Doesn't set a good environment to learn in, but I was able to find some good people and people who I was able to study and jive with. - Been burnt **numerous** times by this program but they will always find a way in their policies and disclosures somewhere to cover themselves and make you pay // have whatever your concern is be your fault (I'm big on personal accountability, but they have zero as an organization). - Not to mention them strong arming me to cut my hair off that took 9 years to grow when I first started the program. Pathetic school, only go here if you want practice at getting "hassled" how the airlines will hassle you (- at least that's pretty much what they tell you when you bring up any concerns with them). To the owner or whoever will respond: don't bother. I'm not open to further discussing incompetencies on either side because neither of us will agree with each-other, I'll just be taking my business elsewhere.

I was told by the school recruiter at the time of my enrollment that it was probable that I could…read moreget all my endorsements after 12 months. It's been 14 months now and I only have my PPL. Recourses are few and far between for as many students they have. It has been that way for more than an a year. And has not improved as they keep getting more students. Instruction is lacking as well, I have gone many lessons with different instructors and pass my requirements with them only to fail stage check horribly (final check before check ride) so much so the stage check employee wonders how I wasn't tested on the same line items before. I am a pretty hard worker when it comes to studying, I'm usually at school everyday when I am not scheduled to be there. And I spend about 8 hours there studying and practicing while I'm not scheduled. I have an average intelligence, so it really bothers me because I don't know what I can do other than go to a different school. Scheduling has also been a huge concern over this past year. It is aeroguard standard that you only know your schedule the day prior at 5 pm! They post there schedule at 5pm the day prior everyday you have 1 day a week your not supposed to be scheduled. Which is something I can deal with for 1 year, But because 95% student in training is going to take longer than a year, because lack of resources. Myself and most of other student have been going a month without flying! Stage checks take about 30 days to schedule out and check rides take about 30 days at aeroguard to schedule out. When I'm not on a stage check I'm scheduled 2 days a week on average which explains why currently the pass rate for instrument check 7 out of 10 students fail first attempt as an average. If you are considering going to this school please ask actual students how often they're getting scheduled, or how many times they get miss scheduled them which results in delays how old are the planes, how often they break down. Management is very nice they really do try their best, but the owner prioritizes the flight school business profits, and not the students. This flight school will kick you out if they find out you have a side job and they reserve the right to kick you out for a multitude of other reasons. However they are not held accountable for their lack of resources, whether it's planes, management staff, scheduling or lack of instruction. Please do your own research and don't be lazy in signing up for a flight school.

If you are looking to take a glider ride or getting a glider license this is the place to do it…read more It's not the cheapest but it will most likely be the fastest. They operate most every day the weather allows and in AZ that's almost every day. They have several instructors with several different personalities. Another reviewer said they didn't particularly like the owner. I could see how some people might not like his style. You are learning to fly. Not be polite. I get along with Jason just fine and he's been my instructor on all but a couple flights. If you're looking for a thrill take the aerobatic ride. It's more fun than any roller coaster you've ever been on. If roller coasters aren't your thing the just take the regular ride. Either ride lasts about 20 minutes. Did I mention gliding isn't cheap. The best time to take a ride or learn in AZ is in the winter. The days are cool and the air is smooth. You don't stay up as long but you learn more. As it gets hotter out you can stay up longer riding the thermals but it's definitely a lot bumpier. The cost. A lot. They have the averages but no one is average. An hour of dual instruction costs $75 for the instructor. But that kind of misleading. You pay a min of 20 min per flight. Many of your flights will be 10 min. The same for the plane. In my case since I'm 240 lbs I need to fly the more expensive glider that is also a little harder to learn in. $75 an hour for that and the same min of 20 minutes. Now add in the tow plane. $50 for the first thousand feet and $1.50 per hundred after that. $150 a flight average is probably a good rule of thumb. They say that the numbers of flights to solo is about your age. I'm closer to 60 than 16 so it took me about 57 flights to solo. Add to that I have thousands of hours in airplanes from Cessna 150's to Airbus 320's. If you find yourself exceeding what it takes to get a private license and you have enough or almost enough time to go for the commercial license then get it. The standards for a commercial aren't really any harder to learn than the standards for a private pilot. The cost now says to get a private pilot airplane license are around 12k. (What I just paid for my 19 yo son). For my commercial glider add on rating. About the same. Flying gliders isn't cheap. But it is fun and challenging.
