gather the information he needed to do the job when he had the opportunity -- neither on my initial call nor when I went out to see him in the yard. I also wish he'd made it clear that he would charge me the full $85/hr for going to the store, since I would have offered to go myself. I will not use QA Electric again. read more

We have used Queen Anne Electric to do significant electrical work on our 1918 built home. The home had the original knob and tube wiring when we bought it, so we hired QAE to remove it and update it with current standard wiring, and to install recessed lighting throughout the house. We had a consultation meeting with QAE and as we walked through our home they proactively and professionally suggested things like adding additional outlets, placement of outlets and lighting fixtures, and adding wiring for a future garbage disposal and dishwasher for when we remodel our kitchen. They were flexible in working with our other contractors, as we were having the roof replaced at the same time as they were working, and in getting the project finished in a short period of time so that we could move in with the job having been completed. Their team was flexible, professional and courteous. We have since had them back for additional work and wouldn't think of hiring anyone else. In all, QAE has completely rewired our home, added interior recessed lighting throughout, added task lighting in the kitchen, added exterior outlets and exterior light fixtures, navigated difficult to access crawl spaces and attic space, and discovered and replaced faulty existing wiring. read more

Justin came to my home to provide the estimate. He listened to my goals, made some suggestions, but didn't try to upsell me. And I was billed exactly as set forth in the estimate/bid.
