I would put -5 stars for this hotel. We came for 1 night so we can visit Pala, this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. We checked in, got our keys and was given room 109. We walked into the room and the stench was horrible. My wife found bugs crawling on the bed and pillows, the tub was all rusted and looked very dirty. The furniture is very out dated and worn, the flooring (LVP) is all broke and coming apart, the paint on the interior walls peeling. The outside is horrendous, weeds all around, stairs filthy, the stucco on the building is all cracked, trash all through the parking lot along the fence line. The pool is all cracked on the bottom, 1 gate is tied off with an electrical cord. Overall this hotel needs to be closed and a FULL RENOVATION needs to happen or close for good, I wouldn't even recommend this hotel to homeless people to sleep in. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! NASTY. DIRTY. Sheets were dirty and with a cigarette burn hole. LVP flooring was cracked and busted making it unsafe for barefeet or for kids. No hot water to shower. I had to shower at nearby families house I was in town visiting. Missing smoke detector. Peeling, chipped and dingy paint on the walls. Grime on the night stand and floor. 2 outlets were not working. 1 light bulb was burned out. The room had a stink to it. The floors were dirty. The hallway was extremely dirty as if it hadn't been swept in months and smelled of extreme cigarette stench. This all was brought to the hotel clerks attention. A few things were rectified. I would put 0 stars if possible. I guess the only one star would be the bathtub was huge. This place is a total dump. We wanted to get a couple extra towels and pillows because their pillows are the size of throw pillows, picked up the phone and it doesn't work. I went to the front desk. He gave me the towels and "housekeeping" would bring the pillows. When he showed up, he said they only have one. Really? the place was empty. I went to get ice and the ice machine wasn't working. The pool and Jacuzzi had locked chains around the gates. Right there at the front desk, it showed a map, and it showed a second pool in the back with a gazebo and a pavilion, which is nothing but 4 foot weeds can't tell there was ever a pool there. There was an ironing board and a place for an iron but no iron. The paint on the inside was chipped and peeling. Where they did paint, they obviously didn't tape anything off because there was paint all over the place. And it said something about breakfast. This Quality Inn is not quality..The moment you walk into the lobby, you're hit with a foul, sour odor and swarms of flies. It feels filthy and neglected, like the place hasn't been cleaned or cared for in who knows how long. The rooms are just as bad--dirty, outdated, and extremely underwhelming. No real pillows, stained mattresses, and bedding that makes you question if it's ever been washed. The whole setup feels unsanitary and uncomfortable. At night, the hotel becomes chaotic. People are wandering around outside and in the hallways all night long, acting suspicious and sketchy. It genuinely feels unsafe, like a mix between a drug hangout and a halfway house with people constantly coming and going. I wasn't aware of beforehand. During my visit, I noticed that the hotel accepts guests who are dropped off from the local jail using county-issued vouchers. While I understand the hotel may participate in certain community or temporary housing programs, this wasn't mentioned online, and it made me feel uncomfortable.This Quality Inn has absolutely no quality. We wanted to stay somewhere around Carlsbad for a couple of days, but the places we searched weren't available or too expensive and Quality Inn Fallbrook was the only place, plus we were familiar with the area. When my husband made the reservation, the person asked what we were looking for, and he said, "your best room." I looked online at the reviews when we were on our way to Fallbrook, and the reviews were bad. I thought, oh great. When we arrived, the place was very old. When we went to our room, it seemed decent. It was on the second level at the end with a balcony. And it seemed fairly clean. The floors and everything visible looked clean, even the bathroom and the mini fridge. So far, so good. The only thing that kinda grossed me out was the nightstand was filthy and the bath towels, which were very worn and thin, had what looked like someone removed eye makeup with it and it didn't wash out. The soap dish in the shower hadn't been cleaned, and there was an old soap bar on the window sill. I'll have to say the receptionist was nice. read more

The hotel was dirty. It was totally obvious that the owners of this particular hotel didn't care about appearance, quality or guest experience. We had no hot water in our shower and our room walls were so thin that we heard our neighbors complaining about cold water in the shower too. The floors were filthy. Our white socks turned black. Wet towels turned black. Smelly air conditioning, like mildew. Leaky air conditioning. Our bathroom was dirty. We went to the local market and purchased bathroom cleaner and after one use, we noticed a huge difference in the mildew on the grout so it was apparent that they didn't get cleaned often. There's a lovely human by the name Desiree who works here. She took care of us when no one else would. We had my uncle who is in a wheel chair long story short she's amazing. The room had mold stains on the walls The carpets were stained. The pool was dirty. The beds were okay for two nights any longer your back can hurts it's too soft. Got to the hotel still early enough (2 pm with a 3pm check-in) and was told they had given away my room. No other ADA rooms in the entire hotel, and the room I was shown was filthy, and there were steps. Not sure the young man understands handicap accessible. When I asked for a refund, I was told that couldn't be done onsite, call the number where you made the reservation, which was his number, and I had made the reservation with this same young man. It is a decent place. Close to the winery and wedding venue. Sam the Desk agent was really nice and helpful with my accommodations and Charley the maintenance guy was great in assisting with breakfast and offering assistance with luggage. However,the room itself was not ideal. We kept getting spiders in the bathroom. The shower head broke off and we had to screw it back in. The WiFi did not work. The cleaning staff were rude and pushy too during checkout. Additionally the wheelchair pool lift did not work. If you need a place to stay just for the night it's great but not ideal for a vacation stay. read more

To whom it may concern, I'd like to address a few situations that created much discomfort, and disappointment. These events took place on the night of December 31st, 2024. Upon arriving on your property we were ever so greeted by a transient at the entrance of the main lobby of the building intoxicated yelling "::inaudible name:: I don't fucking care! Stop recording! You can tell everyone to suck my dick!". In disbelief and with benefit of doubt I continued to enter. He followed in and sat inside said main lobby's chairs tapping his feet on the floor continually saying the word "fuck!". Lobby worker continued to process my check in. Hands me my keys and directs me to my room. Here is where more disgust than discomfort begins. Walking in the room. Instantly got the overbearing smells of ammonia cleaners just burning our passage ways. So much so that you can taste the smell on our tongues, drying our throats. We came to your property with a 1 month old and this was unacceptable. Not only that many walls were chipped, plastered and unfinished, and all around a mess. Bathrooms were all stained and disgusting. Walls, paper thin.. With all these list of things going on I decide to make a complaint to attendee at the lobby and request refund. Walking to lobby I come across another group in the parking lot smoking, playing music overly loud and loitering. Once I speak to said attendee I address my complaints and concerns. He smiles and makes gestured faces as if my issues were some sort of joke. He claims that he cannot return me my money or refund because of "cancellation fees" and "because it hasn't processed". I am completely frustrated, angry, and distraught by everything that took place at your property. I would never subject my family to such environment. This is all highly unacceptable. read more

Dirty! We stayed here because it was close to the Spartan Race. We added some humor to our disgusting hotel, making it a part of the obstacle. The floor was so dirty, that our socks were black. The worst part of my stay was the dumb look I the employees when I expressed my concerns about the room, as if they never heard them. DON'T EVER STAY HERE! The room was just dirty and dusty. The window locks on the 2nd floor were broken with no screens on the window. The fire alarm was ripped from the ceiling with wires exposed. I couldn't get any hot water. There was obvious drug users through out the hotel, including the people next to us that blasted music all night. Prior to my arrival I reached out to the location for early check in. Failed to get a reply from them. I decided to cancel the morning of check in (5/24/25). I sent a message requesting to waive the cancellation fee of $268.92 when arrangements changed that morning and I decided this place was not a good stay after reading all the bad reviews and seeing pictures on yelp on how filthy an unsanitary this location was. BLOOD STAINS , dirty sheets, moldy walls, moldy restroom tiles, filthy pool water, drug paraphernalia left inside the microwave, BED BUGS, stained mattress, anything and everything you could possible find in a homeless shelter. I reached out to this location multiple times to get a refund and my cancellation fee returned and met with no reply every time. Booking.com sent them a message, no reply. I sent a personal message. No reply. I called front desk, they provided me with an email...no reply. I finally called my bank to dispute the charges. I'm glad I didn't waste my time ad drive all the way down to this hotel, I would have walked right out when I arrived and seen the conditions on this establishment. This place looks nice in pictures when you book but when you see customers pictures on yelp it paints another picture. BEWARE!!! No room service!!!! I know after Covid a lot of places would have a sign saying if you like room service tell the front desk. But no kind of signs and of course I got NO kind of room service. When I checked in they never asked me, so when I came back from a busy day of running around I came back to no clean room , no clean towels , trash, no made bed. Most disgusting hotel I have ever been to!! We went to Fallbrook to attend our grandon's wedding this past weekend. Walking in and seeing how nasty this room was, we turned right around and left. Walking in I noticed paint splatters all over the bathtub/shower fixtures, the hotel room door on the inside had an obvious breakin as the latch looked like it was partially repaired. Microwave dirty with scratch marks everywhere. Non-working TV. It was in general disrepair. In the lobby their was a table to be used for their "free breakfast", covered with piled up soiled linen! I am writing in regards to our experience on Friday, June 23, 2023. We requested a full refund as we only remained on the property from 2:00-5:00pm on Friday, June 23, 2023. We were denied a refund. The condition of the room and resort itself were unacceptable and uninhabitable. Upon checking in, the room wreaked of chemicals. As we began to settle in, we noticed all of the damage from broken light fixtures, dirty towels and linens, silly string plastered on the walls, and worst of all the water damage in the shower. The ceiling in the shower was about to fall out due to the water continuously leaking from the room above the shower. Obviously, where there is water in the walls there is sure to be mold, which in the state of California, made the room in complete violation of health and safety codes. Also, there was a bullet hole in the exterior of one building. The pictures online are a complete misrepresentation as to the actual state of disrepair of this "quality" inn. Another thing to note, is that although the staff were as helpful as they could be during this horrendous experience, I have reason to believe that we witnessed them doing illicit drugs in the back room of the lobby. A small bag with a white powdery substance was seen along with some very suspicious behavior. For all of these reasons, we requested a full refund to be granted as we were only on the property for 3 hours and no other rooms that were available were the same standard of the King Bed non-smoking room we reserved. We were denied a refund because we reserved under a "Non-Cancellable" rate. However, we did not cancel - we could not stay there due to legitimate health and safety concerns. The owner uses this rate as a way to fraudulently lock people into a reservation all the while, knowing that the hotel is in a horrendous state that no one would pay $500 to stay in for two nights. How it has a 3 star rating on Google is beyond me. NO ONE SHOULD EVER STAY HERE. read more

I stayed here with my partner and after driving 5 hours to come visit our family for Christmas we were horrified to discover that not only was there no fitted sheet on the bed but the mattress pat had VOMIT crusted on it. It was late in the evening and we were exhausted so I just went downstairs to ask for a fitted sheet and a fresh mattress pad. The front desk agent was outside doing who-knows-what, and the shady characters hanging around the lobby (I don't know if they were employees or not) went to go get him. I was informed there were no fitted sheets and was given a new mattress pad which turned out to be too small for the bed. We ended up having to turn up the heater and sleep on top of the thin flat sheet on a bare disgusting mattress. The towels are thin and atrocious (I could find better towels at a Walmart), the "staff" look more like vagrants and made me very uncomfortable, and the front desk employee is dismissive and rude. After having been given the run-around I have still not received a refund or even a response, I have been hung up on twice, and they have even hung up on the third party booking agent I used when they called to try and help me. The desk employee said he had "forwarded the messages" to his manager, but would not give me a name or any way to contact said manager myself. "I've stayed at nicer places in 3rd world countries" -My Girlfriend This place was the worst hotel experience I've ever had. I tried to sleep fully clothed in the Dracula position. Still wasn't able to sleep for fear that the pimp in the parking lot was going to break down the door and kidnap my girl. We wore flip flops in the shower, and I just air-dried instead of using any of the towels in this room. Not sure if those were tire marks or skid marks on those. I really think this place should take 'Quality' out of the name on the sign. Are they embezzling the money that they are supposed to use for maid services and maintenance, who knows? I suggest you sleep in your car in a rest area. They seem safer and cleanlier than this establishment. read more

Worst hotel ever!! Where do I even begin... for starters there is not an elevator. We had to lug up our ice chest up two flights of stairs. Then we opened up the door to our room and a musty smell slapped us in the face like they haven't used that room in years. Then we had to clean up water on the floor and the white towels were BLACK when we were done cleaning the floor. We asked for more towels because we used them for the water and they gave us dirty stained towels. There was ants and cobwebs in the shower on the wall and window. For starts, the room initially looked fine, but walking into the bathroom the shower did not look like the pictures. White tiles shower, with various levels and mold. The floor rug was dirty, the toilet looked like it had not been cleaned and there was a used soap bar in the shower which I didn't notice until it was too late. The first night I was woken up by some loud noise that sounded like it was right outside our door, music, and men talking. This eventual woke up my 2 year old who cried for the next hour. The next morning for breakfast there was only waffles and cereal... not sure that classifies as breakfast but ok. We left for the day and when we got back around 10pm we see an extension cod coming out of our bathroom window into the room next to us. When we spoke to someone they said they needed to disinfect the room next to us and how to turn off the power and that they knocked on our door but because we didn't answer they let themselves in, like WTF? No one came to take the cord out so we did and they left the shower dirty from their shoes... oh and that floor was absolutely disgusting so we had to keep our shoes on. We asked to be moved and they said no. The next day my kids had bug bites in their legs/feet, we had to stay another night and so I just couldn't bring myself to checking the bed for bed bugs but I'm sure there were some. Just awful... do not stay here. Spend a little more and stay anywhere else but here. I've been a diamond member for a long time, accidentally booked for the week on the wrong date under the "non-refundable" no cancellation option, and Nick, the regional manager refused to cancel, despite having the power to do so, which is my naive assumption, at least give your customers a legitimate reason why you "can't", and you might be met with understanding. This is the first time I've had a problem with any of the Choice line of hotels, and I've never come across management who stuck to such rigid hotel policies, accidents happen in the digital world, and compassion goes a long way with me. With all that said, this place is alright, decent location with a market and a couple restaurants right next door, some covered parking when available is cool, pool area is nice, place is clean, TV was a good size for the space, fire stick took to the wifi with no problems. Other than Nick blowin smoke up my booty with his no-can-do attitude, I might book here again, but with caution of the option I select. read more
