At the time I asked if the work could be completed by Thanksgiving (11/21) to which the answer was maybe. I received the designs on 8/13/21 and accepted the offer 8/14/21. On 8/20/21 I paid a deposit. On 8/31/21 I paid for engineering and permits. We didn't hear anything more from and called to follow up around mid-September asking when the work would start. The demolition started on 9/30/21, for 2 or 3 days. On 10/1/21 I paid for the demolition. Since then nothing more has happened. No one follows up to provide a status. I have emailed on numerous occasions. When I called and spoke to someone, I was told they are waiting for a permit. I followed up by email on 11/9/21 to which I received no answer. I texted the contact person a week later and received no answer. In my last email on 12/1/21, I asked for an estimated work date, in writing. I received an answer to call back. Voicemails never provide any information, just to call back. One rep emailed that he could not reach my phone. I emailed back and verified the number, but received no call or answer to my email. It appears to me they do not want to put anything in writing which makes me feel insecure about how serious they are about their agreements. On 1/6/22, I contacted the BBB indicating that I would like to know when and if they plan to complete the work. On 1/19/22 a Petretti rep emailed that "we will be having a plaster company out at your place to look at the pool to set a date to strip the plaster out." No dates or approximate time frame were provided. IDK

We agreed to weekly (every Wednesday) chemicals and emptying the baskets. Over time, we noticed that the baskets always contained debris after Brian left on Wednesdays. Last Wednesday, I watched Brian do the chemicals, but he did not empty the skimmer basket or filter basket. Immediately after Brian left, I checked both baskets and they were full of bugs and debris. I gave him the benefit of doubt as it might have been an oversight. I wanted to confirm/dispel my suspicion if this was in fact an oversight by Brian. Today, I checked my baskets to verify there were bugs and debris inside. I watched through my window as Brian did the chemicals but again, he did not empty any baskets per the agreement. Immediately after he left, I checked the baskets and they were filled with bugs and debris. I called Brian to verify our agreement. Brian confirmed that our agreement was to perform chemical work and empty the baskets every week. I then explained that my baskets were full of bugs and debris. Brian told me "I'm pretty sure I emptied the baskets but Im not 100% certain. Brian told me he would returned 10 minutes later to empty the baskets. After Brian emptied the baskets, he apologized and said "I think I forgot". I went on to mention that I watched him last week and he did not empty the baskets then either. His  response to me was, "I'm pretty sure I did, but I must have forgotten".  I asked how he would make this right. Brian's response to me was, " I don't know what to tell you. I will make sure to do it going forward". Unfortunately, if Brian could not be honest now, I have no reason to believe that he was honest in the past and would be honest in the future. Therefore, I had no choice but to not move forward with him. If you're looking for a pool guy, don't go with Brian and his company. If you're already using him, I would caution you to hold him accountable to your agreement.
