I am so so glad that this gem is so close. I have lived in la Mirada my entire 26 years of living and never knew this place existed till this week! I came in to get a few links taken off my watch (they only charged $10) and was helped by the sweetest woman. When I walked in she greeted me with a smile and helped me out quickly. I made the mistake of taking out an extra link and she gave me a few days to come back and fix it, if I wasn't satisfied, which I ended up doing! She was kind about it and did it without hesitation. Not only did he make me feel welcome, he actually cared about my situation. I took in what was essentially a "throw-away" watch -- my Disney Mickey watch. When I heard that I resigned myself to the fact that I was going to loose a favorite watch. However, Juan would not have any of that. He converted my watch by replacing the quartz movement and battery, and he polished my watch giving it a "like-new" appearance. Now Mickey will continue to keep time for me. I have a Tag Heuer watch and every time the battery needs replacing, it's a pain in the neck and expensive. I normally take it to Ben Bridge Jewelers, where it takes about 3 weeks because the watch has to be sent out and it runs me about $45-$55! Two nights ago I was picking up dinner next door at Midori, and thought I'd give these guys a try. I'm so glad I did! The repair took less than 5 minutes and only cost $20. The two gentlemen that helped me were very courteous and a complete pleasure to deal with. I will be coming back with my other watch :) Update - I returned to have the battery replaced in my other watch and they did another great job :) I've since returned with our wedding rings to have them cleaned and polished. I didn't realize that although platinum is very strong, it also scratches quite a bit and after 12 years of daily wear, they had been beat up pretty badly. Our rings look almost brand new! read more

I am so excited! I have a Apple Watch band that I absolutely loved and was disappointed they didn't make this particular band for Gear S2 classic. Came to get the battery in my watch replaced and got back the watch with a scratch on the back of watch. When I addressed the scratch the worker said that its the back, you always get scratches there. At least address the issue that you scratched it rather than brushing off a mistake you made. Can't do anything about it now. The watch wasn't even returned polished. It had all of his greasy finger prints on it. I guess I will go somewhere less convenient in the future. I bought a new Stuhrling watch online, and the band was way too big. Also had an old Casio digital that had been in a drawer for a couple of years with a dead battery. I took both to Quartz Time in La Mirada, and was immediately impressed by their courteous and knowledgeable staff. Took a watch here to get a band put on for my boyfriend for his birthday on a Wednesday night and was told it would be ready by Thursday. I go in Thursday to pick it up and they tell me the watch guy is gone for the night and he never even looked at it. So the older man then said he would try, after waiting about 30 minutes he tells me I must have ordered the wrong band because it's not going on correctly...etc. and to leave it for Friday for the watch guy to take a look and he should be able to do it. Come Friday, I get a call from the actual watch guy this time and he tells me the same thing. It's impossible because the band is wrong and I need to send it back and tell them. My boyfriend's birthday was Saturday and after they wasted my time just to tell me they couldn't do it and it was "impossible" I took it somewhere else where the guy said he could Definitely do it after just looking at it.
