I've owned my pool for three years. Every summer it has been sparkling, clear and clean. I went to buy chemicals for my pool right before the Fourth of July. Two of Dick Mackey's young employees ran a test on my water and sold me $200 worth of products one product I had never used, it was to pull metals out of the water. I put the product in my pool that night. Twelve hours later when we woke up my sparkling clear pool was COMPLETELY CLOUDY. My pool is so cloudy you can not see to the bottom. I went back to try and fix what had happened two consecutive days after that first visit and was told to do different things and sold more chemicals spending more money. I was so upset and frantic to fix this problem that had never occurred before that I bought more chemicals and followed more of Dick Mackey's instructions. The day before the fourth of July, three days into this ordeal, I confronted Mr. Mackey and was told by him "the smoke from the Canadian wildfires must be causing my pool to be cloudy,". What!? Absolutely not. The smoke in June that was worse NEVER affected my pool. I was sold a product that first day that should never have been put in my pool. I have a huge heater that has copper lines. Mr. Mackey then proceeded to blame ME for the cloudiness of my pool. He told me that I didn't read the directions properly on the papers he had given me, which was totally completely untrue. The papers had also been marked up by him, and his staff. I was told to do the opposite of what was written on the papers. I had the proof right in my hands. On top of Mr. Mackey's disrespectful behavior towards me, two young employees admitted wrong doing. One admitted on the third day he gave me advice on chemicals he should not of and the other who had offered to stop by after work to look at my pool asked me not to mention that he offered to stop by in front of Mr. Mackey "because Mr. Mackey may get the wrong idea". I never had this young man at my house but if that is against the rules why did you offer when I was in the store . On top of ruining my sparkling clear water I've had for three summers in a row, Mr. Mackey refused to let me return chemicals I bought from him In the three days I was at his store frantically trying to follow his instructions to clear my pool. These chemicals were unopened and unused and I had a receipt!? I'm so shocked at this man and his employee's unprofessional behavior, lack of knowledge, excuses, inability to take responsibility for ruining my water, selling me products I didn't need and overall disregard for his customer's distress that I had to write about my experience. The last slap in the face was when Mr. Mackey told me not to get so upset, "his pool has been cloudy all summer and he is still trying to get it clear". I'm sorry sir but my pool was never cloudy and if yours is as you stated you are doing something wrong and again should not be giving advice or selling pool supplies or hiring young kids to sell your pool supplies who have no clue what they are talking about either. So starting off.. i feel that Mr. Mackey spends so much time with his customers which We love. I am a true researcher and "review reader" before i buy anything. Mr. Mackey was able to answer any and all of my questions without hesitation. He is extremely knowledgeable about all spa aspects. We purchased a PDC biscayne luxury spa on July 24th. There is a 20 week wait, not due to quality pools but a shortage and backorder. We welcome the wait as we need to put a deck on and there is a lumber shortage now. This is also a PA company which i feel comfortable about. We cannot wait to receive our hot tub. Thank you Mr. Mackey! Will add to my review once spa is delivered. read more

Today I went to Quality Pools and loaded sand in the back of my car and went inside to pay it was $12.95 a bag. I Said wow the price of everything is gone up so much.. Mr Mackey said did you see the price of gas today how much its went up because of" Biden" my opinion Is being a business owner that you should not express your political views to customers ......... especially when you charge this years price on last years inventory read more

We just bought a house that has a pool and Quality Pools and Spas came and opened it up for the season. The guys were really nice and took the time to educate me on what I had to do for maintenance. Because I fucked early I got a earlybird reduced price! I would definitely recommend them. read more

I gave one star because no stars was not an option. The whole story about why I think you should go anywhere else is way too long to write. But what I will say is that from the moment I met these clowns last year it has continued to cost me money. I'm now up to roughly $2,000 in unnecessary expenses trying to fix their mistakes and oversights. I just discovered that the pump they put in last year is too small for my pool so I now have to buy another. They are less than worthless. The owner is a clueless buffoon who hates his employees. So you can only imagine the customer service you'll get. I can go on for hours about the mind numbing conversations I had with these people as they swindled me out of thousands. But instead, I'll just say go anywhere else. Olympic Pools has been very good to us so far. read more

Please do not use this store. I bought pool chemicals there, and was very clear that I didn't understand the process. Not only was I bamboozled into buying products that can't be used in my pool, but then when I attempted to return them, I was told I couldn't. Okay, a policy is a policy, but the owner was yelling at me, telling me that I probably tampered with the product or gave it to someone that tampered with the product, and berated me. I left the store, and cried in my car. By the way, my products still had the seal on them. This place is a mess, and shouldn't even be in business. This guy is a class A crook. Insists on 100 percent payment up front, he seemed slimy just talking to him, but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. Won't return calls, refuses to answer simple questions, etc.... his own installers whom he recommends to do the installs on the pools he sells even claim he's a POS. The he says he is canceling g my order and I say that's fine and I insist on my money back right now and he refuses.... total jerk... can't believe he's still in business. read more

Since my review was removed from their Facebook page I guess I'll post here .. I normally do not do this type of thing; but when a customer gets an "it's not our fault" vs "let's find a solution" or "we are sorry" answer to our questions/problem then maybe bad reviews wouldn't happen. Zero customer service. We were left even more mad after the phone call then before. Can someone help instead of just push the problem off on someone else? Who's your distributor you seem to blame?? Below is what was deleted :: Let me start by saying before I even walked in the store I called for details. The owner who answered told me 1-2 days and a liner can be ordered and in the store ready for pickup. I decided to go in and place my order the next day. I had a great in-store experience choosing our new liner and was very excited. The salesman informed me that it would be ready within 1-2 days. (I ordered on a Wednesday) He told me if we got the order placed within the next 15 mins, I could possibly have it next day, if not then definitely the day after. That would bring us to Friday. I called Friday morning, no answer- I left a message but got no call back. I called back later on and spoke with the salesman. He informed me my liner was not delivered and they're behind, so on Tuesday it would be in for sure. (Monday was Memorial Day). Well, today is Tuesday- NO LINER. I had my husband call up there, twice. Now they're telling him HOPEFULLY by the end of the week. Really?? hopefully?? We scheduled a liner install for Friday, then rescheduled to Tuesday, my husband took off work to be home, and now the installer we hired might not be available bc it's busy season! So how long do I have to wait now? Are you going to come install it for me then being my hired installer had to be rescheduled TWICE and now we have no clue on a date the product will actually be in? This is ridiculous. We understand it's busy, but PLEASE don't promise a customer something and then not follow through. The salesman kept saying, "it's not our fault". Then who's is it, because I paid you and ordered through you. Not to mention: our pool had a deep end in which we wanted to fill in and make the pool level. We did so, costing us hundreds. Now, the freshly leveled and laid sand has been exposed to weather, and now their calling for bad rain. All of this work was done in a timeframe that QUALITY POOL AND SPA gave us for the liner. Would we have known they were jerking us around, we would have never done the work to the pool leaving it with a risk to cave in (above ground) and potentially ruining the leveled sand. If we were told "next week" we wouldn't have rushed to get the work done for FRIDAY.. Now risking losing time and money and having to redo the work that was done. read more

Horrible customer service. Promise someone a liner by a certain date and now can't follow through, almost a week later andate still nothing.

I would strongly recommend against using their service department. The owner hung up on me twice because I purchased equipment somewhere else. He refused to do scheduled service which was planned weeks ahead of time. Unbelievably awful professionalism, which came directly from the owner. read more
