We were in town just for one night and chose Best Western because it is usually our first choice -…read morethey are dependably decent and many have been remodeled recently. This one was clean, updated, and the staff was super friendly and nice. It's always refreshing to deal with people who act like they enjoy their job/want to help. I do have a few complaints, but nothing to totally knock them down for. The pool was over-chlorinated, to the point that our skin was burning. The beds are the most uncomfortable things I have ever slept in (again, it was just for one night - if we had needed to stay longer we would have cancelled the reservation- it was THAT bad). I think we would have been better off on the floor. I woke up stiff and sore and a little pissed. I mean, you stay at a hotel for a place to SLEEP...common sense would dictate providing a decently comfortable bed for your guests. Our beds were awful. Again, had we needed to stay longer we would have canceled. Last but not least, there were ants in the bathroom. I saw maybe 4 at any given time. They weren't after anything in particular, just wandering around. We did not alert the staff because it was late and we were leaving early. The breakfast was awesome, the price decent (as usual), but I'm sure we won't be back unless they put better beds in there. Trust me, I'm not exaggerating, they were bad. 4 stars so as not to diss Best Western in general. We still love y'all! Your Macomb location has terrible beds though.

Lacks basic amenities, such as working water fountains, clean towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower…read moregel. Shower drain was slow. Toilet bowl was stained. Never received enough clean towels-several requests made. Room was not the cleanest, stained furniture and carpet. The dated TV would randomly turn on in the middle of the night.

Macomb does not have good lodging options. That being said, I will stay here again when needed…read more Rooms are very dated. Think of an old motel. The room was clean, amenities obviously aren't the best, bed and pillows were surprisingly great. No issues with room temperature control. Finding your way around the building can be a little tricky. Side note for 10 pm or later... after hours building entry requires three flights of stairs due to security measures in place (no access to elevator from after hours entry door).

I arrived after 8:00 PM and had to check in at the Office of Public Safety. I was given my room key…read morethere and then had to go across to the Union, which was closed for the night. Entering through the back way isn't the easiest -- you don't have access to the elevator and must climb three floors of steep cement stairs with your bags. The room itself was A-OK. Comfy bed, micro-fridge combo, clean bathroom with a hair dryer and a TV with lots of channels. But then I turned on the heat and it smelled so bad it literally gave me a headache. Now it could be that I was the first to use the heat this year (I was there last weekend in September), but it was still very unpleasant. So while it was cheap and safe and comfortable for one night, I don't think I'll stay here again. I'm a slave to Amtrak when I visit my Leatherneck (which means I must arrive after 8:00 PM), and the after-hours check-in in is just too much of a drag to justify the savings.
