My Nissan Altima Hybrid died on highway. It was towed to dealer and got 12V AGM battery replaced, the car would still not crank. The dealer would charge $400 for diagnosis, also citing possible hybrid battery issues, which would make fixing not worth it. Got it towed back to home and got another technician to do the diagnosis, yield nothing. I heard about this shop and get the car towed there, they found out the issue (ignition coil shorted) in a day and replaced all the coils, at a fration of the price others would charge! Found their smog check pricing is also the lowest.......this will be my shop, even if it is 30 miles away! read more

I've experienced many repair shops throughout my life time and couldn't believe how QUALITY AUTO went far and beyond their scope of duty to assist us. We live in Las Vegas and conduct business from time to time in the Bay Area. We have a BMW commuter vehicle in Bay Area for our travels when we fly into the bay. As my wife was in Northern California driving to work the alternator went out so she called AAA. AAA Went to nearest shop. This shop thought they'd take advantage of a stranded woman. Nevertheless, after hours of waiting on estimate this shop comes up with an estimate for an alternator in the amount of $2,500 plus!!! THAT WAS A JOKE!!!!! I had to get involved as I was in Las Vegas. I called Auto Zone to price an alternator. The cost was no more than $75.00. As my wife was in Fremont, Ca I called my son who had some work done with QualityAuto in the past. I explained our situation. The Owner of Quality Auto gave me price. This company went way out of their way to accommodate our needs knowing our situation by not just opening up their shop earlier then normal but price matched Auto Zone price and couldn't believe their professionalism, honesty, loyalty and the utmost customer service we received. Customer Service is hard to come by in today's world. It was nothing I had ever experienced. We were Blessed and very fortunate that we found QUALITY AUTO. When I started to go to this shop and the service manager was Eddie the service was very good and that made me come back for more service. The next time I came in for service Eddie was gone but the owner was there and I received excellent service for both cars and a major brake job on my Kia. the price was high but I was very pleased. When I went back to this shop about 3 weeks ago the owner was not there but a different service manager was taking over and the service was good. Today I bought my Kia in for service and the same service manager was there but I asked the mechanic does the owner come in any longer as things did not seem right and he said later. I was in for an oil change and tire rotation and about an hour and a half later, I waited in store, the service tech asked me to come to the car and showed me that my wished fluid was leaking and did I want to fix it. I asked him how much and how long to fix it and he said he had to see if the manager could get it. About 20 minutes later I asked the manager what was goin on with my car and he said we are waiting for an oil filter. I asked why did the mechanic not tell me that when he told me about the leak and he could not answer but said sorry. When there car was now there for 2 hours I asked where is the filter and said I booked this yesterday in the morning and a filter should have been there. He said he may have to go get it. About 10 minutes later it showed up but there was not one around to bring it to the tech and get me out of the shop. The car was finally done and I asked about the pump to fix the leak and when would they get it. He said he would cll later later and tell me. the day is over with no call and I called twice before they closed and no one answered. I finally got a hold of one of the owners and he said he could not get them to answer and he would get back to me. He did not. There is a big problem with this shop now as the service manager cannot be the service writer and service manager at the same time as he cannot be in 2 places at the same time. there is a problem now with the ownership of this store and it is sad as it once was a good shop. Everybody who was there for service today said the same thing as they waited much too long and one customer even drove away with his car. I had to walk in and wait for someone who was trying to hassle me. They said that they need to put in a hose so I can drive it home. Viet worked on my car and was very thorough. Prices were reasonable. You get a sense of their quality of work by taking a look at their facilities: Bathrooms and waiting area are clean. Car was towed in by AAA. Shop was professional, and gave me correct rate for replacing a starter in a old CIVIC. Just for comparison.....Here i paid $160 for diagnosis + $400 for parts and labor. I called Pep Boys in Union city (which used to be a good shop a decade ago) and for the same job, they quoted me $800 + tax. Also for comparison, i had done a similar job on a similarly old civic 4 years ago and that cost me $350 or so (which shows the inflation + covid effect on economy of 2022). This shop was so great, that the technician who worked on the car, took me for a ride, to explain about a noise issue that i wanted checked out (in addition to the above mentioned repairs). This shop diagnosed it properly and was kind enough to let the tech talk to me about it. Even in Honda dealership, i have not had such good service. read more

It is unfortunate to write a bad review. But this business needs to be reported for malpractice. I purchased a Groupon for oil change for Quality Auto last week. I booked an appointment and mentioned about the Groupon. The operator misheard about the make of my car as Audi and said that it will not work. But when I said its not Audi but Odyssey, they said yes that would work (they would have looked that Groupon is for synthetic blend and not full synthetic). I went ahead and booked the appointment. I took my Odyssey for oil change today as per the appointment and mentioned about the Groupon upfront before any work was started. They did not tell me that they do not accept or will not accept the Groupon. Once the work was done, the front desk calls the owner who refuses to accept the Groupon eventhough it was mentioned before the work started. They should have not started the work without telling me about this clearly. This is blatantly ripping off people and not being transparent. I had to pay almost more than double the amount I paid for Groupon or would have paid at other oil change locations I usually go to off late. They do not care about losing customers. So be it. I would want to warn other about the malpractice. Refrain from going to this place. Much better places/businesses in Fremont. I have friends and family who started coming here. My car's dashboard warning lights kept turning on and off. I called to schedule an appointment and they said "just come in now and we'll take a look." I was expecting a very pricey fix. However, Eddie took a quick look, identified the issue, called my dealership and verified his suspicions that the necessary fix was under warranty. He sent me on my way to get the fix at the dealership and he wouldn't even accept a payment for his diagnostics / time. He was so incredibly helpful and saved me a ton of money. Although I live in Sunnyvale and it's extra effort to bring my cars here for repair/maintenance, I still do that because I trust these folks and they provide quality work at very reasonable price For my 2007 Subaru Forester which had the notorious engine oil leakage issue, they had done a good job fixing up the engine at a lower price than quoted by another shop in Sunnyvale (2800 vs 3500). Also replaced bunch of rubber o-rings for the fuel tank which had been alarming due to vacuum leakage. So far for 6mo, no more check engine light and the 12 yr old car runs smoothly It's worth the drive to Fremont for me! read more

This is my first review on Yelp. My mini cooper's engine light was on, went to dealer, they said I needed to replace 5 parts, which would cost me 2000+ $. Then I heard QualityAuto from a friend. I gave them a call and got a very reasonable quote for replacing all the parts that dealer told me to replace. So I took my car there. The guy who helped me was Amor, he's super nice and honest. After carefully inspected, he told me I didn't really have to replace all the five parts, so I only ended up having to replace 1 part which costs me way less. I had bought the tires from them a couple of years ago, so they fixed it for free. Great prices and awesome customer service. I came here after calling around for the best deal on a routine oil change and tire rotation. Most places seem to charge $50-60 for that type of service, but QualityAuto quoted me just over half that. The wait ended up being quite long, especially considering how simple of a service I needed. I was there for 1.5 hours even though there was only one other person in the lobby when I arrived. As an apology for the long wait, the guy at the front desk waived the tire rotation part of my fee without me even asking. These guys run an honest business and really treat their customers well.
