We were seated on the patio and our very sweet server was right out to take our drink order. Since we are eating Poutine all over Canada in search of our favorite. We so enjoyed sitting on the patio, it was a beautiful day, we were people watching and enjoying the umbrellas place up the alley. Our poutine was delivered to the table and I can honestly say it was our favorite. The fries were crunch and creamy on the inside. The gravy was rich and had a deep flavor and the cheese curds had lightly melted. Every bite was perfect. The eatery and bar are tucked into a stone house that dates back to 1668, if only the walls could talk. The bar and restaurant feature local Quebec cuisine and is a gem. The service was excellent as was the atmosphere.

We had 9 people and they sat 5 at a table and 4 at the bar and we were completely fine with the arrangement. It is quaint and small and we could see our family and even shared some food since we Were close enough. The cheese fondue is not to be missed . It was absolutely the perfect start to our meal. Then we shared an original poutine and it also was delicious- best I had on our trip thus far! I ordered mussels for my meal and a steaming pot arrived and they were yummy. Ambiance and service were great. They accommodated our awful French attempts. Drinks were large. Honestly, I feel lucky to have dined here. Everything was wonderful!

The beers change regularly, so they have the current ones on a chalk board rather than printed in the menu. The beers were very good. The young woman serving our table provided good service, although she spoke French so rapidly it was hard for us to follow. We are native English speakers. Both of us ordered the Caesar salad and I ordered the grilled chicken extra for around $5 more. We ended up splitting the chicken. Our food arrived around 15 minutes later and there was a lot of it. The grilled chicken addition had excellent flavor. If they offer a grilled chicken main dish, we would strongly recommend that. The salad was fresh and had a lot of things in it, especially capers. I love capers and ate a number from my wife's salad. On the negative side, the salad did not have much of the Caesar dressing. Overall, we enjoyed the dinner here. The restaurant was lively, the service was great, and the food and drink were good. We may return here for another meal.

The service was great, our server was patient with us wanting to speak French. We drank white wine, Picpoul and Cider. The food, however fell below expectation. Caesar salad was made with wilted dry lettuce not crisp romaine. A generic sauce and generic croutons and parmasen atop. It was inedible. 6 Chicken wings were OK but the tiniest of wings ever. The Tao sauce was generic. Deep fried cornichons were not tiny cornichons but large pickles. These were OK. The French Onion soups was inedible for me but Pablo liked it. It was thick and tasted like it had come out of a catering can. All in all I think the term is "getting away with it" but the crowds seemed to like it.

That means, no basic ingredients like citrus are used. That's basically telling the bartender they cannot make 99% of cocktails in mind and have to take risks to make something tasty happen. That concept in itself is a recipe to create things that will be genuinely and authentically Canadian. In other words, experimentation at its finest. Opened in 2024 by the team behind Quebec City's only 2 Michelin starred restaurant, Taniere, this is now the spot to be for those in the know. So, how is trial and error going of crafting something genuinely Canadian? Cocktails are superb on both taste and presentation. The food is remarkably plated with extremely high quality ingredients. Everything tastes excellent. If that's not enough, the entire interior looks like a very private club and the team of servers and bartenders is superb and welcoming.

I also hadn't had a charcuterie board this trip yet, so splurged on one here. It came with three types of cheese, three types of meats, two types of pickled onions, traditional cucumber pickles, pumpkin seeds, cranberries, an onion puree, a mustard puree, and bread. First off, I appreciated they actually provided the appropriate bread-to-other ratio. I feel like normally you run out of bread while eating a board but I actually had bread leftover with this meal! The cheese and meat were good of course, but I want to make a special call out to the onion puree, which was like condensed French onion soup, and the cucumber pickles, which were some of the best pickles I've had because they tasted so fresh, like they had just been brined. All of this on a deck looking out towards the river. Stop by here after late afternoon cruise with Croisieres ML across the road to continue enjoying the river view! Logistics: - indoor and outdoor seating - limited street parking nearby - several complex mocktail options available. I wanted to try one so bad but I was too full for more!
