I must leave this review! I have rented items from other companies, yet never have I experienced this degree of professionalism and personal service... Dan was the ultimate professional who tended to each detail as if he were doing a job for his family. I was to pick up tables and chairs for an event of my daughters. When I arrived I was greeted by the friendly owner, Dan Strong, who would barely let me lift a finger, I did load 5 chairs, as I insisted on helping in the 90+ degree day. Upon return, they would not let me even do that! I will recommend to anyone who wants clean quality equipment and unsurpassed pricing and service. Ray from Cranston read more

I rented chairs for Thanksgiving from them. I was running late and called to see if they would still be there. They had closed the shop, but when I got there, one of the gentlemen opened back up and got the chairs for me. They didn't have to stay past closing and I really appreciated it! read more

From the Business

Specialties

We are a neighborhood rental company with a wide selection of products. This is a satellite store providing equipment rentals like landscaping, construction, and maintenance product. Also carrying party and event rentals, inflatables, games, and party equipment.

History

Established in 1969.

In 1968, Richard Frechette attended a trade show representing a lock company. A blizzard provided ample free time for conversation amongst vendors to flourish. A connection with Taylor Rental reps was made. In 1969 a small Taylor Rental store on York Avenue in Pawtucket, RI was opened with a very limited inventory and a complete family staff. In 1983 a decision was made to consolidate two smaller locations into a much larger location on Walcott Street (cited as the largest Taylor Rental in existence). The North Providence store then moved into a larger building next door. The dedication and reputation of quality in both product and customer service was strong and the decision was made to go independent in 1985. The two new larger locations in Pawtucket and North Providence had now become Quality Rental Centers Inc.

The friendly staff are helpful and can point you in the right direction for what you need. There's an information desk to the left when you walk in and you can usually ask questions there, if there's no one there the cashiers can help. They do so many different things that I didn't know about - they rent power tools and it's super affordable (I rented a sander for 4 hrs for $10), they repair screen doors, they have garden supplies...the list goes on. I'm super happy with the repair they did on my screen door so I'm including a picture.

The till counter also looks like it has been there for years. The aisles are narrow and chock full of just about everything you could want. The staff are very friendly. Definitely a must try and a great way to support a community shop.

Any time I had questions, the owner was incredibly friendly, responsive, and helpful. Lewis Matthews and his partner, (James Farrell I think) were the only people in the basement. Since this is a circumstantial case, no report was made to the police. March 6, 1988, was charged with forgery, counterfeiting and possession of a stolen vehicle on May 31, 2016. There's much more which I will eventually post on Next Door website. This should be a sufficient warning.
