Arrived at hotel and was told they cancelled my reservation, and tried to reach me to update credit card information. Left without a room with the closet an hour away. All hotels in Macomb booked because of graduation. Completely dishonest and no assistance in helping to rebook or compensation for their poor service. We stayed at this Best Western for two nights on a trip to Macomb, and it had everything we needed. The room was clean. The staff at the front desk were friendly. They offered a standard breakfast in the mornings. Plenty of parking. Conveniently located across from a Walmart and a grocery store (large shopping area) and just a short (2-minute drive to the square). Classic Best Western. read more

The best Western in Macomb Illinois is under new management since 2019 when we was there they are going by the COVID-19 restrictions and I understand that we stayed three nights we checked in early, Gracie was on duty she was very courteous pleasant and all-around nice that was on Friday Friday afternoon I remain that I had two gift cards for Best Western Hills young man that did not want to be there it seemed like said he didn't know how to use the plastic gift cards he only knew how to put in the paper ones but he would find out which he never did do know how to say it and keep them for the next time I go somewhere else it was quiet that night got a good nights sleep Saturday we got up We got our breakfast bags they don't serve breakfast anymore at this one didn't care for anything that was in it and actually couldn't eat three of the Items because of allergies, Saturday night someone party on the second floor above us all night long and I do mean all night long. Sandy started the same I asked for a rollaway bed do not get a rollaway bed they are the most uncomfortable 1 inch mattresses I've ever seen on top of a spring, our granddaughter spent the night with us. Sunday night it was quiet peaceful there was three cars in the parking lot I got up at 4 AM to head home we got to go baggage for breakfast I still couldn't eat anything that was in it but it was free. But I will probably stay here again because the rates are very reasonable just wish they had the other manager back. Had a group come in at this hotel. The corp. sales off really messed up our contract and room. We were very frustrate. Now Meleiah the Front Desk Manager really stepped in and made our experience very enjoyable. She was able to correct everything, the corp. office messed up. If you are having a big group coming in, reach directly out to Meleiah the office manager instead of going through their corp. sales office. read more

We were in town just for one night and chose Best Western because it is usually our first choice - they are dependably decent and many have been remodeled recently. This one was clean, updated, and the staff was super friendly and nice. It's always refreshing to deal with people who act like they enjoy their job/want to help. I do have a few complaints, but nothing to totally knock them down for. The pool was over-chlorinated, to the point that our skin was burning. The beds are the most uncomfortable things I have ever slept in (again, it was just for one night - if we had needed to stay longer we would have cancelled the reservation- it was THAT bad). I think we would have been better off on the floor. I woke up stiff and sore and a little pissed. I mean, you stay at a hotel for a place to SLEEP...common sense would dictate providing a decently comfortable bed for your guests. Our beds were awful. Again, had we needed to stay longer we would have canceled. Last but not least, there were ants in the bathroom. I saw maybe 4 at any given time. They weren't after anything in particular, just wandering around. We did not alert the staff because it was late and we were leaving early. The breakfast was awesome, the price decent (as usual), but I'm sure we won't be back unless they put better beds in there. Trust me, I'm not exaggerating, they were bad. 4 stars so as not to diss Best Western in general. We still love y'all! Your Macomb location has terrible beds though. read more

We stayed at the best Western Macomb in December 2021 as we do every Christmas when visiting my mother in law. I was disturbed to see what look like black mold in the shower fan. When corporate sent me a survey I sent pictures hoping they would fix the issue. This year I called again to book a room giving them the benefit of the doubt. They blackballed my husband and I from ever staying there again. According to best Western rewards, franchise owners have the right to stop folks who smoked in the room or something else they didn't like from staying there. We were put on the list for reporting their potential black mold. There are five children in this family and 13 adult grandchildren, all who have stayed at this hotel in the past. They have lost the entire family's business. read more

I stayed here while visiting Macomb for a July 2013 wedding. This hotel far exceeded my expectations - so much that if I'm ever in Macomb again, this will be my preferred hotel. All staff encounters were timely & fair, from check-in thru check-out. Examples: (1) Reservations were simple. I called in May to book and again in July to confirm and both staff members made my interactions simple. They even emailed me a room confirmation when I asked. (2) Check-in and Check-out were easy. Barb was friendly, accurate and pleasant to deal with during our stay. (3) Late night snacking left me with a smile on my face. I was in Macomb for a wedding, and late and night got hungry. I searched for local late night places but landed on using Best Western's vending machines. Cash in hand, I selected a bag of chips that got stuck. I immediately went to the front desk and a young staffer helped without hesitation. He made sure I got my bag of chips without having to pay again for them and turned a frustrating situation into a joyous one. (4) My room was part of a wedding block but was very quiet and clean. It came with 2 queen beds and was $89 with state/city tax & fees. There was a little early evening noise above from loud stomping guests, but overall it was a quiet stay. The room was very clean with free toiletries and coffee. The room had a slight cleaning odor but even with my sensitivity to smell, it was excusable. (5) Free breakfast was an amazing. The quality wasn't the best, but the service made up for it. I missed breakfast by 15 mins, but staff made sure I got ample snacks -- pastries & coffee. Overall, I"m very appreciative of the stellar service and highly recommend this place, especially for wedding blocks. read more

I should've read the reviews. Booked the hotel having stayed there awhile back. It wasn't a palace back then, but wasn't horror movie freaky like it is now. Arrived late at night. The person who checked us in was incompetent and off. I'll leave it at that because I don't want to make fun of someone with serious issues. Despite poor outdoor lighting I could see the pool was drained and grass hadn't been mowed for ages. Only one other room was occupied...on the Friday night of Labor Day weekend. All the curtains were open so one can see unmade beds & other signs of disarray in unoccupied rooms. The first light I went to in our room didn't work. It was musty, dingy, and the vibe felt like an x-files episode. Left in spite the refusal to refund our money...there was no way we could sleep there. Although we were exhausted, we drove on to our destination. It's a real disservice to the struggling town of Macomb that this place is allowed to remain open. read more

I stayed at this location on 6/1 -6/4/17. Rm 107. It was the most pleasant stay i had in a long time. The hosiptality from the staff was exceptional. We had a noisy neighbor the 1st night and the staff handled the situation immediately and they moved them. They staff was also very attended to any needs that we had. The food was fantastic for their breakfast and the coffee was so good could not get enough. I would be more than happy to stay at this location when i make it back for a visit. I want to thank all the staff for their wonderful service. It was greatly appreciated. read more

The hotel double charged my credit card and was unable to issue a refund. There was some confusion over my booking, and upon checking-in I was not alerted to the fact that my name had a double-booking on it. Only after the fact when my credit card was charged did I get notified. read more

While I didn't not expect a 5 star hotel service, I got it at a 4 star hotel. Just to inform you I'm that person that rarely gives anything a full star rating. When checking in I asked if they had a jacuzzi onsite and they said no. Went to the car to get my bags and upon returning I was informed that they did have a room with a jetted tub in it. I was thrilled as my back was sore and needed it very badly. The best part is that not only was it the same price as the room I had booked. And to add the icing onto the cake, I signed up to be a best western rewards member and got the room for cheaper! The room was very clean, no foul odors. Had a mini fridge and a microwave. There is the standard continental breakfast. Pool and workout room onsite. I would come back again and again! Best western you have sold me on your brand and I hope that other locations that I stay at in the future are comparable to Macomb. read more
