Hey Yelpers! Stopped in here for a couple days after picking up our trailer. It's a nice place to stay. It is situated next to the freeway, so you do get traffic noise. When in the trailer, it was rarely noticeable. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were able to get a delivery of firewood out to our campsite, which was nice. Also tried my luck in their fishing pond, which is catch and release. I didn't have to release anything, but it was fun and relaxing. The pool area looked great and very refreshing on hot days like when we were there. Some of the things could use some repair, such as the fishing dock and shower floors. They are putting in work to take care of it, so that's good. We would stay here again. You should check it out. read more

This is the second time we have stayed at this KOA. We have found it clean and accommodating. One time we ordered the BBQ sandwiches which were tasty. There seemed to be some long term renters but all looked well kept. The sounds of the local highway are loud but we ran our fans and it blocked the sounds. Loved this Koa. We were in a pond pull thru and it was perfect. Pretty level, full hookups including cable. And a nice view. Well equipped camp store--there's even a beauty shop in there and my neighbor says Karen gives a great hairCut. She'll cook for you too--we had the pulled chicken sandwiches and they were excellent. 2019 prices too. We'll be back. read more

Sorry, but no way, never again. Nice people, but the nice stops there....the transient spots are literally 20 or 30 yards away from the freeway (see pics)....got NO sleep with semi trucks hitting their air brakes all night long....looks like some permanent residents there too, in some not so nice trailers....sites are not concrete and way not level. read more

My husband and I needed a place to stay when my dad passed away in August of 2021. We moved from North Texas and stayed from the end of October through the 1St week of June. The staff of KOA are warm and friendly and caring. We enjoyed our stay. It's a quaint area close to eating, shopping, interstate. Nice walking trail, paddle boat rental, and you can order food from the kitchen and they will deliver it to your rig in a golf cart! The Barbque sandwiches are really good!! We highly recommend if you are looking for a place to stop on your trip! They will treat ya right! read more

Benton, Illinois KOA was a nice stop over for two nights heading to Columbia, Missouri on our journey to Yellowstone. We were located across from the main park in a special small section that was overlooking the catch and release fishing pond. We had the perfect site for viewing the peaceful pond. I had requested a really nice site to view the pond and they delivered on my request!! Thanks!! We were basically there with only two other campers the first night with no one on either side which was really nice. The second night more campers as the others left, but it was quiet and peaceful each day. We had a wonderful view from our motorhome window to sit inside, rest, and enjoy the pond. The outside was really hot throughout the day and night so most everyone chose to stay inside with our air conditioning. It was 90+ degrees with a heat index of 103. WOW!! The second night we took advantage of Karen's kitchen and ordered th BBQ rib dinner with a full slab of ribs and two sides for two. It was delicious!!! The BBQ sauce made the ribs so good...fall off the bone delicious. The baked beans were excellent as well and the potato salad. If you think as I do that you are a great BBQ rib griller and are hesitant...try their BBQ and you will be pleasantly surprised. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Our car battery was dead on our toad and thanks to the wonderful KOA staff they got us up and running. Thank you for a very pleasant stay at Benton KOA. read more

Very very loud. Campground is flanked by the interstate and a busy industrial road. Train tracks are nearby also!! Only thing missing is an airport runway. Website states pets ok but they will charge you at arrival. The bundled firewood sold at the office is better described as firesticks. It you want to have a fire, hit the ATM first. read more

This KOA is great! It is well maintained, and let me tell you what ... the food is off the chain! Karen's barbecue pulled pork is phenomenal. If you live in the area, it's worth a stop just to eat. The staff is nice and professional and if we are ever back through this area, we will be staying and dining again. I wish I could rate more stars than just 5. Support this local business. What an amazing staff, so polite and helpful. The pond is great, the playground nice, and the facilities are spotless. We enjoyed our stay so much until...the trains. A tent does nothing to protect you from the horrific sound of train horns all. Night. Long. This isn't the fault of the staff or the facility, of course - they are simply amazing...but the trains of your nightmares will steam through all night. I'll be sleep deprived for a week. read more

This was the perfect stop for the night. I called the site in the morning to book and paid via credit card over the phone. We pulled our RV in late in the evening and picked up our envelope from the night registration booth, which had a map showing us where our spot was. We only used the electric as we were running the RV dry due to the cold weather, but had no problems. We were super impressed with the new shower/bathroom facilities. Really clean and warm. This is a nice campground. It's located near the interstate state but I could see that from the map view. It's clean and check in was easy. We checked in after hours found our spot and were set up in under 15 minutes. read more

Close to highway. Unable to converse outside. Attendant John rude and aggressive. Bugs horrible. Cable unreliable due to "weather". Dog waste noticed everywhere even though there was a dog park. Apparently no one policed grounds to pick up. Vehicles drove dangerously fast kicking up dust. Will never stay at another KOA. read more

Very spacious sites and it was right on a lake. It was quiet and the service was friendly. The bathrooms were clean and there was a playground several kids were enjoying. The dump station was right by the office and was easily accessible. We enjoyed our stay there. read more

Stayed in Deluxe cabin 1. Cabin is nice and roomy and loved having a bathroom! The one down side was the it kind of smelled bad. Like.... stale cigarette smoke and dusty curtains. read more

We came in late and left early on a week night. We were put in a parking lot site, squeezed in with about 5 other rv rigs. We would not recommend that for a longer stay, but we were in and out so it worked for us. Can't say anything about the rest of the park as we didn't have time to explore. read more

Not a good spot for sleeping. The highway was right there and when our air would stop that is all I would hear. One of the attendance was rude and short tempered. The grounds were confusing will never stay there again to expensive for no real benefits. Move on to another campsite. read more

The campground was easy to get too of the main hwy. we stayed for the night. Didn't like how the campground was split by a road. We had a site that we only had to pull in which was a good thing!! We got in later so no one around to talk to at all. read more
