This is where the bad news starts. They told me in order for them to mail them back to us, we needed to send them a return label from FedEx or UPS. We arrived home later that day. I went to UPS the next morning and to the tune of $53 sent the hotel a box with return label. The hotel signed for the box on April 22, 3 days after we left. END OF STORY - no glasses have ever been returned. I have talked to the hotel desk 3 times. No success. Manager is never available. I have asked for them to call me. NO return call ever. These were $800 glasses. Yes, we should not have left them; but the hotel did not respect our posssessions apparently. So WARNING, if you stay there be sure you don't leave anything. Stayed here on a Monday night as a pit stop on a road trip. While the price was decent, "you get…read morewhat you pay for". Trouble started when discovering the lock becoming separated from the door. I felt unsafe. I could hear voices both through the wall and outside-as if somebody was speaking right next to me. I noticed a gap between the door and the door frame. (See photos.) A window air unit let's the temp be set but it is so loud and blows onto the bed, another thing contributing to my being awake through the night. The bathroom area was not clean. One hair that is not your own is one hair too many. There were two bars of soap provided for toiletries and the just right amount of towels. As it was a "drive until you can't drive anymore" day, I knew I would look to Yelp to help me find a motel/hotel. Normally I have a destination planned and use Airbnb and if I were to do this again I would use Airbnb. Five more minutes of cleaning including running a Swiffer over all the floors is a must, along with other investments for the safety and security of customers!

Apparently being stranded in Mount Vernon for the foreseeable future, I explain my plight to the woman, whom for some reason was nursing a baby, at the front desk, and ask that my stay be extended to a week for the weekly rate, instead of making me pay the nightly rate (which is obviously more expensive) for the night I had already been there and then adding an entire week, i.e. that I stay six more nights in addition to the night I had already stayed, and that therefore what I had already paid for a single night be translated to part of the weekly rate. She responds "You don't negotiate for a gallon of milk," implying my request is equally absurd because it's against the rules they made up, demonstrating a gross disregard for the relevance of circumstance. She then calls someone over, saying "Can you please repeat to him that these are the rules," at which point I'm greeted by the owner of this motel whom proceeds - and this happened - to laugh at me and tell me I could walk somewhere else if I don't like it, despite business clearly being slow. The woman then had the gall to say with inconspicuous attitude "You seemed so pleasant yesterday; what happened?" as if the reason for any frustration on my part hadn't already been made clear. On top of all this, the rooms (I stayed in two) are destitute, as is, (morally), extorting the business of someone who has no choice, before I knew there's a nicer yet even cheaper hotel like a mile north of here. Stay there or anywhere else, trust me - not here. Lastly, I was also laughed at when I noted that their inhospitable behavior would reflect badly in a review. Well, this is now permanently posted for all otherwise potential customers to see how the negligent owner and his shameless employees actually behave when a customer has a problem. There is a flat screen tv, mini fridge, microwave and tiny coffee pot in each room. The rooms appear to have been remodeled. There is no carpeting. The closet has no bar or hooks to hang clothes. The dresser had a broken handle. The shower stall is dark and small. The room was very bright and well lit. It is not close to the interstate or any restaurant, but it is close to downtown. They do have Wi-Fi.
