Trash and equipment around the outside perimeter.

A terrible stay! Room wasn't ready at 4 pm (2 hrs after check in), room had new furniture but you could tell it was set up (?) in haste, and the toilet didn't flush. After 2 hours trying to repair it we were given the only other room available which had a broken security lock--door was taped up and a simple door knob lock was what was being used. But, at 10pm and traveling with an 86 yo mother what can you do except stay and get out of there as quickly as possible in the morning. Trash was overflowing in all common areas and staff were aware. No one should be staying here during this renovation and I question any new management who is making these kind of choices.

Where to start... Please avoid... I think this has become a halfway house or something. People outside on the first floor with big grills -- really? Claims no smoking, but walk into the entrance where the stairs are and hit with the smell. Get to your room - it smells. Use bathroom and roach runs across the floor - got that one! Next morning, another roach made it to the crack in the door so couldn't get it. Hard to sleep with the smell and thoughts of what might be wandering around at night. Handed in room key next morning (1 night stay) and clerk was smart enough to NOT ask "everything ok"? They know... Got home; ALL clothes in the wash, shower... Just plain nasty. Crossed Choice Hotel chain off my list for future stays world-wide. Pay a little more and be safe. Surprisingly - no survey received in the email from them and ZERO way to leave them feedback on their website...

I recently stayed here for a ski trip. Plus points are the place is very affordable and there is free breakfast and the staff is kind. My biggest concern was that is wasn't the clean. I have stayed at other Quality Inns and it has always been very clean. I attached photos. You can be the judge. Edited to add: in my eggs this morning I found a long long black hair.

If you like a real roach motel come here. Dirty towels here in the bed shop things to cut your feet on you want to come here!!! Honestly the most disgusting place I ever stayed! If I was not so tired I would've woke up and left really seen in the morning. See the attached pictures to see what I mean!

Airbnbs or bed and breakfasts are usually more our cup of tea, but the four humans of our family…read morerecently squeezed into a double queen bedroom at Hampton Inn Rutland for the camaraderie of staying with other ski team families. It was a blast and the hotel was quite pleasant for the genre (mid-range, family friendly). Pros: - There's a nice common room downstairs with a fireplace, where we were able to gather with a big group of friends and share dinner. It's also where breakfast is served in the a.m. - Breakfast service begins at 6 a.m. -- great for those who need an early start. - My kiddos love "Hotel Breakfast" as they call it, and this was no exception. There are two DIY waffle irons with lots of wonderfully unhealthy toppings; hot mini omelettes, sausage, and potatoes; muffins, bagels, toast; cold cereal and oatmeal; fruit salad and whole fruit. - We either had very quiet neighbors or the walls are reasonably well soundproofed. - There's a small, heated pool. It's hyperchlorinated as most hotel pools are, but a nice place to congregate and relax with friends after skiing. - There's a small, but adequate gym -- and a conference room should you need it. - The hotel adjoins a shopping complex that includes a Hannaford's supermarket, an Office Depot and a Michael's. Convenient for friends who had to find poster board for a school project due the following Monday. And we picked up fruit trays and dessert for our team dinner. - The hotel is dog friendly! We traveled without our pup this time, but did get to hang with some great guest canines. This is a massive plus in our book. - Beds were quite comfortable and staff were nice! Two people even dressed up as Santa and Mrs. Claus to say hello to the kids at dinner. :) Cons: - The elevator was out of order during our stay, so those of us staying on the third floor with lots of ski gear to carry up and down got a GREAT workout. - The pool is quite small, more of a cooler-than-usual hot tub than anything else -- so don't expect to swim laps. - There's no fan or ventilation in the bathroom. After four showers, it gets pretty steamy. Neutral: - It's about 30 minutes from Killington Mountain. There are more proximate, dog friendly hotels (e.g. Killington Mountain Lodge) and Airbnbs, but Hampton Inn Rutland may be better priced. - Our room temperature defaulted to 68 or 69 F. I love that it's eco-friendly and it was a good temperature for putting on ski gear -- but we usually keep our home a bit warmer than this. You can change the temperature of course, but ours kept defaulting to the cooler setting at night. - We're not big TV watchers, but for those who are, I think you need to sign in to Netflix, Disney+, etc... with your own account logins. The hotel does not have its own subscriptions. Overall, this was a great, budget-friendly place to stay with a group!

The TV is so small (estimate 36 inch ) and in the corner so far away. The driveway was a little hard to find though, I had to drive around a few other buildings to find a way in. The woman at the front desk was polite and pleasant, and the room was clean, with a fresh, well made, and comfortable bed. When I called the front desk for help getting on the internet, the same woman who checked me in was helpful and patient. But...(and there are a lot of buts..) The hotel is pretty dingy. If my room had been $87/ night, I wouldn't mind, but I spent $207 on the room for one night. The hotel was pretty hot and musty. The air felt stagnant - though the common areas and rooms were clean. I turned the a/c in my room all the way down, but the room never felt cool. The walls and carpets were very dated and had a tired look that won out against the more updated couches in common areas. The internet was awful, it took me 30 minutes, one phone call, and a trip down to the front desk to get online, and then the next morning, it had kicked me off again. The bathroom was tight, but workable, the water took a long time to warm up, but stayed hot once it'd heated up. The bath towels were horrible though - a cotton-poly blend that was not absorbent at all. Overall, I would stay here again if I had to, but next time I'm passing though Rutland, I'll try one of the little, touristy, motor-court inns or a Hampton.

If you purchase directly through the website, then breakfast is included each morning. Every day they offer pancakes, french toast, or eggs and bacon, and then there is a daily special omelette. I would highly recommend The Vermont Inn and we will definitely be back.

At The Paw House Inn, you don't choose--you get the best of both worlds. My partner and I came up for a ski trip to Killington, and honestly, the service we received rivaled any luxury hotel we've stayed at, while Taco (our dog) got treated like royalty. Service for the Whole Pack: Mitch and Jeff are the dream team. Mitch's communication was flawless--he navigated us through some iffy weather on arrival day and acted as a top-tier concierge for the rest of the trip. He didn't just point us to a map; he gave us a locals-only tip for a public golf course that allows cross-country skiing. It was the highlight of our trip--fresh tracks for us, and off-leash freedom for Taco. Jeff, meanwhile, made us feel incredibly welcome (and made Taco his best friend with his lightning-fast treat distribution). It's rare to find hosts who care just as much about the quality of the human's dinner (sending us to Sweet Caroline's and Roots--both huge hits) as they do about the dog's happiness. The Stay: Breakfast was delicious every morning, but the real highlight was that Taco could sit right there with us. It was a lovely reminder of home--he never leaves our side until breakfast is over, and being able to keep that routine here made the trip feel incredibly special. The boarding facility is pristine, warm, and secure. We got video updates of Taco playing with his new friends (shoutout to Diggins, Blu, and Percy!) while we were skiing Killington, which let us actually relax and enjoy the slopes.
