This place is special! Sadly, we were just passing through so we only got to stop in twice. I had a coffee drink i can't remember the name of (maybe Bigfoot?) with cayenne in it and it was outstanding. They have a really good selection of coffees and teas. The prices advertised are not the prices that they charge you even after calling it to their attention they keep saying the price has gone up but they have not noted that on their large price board that has a big arrow pointing to it as you come in. Price on price board for large cold brew is $3. They're charging $4.84 when it comes up. That type of a price increase needs to be noted quickly or honor what you have up there. read more

Cute coffee shop in Cherokee, NC. Most of their beans come from a Columbia as one of the owners is from Columbia. Apparently the occasional get beans from elsewhere and roast on site. We were in the area, cold, and looking for a great coffee shop to warm our bodies! I did a Google search and this place came to the top of the list. It's a native-owned coffee shope based on the Qualla Boundary in Cherokee, North Caroline. Very cute coffee shop with friendly helpful staff. They were quite busy...which to me meant the coffee must have been great! Their were locals and visitors which made for a great mix of customers/conversation. Anyhow, let's get to the coffee! First it smells wonderful in here! And the coffee selections were many. Hubby went with the fresh brewed coffe called Peace Maker. It had vanilla and cinnamon powder. I tasted his and it was yummy--not overpowering-great balance of the two and still could taste the coffee. I went with a latte called Worn Blanket. I enjoy Irish cream and this one had it plush hazelnut and cocoa powder. Very delish and I enjoyed every bit of it. If you are in the area, visit them. I am sure they will have something you would enjoy for the coffee lover in you. Totally worth the visit. read more

Normally I drink my coffee black or with a dash of almond milk, but while on vacay I figured I could treat myself to some local coffee. I ordered a small Sacred Formula and my father ordered a small Cold brew coffee. The Sacred Formula was wayyyyyyyyy to sweet for my liking, but again, I never normally put sugar in my coffee. The Cold brew was very bold and acidic. My father thought it was a bit too bold so when we both made enough room in our cups we mixed our drinks together which made it just perfectly sweet. Unless you're used to sweet coffee I recommend ordering a regular cup of coffee or request less sweetener in your drink. Overall it was a good experience and a very cute coffee shop. You can look through a window and see the coffee roaster which is super cool. read more

While on a rotation at the hospital in Cherokee, this coffee shop had everything I could ask for. I found myself here multiple times for several reasons: the great quality of the coffee drinks, the huge menu of options, the reasonable hours (open till 7 on weekends), the friendly atmosphere from the employees, free wifi with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the beautiful view of the Oconaluftee River. I have enjoyed every drink I've gotten from here as all of them have a rich distinct taste; however, my favorite would probably be Soco Creek. I would definitely recommend any of the cold drinks as they are strong enough to keep you awake for a long day. I do wish the coffee shop had more food options especially for people who stay there for a good amount of time. read more

Really great place! I wanted something with a little spice and asked if the First Fire could be made cold or if the barista had any good suggestions and he suggested one that wasn't on the menu called the Bigfoot. I believe it was an iced latte with white chocolate, cinnamon, and cayenne pepper. And there might have been something else in there, but I can't remember what all went in to it. It was awesome! I had to come back the next morning to get another one before I left Cherokee. And now that I'm back home and far away I'm craving it like mad. read more

The coffee and specialty drinks are really great... BUT, we stopped here twice while in town visiting the Smokies and both times it took well over 20-30 minutes to get a simple coffee order. I'm very sensitive to the fact that they were training a couple of new baristas, but they did not have a good system for getting in-house orders and mobile orders done in a timely manner. Both type of orders were stacked up and not making progress. Both orders before mine turned around and handed their coffee back because it was lukewarm. Again, the coffee and lattes are excellent. The ground coffee I got from them is really good also. But the efficiency at this place is definitely lacking. Worth the stop if you have extra time to blow. read more

Wow wow wow. This was so unexpectedly delicious. After hiking waterfall trails all morning my partner and I stopped in Cherokee to poke around shops and grab a warm drink. I had been craving a hot chocolate all weekend and was so happy to see they offered a big variety of drinks here. I ended up ordering the First Fire - a spicy mocha coffee drink with sweetened condensed milk. The barista suggested decaf as I mentioned not wanting something that would keep me up all night as it was already 3pm. He was friendly and so patient while we combed through the large menu. My partner got a delicious latte with blackberry syrup- the Raven Mocker. Unassuming and in a strip mall, we were so pleasantly surprised and keep talking about how good this place was. We stopped by driving through Cherokee after reading reviews about how unique the place was. Qualla lives up to the hype. I ordered a white chocolate amaretto coffee which was strong and not too sweet. Wife ordered a cold hazelnut coffee, which was weird considering she was saying how cold she was and how much she wanted to warm up, but whatever. The barista poured a liberal amount of espressos and syrups for truly delightful smooth concoctions that pleased us both. And best of all, it's not that nasty overpriced Starbucks. I don't know if I will have the opportunity to come back by, but I will if I can. read more
