Plenty of TV surrounding the walls and a fish tank diving the bar area and dining area. I came here on Thursday evening for the rib special. I ended up getting an full rack of ribs!! Stopped here for a drink and I ended up having one of their daily weekday specials. I had a half rack of ribs fall off the bones delicious and some chips for six dollars. You can't beat that they have different specials every day during the week. Three friends and I went here midafternoon for lunch at around 3:30pm. It was not crowded. The place had sports games on the TV's for sports lovers. Our server was not particular friendly. I ordered the miso salmon. It believe it came with Brussel sprouts, but they were out of them. I looked at the other sides and I chose the sweet potato fries. She said that was an add on, and I would be charged extra. I thought this was not classy, since they were out of the other side. I ordered them anyway, and told her my objections. The server said she would try to finagle them to be complementary. When I got the check, there was no extra charge for them. That was good, but they probably shouldn't have suggested an up-charge to begin with. My dish was tasty, and it was a nice portion. I think I would have given the place a higher rating if it wasn't for the non-friendly server and the issue with the alternative side. All in all, a decent place. After many many years of passing by multiple Quarterdeck Restaurants, I FINALLY dined here with my family this past Tuesday. The weather was sweater weather but we still dined outside. It wasn't too many people so that was a definite plus. I had the mangrove margarita which the waitress was a customer favorite. I can see why because it tasted so good. So I had to order another one. I also had the clam chowder which was so good especially for the weather. And I loved they had oyster crackers because not too many restaurants have that. We also had the mahi mahi fingers which was really good. We had the Grander burger for entrees and I think it's one of the best burgers I ate. It was so flavorful and delicious. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the service was kind of mediocre. The waitress didn't really seem too friendly or personable. Tonight was my 3rd time at Quarterdeck, but we had a great experience. Anthony and the rest of the team of servers were attentive. Anthony made great suggestions for our dinners and even steered us towards some deals they were offering based on what items we wanted to order. They offer a great selection of drinks and food items during happy hour. Their stone crab chowder was my favorite. It was hearty and flavorful. The crab was perfectly complemented by bacon and corn and made it so decadent. The French onion soup was topped off with a gorgeous baked cheese crust. The blackened mahi mahi was fresh and perfectly cooked. My kids enjoyed their steak and ribs. The Caesar salad was crisp and coated with lots of cheese and creamy dressing, which was appreciated. One of the beautiful things about Yelp is the fact that it allows us to celebrate when a business in our community is doing things right and that is the case at Quarterdeck on University Drive, in front of Nova, where today I enjoyed one of the most amazing times out with co-workers. It was particularly great because of the service and the atmosphere they have created for their patrons. My group consisted of over a dozen people, all with different tastes and personalities to match, and they were able to accommodate us at the last minute without a problem, and made us all feel at home. Juliana, our server, was incredibly wonderful. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and overall patient. All qualities that you want in someone handling your food. Chuck, the manager, was equally wonderful. He made sure our party was taken care of every minute. Which brings me to the star the visit, the drinks and the food. Our group ordered diverse plates. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, which is the lunch special on Mondays. It was delicious. The accompanying fries were perfectly crispy, the meat flavorful, and rich. Several in my party ordered the Mahi, and all thought the Mahi was excellent as well. I also got a Foghorn cocktail, which was out of this world. With the fries and the Philly Cheesesteak, it definitely hit the right cord and set the mood for a perfect afternoon. And then to top off everything, in walked in a crew led by Miami Heat Coach Erik Spoeltra. Their table seemed to enjoy the atmosphere, the service, and their meals as well. All in all, I highly recommend this Quarterdeck. Chuck is doing an amazing job. He truly seems passionate about what he does, which is lead his staff and his restaurant properly, while taking care of his customers and providing them with the best service possible. Growing up quarterdeck was always a go-to for my family to have great bite in the neighborhood and watch some sports game. The outdoor seating area is spacious with tons of seating, and personally it is not too hot for me to sit outside with all the fans. My mom still goes every week to Quarterdeck with her friends, and the waitstaff treats them so great. They loved one waiter so much that they all gave him a wedding gift! Now, we get Michael a lot, and we really like him! The staff is always accommodating of big parties, or of any requests we have. The food is pretty typical bar food in my opinion, but I haven't had anything I do not like. My go to order is the wings! Quarterdeck has some of my favorite wings in south Florida, and I can never pass them up! Also, they have some pretty good specials and Happy Hour that they run, so always be on the lookout for that! read more

But let's talk about the food - it was delicious! And then, there was Jeremy I'm not sure if it's appropriate to mention a specific employee in a review, but I just can't help myself. I am just very honored to have worked with this restaurant for my coworker's retirement party! I reached out months earlier to reserve a date and time and they made sure we had the best outside area! I delivered the cake the day before and they had room in their freezer for it. The day of the party I got there early and one server and the manager, Josh, helped me with decorations. Everything was set to go! Michelle and Jeremy were our servers for 31 people total! We had a blast and our guest of honor was so surprised! She even loved her Tom Collins and Rum and Coke! The mahi francaise was horrible. The fish was barely edible and the bed of spaghetti it was served on was the worst pasta I've had in years. It came with broccoli which was all but tasteless My friend had a hamburger she said was ok, I noticed she left most of it on the plate. For a cocktail I had a rum billet which was on par with the food as in not tasty. Even the water at this place tastes terrible . After going here twice in one week I figured I would have been really prepared for this review, but truth be told I struggled for a star rating here. Service was consistently great both times. The staff was very attentive to refilling drinks, checking in, adding to the order, etc. They would get a 5/5! They were both super upbeat and made the experience that much more enjoyable. Happy hour good was great! They offer half price apps and well drink specials for happy hour weekdays 4-6pm the apps range from $10-18 so half price is a great deal and they don't cut the portion size! For happy hour we opted for the fried calamari, lobster fritters and a side order of curly fries. The lobster fritters were my favorite! Well seasoned fritter with a good amount of lobster throughout, would definitely recommend! Drinks were also great! I got a few Moscow mules that we're also discounted for HH. The lunch good on the other hand would probably get a 2.5 rating. They also feature some $8.99 lunch specials. Me and my friend opted for the 2 classic sushi rolls and was super under impressed. They were super small, one roll had 8, the other had 6. Hardly any rice and fish. The dipping sauces all came on the side. The eel sauce had an odd taste to it and the spicy mayo wasn't great either, just not what I was used to. Our second new place of the day for Yelps first Friday's. Quaterdeck is a restaurant in search of an identity. Their menu is all over the place with options that include; sushi, steaks and burgers, salads, seafood and sandwiches. They also have a full bar and as such could be billed as a sports bar because of all the TVs showing sports. My wife had a pecan crusted chicken salad which she said was serviceable. She commented that the greens tasted like they sat in the vinaigrette all day. The chicken tasted fine to me. I had a blackened mahi mahi sandwich which had some roasted peppers, greens and aioli on it as well as fried pickles. The fried pickles were a nice touch. My sandwich came with a choice of french fries, tator tots or coleslaw. I chose the slaw. It was a huge portion and was some of the best slaw I've had in quite some time. Hakeem our server was very attentive and the staff were all observing all the social distancing practices, they even did a temperature check when we walked in. I like that they have outdoor seating as I will not eat indoors at a restaurant during the current pandemic. Their varied menu is sure to offer something you would like. I've been a fan of this Quarterdeck location for some time. It's always been my favorite place to watch games, meet with friends, eat & drink. I haven't been here since Covid, but have to say, I'm disappointed. I always dine outside & love the big screen TV. Today my friend & I went to eat lunch and watch the NBA playoff game, Golden State & Memphis. The sound was off & had no subtitles. We asked our server if the sound could be turned up a little. It was not busy outside while we were there & there were other customers who were watching as well. She said she would ask the manager. It took awhile for her to return & she said the volume could not be turned up. I asked why since its the playoffs & they're a sports bar? She, with very little enthusiasm, said that they're not considered a sports bar, but a bar & grill. WHAT?? That's the first time I've ever heard that. And for all the times I've been there to watch a game & all of the TVs showing various games, that's ridiculous! What's the point of showing any games then??? I said to her, at the least they could put subtitles on, but evidently not per the manager who I found out was named Joe. The food & drinks were still good but seemed to be smaller portions now. Service slower & not as efficient. And it wasn't as clean as it normally is, especially the bathroom. So I guess I'll have to find a real sports bar. read more
