I advise everyone to be cautious about hiring Shaun Smith for anything. I hired him to help me adopt my step son. My step son came to live with me when he was four years old and has been looking forward to being adopted. I needed help so I sought out legal help from Shaun. Shaun told me this would be no problem, should take more then six months. Well, it has now been SIXTEEN months. I have had to ask the court for three extensions because Shaun keeps on making excuses for his failure. Now I have hired a lawyer and will take him to small claims court to get a complete refund. He failed to keep his side of our legal and binding contract. Replying to your reply. This is not true Shaun. You knew from the start this was an international adoption and that the biological father lived in China. You told my wife and I that you had done this before and that it would be no problem for you. You even charged me for translation fees you said would be needed. You kept leading me on telling me you were working on it and asked me to extend the court date twice so you could find the defendant. YOU LIED Shaun. You never intended to complete this contract, you just took my money and gave us all hope. I will see you in court. read more

I have known Shaun Smith for a long while. His knowledge and service was exceptional in my opinion. I have used his services twice. He unexpectedly contacted me a few days before my court case and helped me prep. I thought I was ready before but I was uneasy about it. After the prep session, I felt industructible. The court system is what sucks and takes forever to process things. Try calling sometime and getting someone who cares on the other end of the line. People are so harsh sometimes in reviewing small businesses and it is sickening. How about we write some reviews on how bad the service is at the court house, the dmv, the board of equalization, or any other state or county run business. I run a small business myself and it hurts when an individual talks negative about it. That has to say something about my customer service if a bad review effects my day. A bad review will never effect a corporate or county/state run business because you don't matter as their consumer. Think about this people the next time you try and bash a small business online. As a small business owner, you are busy every minute of your day and you hope for more hours in the day to try and give everyone the service they deserve. It is impossible, and right when you think you are on top of things, another customer calls with a different issue where you would like to assist. It's a losing battle on a daily battle. I wanted to wait until my divorce was final to leave my review so I could explain my full experience with Quality Law for Less. Since it's looking like I need to finish my document preparation on my own after almost 2 yrs working with Shaun, I'll leave it now. Things were great in the beginning. His availability is hit and miss since he's between several offices, but he still works with you and is typically very responsive. I went with the flat fee for unlimited documents preparation since I knew it could take some time to finalize everything. My ex was represented by a lawyer and I represented myself. I felt like Shaun made sound recommendations based on experience and did his best to file documents and serve my ex in a timely manner. I always felt like I understood the process while we met but then when I went to court, I didn't feel as prepared as I'd hoped. Everything was fine in the first 6 months, my ex and I were in and out of court and Shaun made sure we were current on our docs that were filed. Fast forward almost a year later, my ex's lawyer never finalized our divorce, and now Shaun won't respond to any of my emails or texts. I guess that means he doesn't want me as a client anymore, for reasons unknown. The least he could have done was refer me to someone else so I could finish up. I spent more money to meet with a lawyer to look over where I'm at and what still needs to be done to finalize my divorce. It turns out a whole chunk for property and debts was never completed, so now I'm on my own with all of that and will be looking for another document preparation assistant. I'm really disappointed with my experience since I've already referred Quality Law out to other friends and family based on my earlier experience. Unfortunately, I guess if the money runs out and your case takes too long, you're no longer a priority client. Lesson learned. read more

RIPOFF. Hired in early April to respond to OSC. Many errors/typos in paperwork & after notice, many never corrected. After 1 month Shaun dropped off the map. NO RRPLIES to phone messages, text messages or emails. And eventually thr voice mail box filled up & is still full after 2nd month. There's a lot more to do & he's disappeared. read more

We came here for help in filing for guardianship of our nieces last year. The Sacramento County Courts are horrible to deal with and make the process and paperwork so confusing. In my job, I work with the courts often dealing with things like this, and it was still so difficult and confusing, so we decided to look for legal help. Obviously attorney's offices are ridiculously expensive, so luckily we found Quality Law and they had a great package deal that covered all of the costs needed to do all our paperwork throughout multiple hearings in the process to file for an ex-parte, get temporary guardianship, and then permanent guardianship. All we had to do was give Shaun the information and he took care of all the paperwork. Then when the Sacramento County Court staff was so difficult in making changes to the procedures and finding ridiculous things to send us away for, we had to make changes and come back for four straight days before they would even let us get in the courtroom for the judge to read our paperwork. During those four days, I was constantly having to call/text/email Shaun, including sometimes late at night to have paperwork ready for our next early morning attempt to file. True to his word, he made any changes needed and did not try charging us for anything else, despite all the extra work he had to do. Those few days were hell for us having to go back to court every day, missing work, and trying to get this guardianship so we could take care of things for our nieces and protect them. It was so nice to be able to call Shaun and have him fix all the paperwork since we were already so overwhelmed. Then when the next hearings came and we needed to send notices and prepare other paperwork, Quality Law took care of all that as well. I was really amazed that that one very reasonable fee covered all the paperwork for all the hearings! It was so worth the price to not have to spend hours trying to figure out the complex paperwork and procedures ourselves and being able to call someone who understood these things when we needed help or had questions. This is such a needed service in our community as there are so many who have to do things like this in court, but cannot afford an attorney. Now in my job whenever I am working with a family that is looking to apply for guardianship, I always give them the information for Quality Law so they have an option to get some affordable legal help. I did not know before this that there were places like this, certified to do legal paperwork. I definitely recommend them if you need to file for something like a guardianship or other Family Law matter where you need help filling out all the paperwork and filing, but you don't really need the services of a lawyer, which most of us can't afford anyway. read more

I hired Quality Law to get divorced 10 months ago. A couple months after not hearing from him I attempted to contacted him via email, text and phone too many times to count. Finally had to have someone else try to contact him and that did the trick! (intentionally dodging my calls) I told him I at least want some of my money back because he was only able to file for the divorce, not serve my ex, nor anything else. Told me he would not return my money and would get back on my case and that he wasn't intentionally dodging my calls, but that he had not contacted me previously because he had multiples emergencies. And funny enough, promised I would hear from him next week. No surprise, here were are a couple months later of dodging my calls, not divorced and scammed out of my money. Everyone beware, this place will make false promises, take your money and dodge you as much as possible. Hopefully this gets your attention finally! read more
