The PSS crew was fantastic. They (a) fixed/replaced the broken pipe, (b) cleaned out and decommissioned the septic tank and (c) got everything hooked into the public sewer with the rest of the house. They took care of all of the town permitting and inspections. They showed up exactly when they said they would. They finished the project on time (3 days) and on budget. After tearing up a piece of our new driveway to get to the pipes, they repaved before they left. Heck, while waiting for the town inspector, the team killed time by helping to shovel some of the snow that had fallen that morning. Something like a hidden septic tank is the stuff of home ownership nightmares. These guys took care of the whole mess quickly and professionally. I would immediately recommend them to anybody else who finds a mystery septic tank in their yard.

Bob and Mauro didn't disappoint! Let's dive in ... Communication (5/5): Other reviews speak to how quick Bob is to address emergencies - and while this wasn't an emergency by any stretch - when I first called Bob he answered right away. He was a very clear communicator in discussing scope, their capabilities, costs, and timing. Quality (5/5): Mauro was incredible on-site! He was courteous and a true professional. He took care of both slow draining sinks in a timely manner and even told me about a part under one of the sinks that could be troublesome down the road. He took care of the sewer scope with ease and was truly kind and welcoming when he had me watch his work examining the drains. Value (5/5): The initial quote from Bob and final bill were certainly reasonable and the work completed truly met/exceeded expectations! TL;DR: We found our new go-to local plumber and couldn't be happier! Bob and Mauro are true professionals and took care of the drain scoping and slow drains with ease. I can't recommend them more to anyone whether facing a plumbing emergency or routine maintenance.

We would highly recommend Frank and Pace Drain. Thank you!

L Richards Plumbing was a great company to work with. They were the second out of three companies…read morewe consulted for the job. Our decision was made based on Gale who provided me with great customer service by answering my questions and concerns with such professionalism and patience. She had someone at our house within the hour to assess the situation at hand. That, someone, was Kenny. He assessed the situation and advised us that someone will contact us with a price. I honestly thought the leaks we had from our bathroom through the kitchen ceiling (already made holes in our ceiling) were going to cost us both our arms and legs. Gale called us back with a very reasonable and fair price for the work to be done. Which was to find the leaks, repair them and replace both our toilet and vanity. We agreed on the set price and scheduled for work to start the next day. Kenny showed up bright and early and on time with a mask on. He wore it at all times. He did all the purchases of materials needed, breakdown, repairs, and installations. What I was most worried about was the mess that I would have to deal with afterward. There was nothing much for us to do but to sweep a second time, wipe down, and mop because he cleaned up after himself, took out all the garbage, and took everything with him. That's including the old toilet and vanity plus the boxes the new ones came in. We were so impressed by that because the other companies told us we would be responsible for all of that. After the work was done, he advised us to call in immediately if we saw or heard any leaks. The only call I had to make was a "Thank you" one. I don't know about anyone else but from beginning to the end it was an amazing experience and a job very well done! We highly recommend their services to all and anyone we know! Thank you very much Gale and Kenny at L Richards Plumbing & Heating! If we ever need you again we will definitely give you a call.

He also noticed (and the super told him) the steam trap needed to be replaced. Pleasant, efficient. All done in one day even though he had to go out to get a part. Other is they should ask customer to send a photo so they can see if they need another person before they come out.

We hired A Real Good Plumber (Paul Shay) in July 2026 under a signed $4,000 contract to restore gas…read moreservice to our three-family building in the Bronx - a building sitting without gas, with tenants displaced. The signed contract required a $2,000 "startup payment," which we paid, and included filing the required LAA with the NYC Dept. of Buildings, which he confirmed in writing would be filed within five business days. Twenty-nine days later, the LAA was never filed. Instead, after a site visit, he sent new contracts nearly tripling the price - then claimed the new price was "in addition to" the signed contract, and finally claimed our $2,000 startup payment was actually a "site visit fee," something that appears nowhere in any document he wrote. We terminated for non-performance and demanded the refund; as of this review it has not been returned. Every claim in this review is supported by the signed contract, payment records, and his own emails. Homeowners in urgent situations: get every commitment in writing and watch for re-pricing after the deposit.

You don't need a new toilet. But I insisted it's an old toilet, and would just like to replace the whole thing. Peace of mind. You can tell Jack takes pride in his work. He left the area cleaned and took out the old toilet to the garbage area. After all that was one, he also helped my dad cut and replaced his drop ceiling in his bathroom. That was so kind of him. I actually had no intention of leaving a review, just came here to confirm my suspicions, though…read morenow I feel I should weigh in given the other negative experiences (and the plumber's baffling response to Erin B.). Agree with the concept of grifting. I paid this plumber thousands of dollars to do basic plumbing work in our new co-op, and knew I was being vastly overcharged but did it because he was known to our contractor and building. But here's the RUB: As part of the work, we had the plumber install a water line for an icemaker, and another completely shady outlet, AJ Madison, delivered the wrong refrigerator -- meaning the day BEK Plumbing was finishing work in the kitchen, no icemaker could be installed. Fast forward six weeks -- we finally get the correct refrigerator delivered, and just to come back and finish the work we'd paid for, BEK/Dzema wanted $550. TO HOOK UP AN ICE LINE THAT WE'D PAID HIM FOR. It's so egregious it's almost funny. We were left in the lurch with the wrong refrigerator and he wanted to FURTHER PROFIT off our hardship. Meantime, the dishwasher he installed leaks and doesn't work properly, but in a MILLION YEARS I'd never let this grifter back into our apartment. Clearly with these "business" practices and lack of ethics he's struggling -- and he should. Constantly trying to cheat people catches up with you eventually.
