Worst hotel experience I've ever had--complete joke. Walked into a room with no internet and a broken AC--in this heat, that's borderline inhumane. Complained and got moved... to a room with a non-functional bathroom outlet. Are you kidding me? You can't even get the basics right? This place is a total disgrace. Wasn't able to take any pictures but my stay here was very far from perfect. Was I able to sleep, take a shower and watch tv? Yes. Was my comforter clean when I first entered the room and inspected it? Hell No! There were horrible stains and may be some blood looking type (I didn't say blood) of stains on it as well. The pillows were horrible. They felt like you were sleeping on a balloon that was made out of plastic. Overall was it decent? Okay maybe you can say that. But a stay is a stay. read more

My best advice on this place is to stay away. It was. Y far the most dirty and disgusting place we have ever stayed. We were visiting family and didn't need a five star hotel. But this hotel should honestly be ashamed to charge a fee to stay here. $160 ugh. There was food behind the desk. The room had peeling paint. I travel for work and stay at hotels A LOT. Unfortunately I have to stay where they place me, typically I get lucky- but not this time. The outside of the facility is nice and looks new, so I had high hopes, but never judge a book by its cover. My second impression was the smell of the foyer, it stunk like mold. Upon entering my room, it smelled like old cigarette smoke, even though I was in a non smoking room. I immediately turned on my fan to try to circulate fresh air. No luck. Next, what's with this tv? Worst service ever. The bathroom is in piss poor shape, and the carpet throughout my room felt moist. I hate it. I hate it here. Quality inns are always awful, same with every choice hotel. Me and my husband stayed here because the storm caused a power outage for our town. The bedding was stained and torn. I called the front desk to request a clean decent comforter and was told they do not have anymore and that housekeeping was gone for the day. I was so disgusted I brought myself a comforter from Walmart and placed their nasty bedding in the hall. I called the front desk and told them what I did. Fast forward the following day when I got home I received a text saying the police was being called because I stole their bedding. I have pics of their disgusting bedding...why the F**k! Stayed here while in the area for a wedding. Nothing fancy, but we didn't need anything of the Ritz-Carlton sorts. Our room was clean, neat, and spacious. The bed was comfortable and we slept well. We drove to CT from south Florida and our weary bodies appreciated the comfortable accommodations. I also appreciated the hot coffee always available...yes, even in the summer!! Breakfast was OK. There were hot offerings along with the typical continental breakfast setup. We even had enough energy to go for a hike in nearby River Highlands State Park, which was a beautiful excursion overlooking the Connecticut River. There was also a little diner down the street close by which we enjoyed. The staff was friendly although we didn't require much staff assistance during our two-night stay. We will definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area. read more

I had a reservation at the Quality Inn in Cromwell CT for 12.22.17-12.25.17. I didn't realize I reserved the prepay rate and I called to change it since we only needed it for 12.24.17. The customer service rep that I spoke to called the property for me and when he got back on the phone he said they changed my card already and it should take a couple of business days for the refund to appear. I asked him how much my refund will be and how much it was going to be for one night, he told me I need to call the property for that. I called the property on 12.20.17 around 1-1:30pm (just a couple of minutes after getting off the phone with customer service) and the manager insisted that he did not charge my card. after going back and forth a couple of times he said he could changed my reservation back to 3 nights from one, then he threatened to cancel it. After telling him I just needed to know what I was being charged he decided to hang up on me. Then continued to hang up on me about 11 more times. Then he decided to cancel my reservation and corporate won't do anything to help. He also threatened to call the police if I called the property again. Good job Choice Hotels on these amazing managers! I will be sure to spread the word. read more

My girlfriend and I stayed here this past weekend for the Travelers Championship at River Highlands (about 15 minutes away), and were very impressed with the overall setup and service at this hotel. Parking was easy, the man at the front desk was friendly and very gracious. Our room felt huge and had ample lighting- most importantly, it was very clean. We also loved the addition of a mini refrigerator and microwave, as we had some leftover pizza and beers from down the street. The free breakfast went above and beyond for any hotel charging less than $100/night, in my opinion. Not only did they have the usual continental fare, but they also had a waffle maker, english muffins, eggs, and sausage patties if you wanted to make a sandwich. We also checked out the vending machines which were well-stocked (and offered a unique variety, I might add). We visit this tournament every year and will certainly make it a point to book a room here from now on. It's in a convenient location and covers all of the bases. For the cost, you can't beat it. read more

This room is disgusting. The comforter is stained, the grout in the bathroom is filthy, there are baby flies in the room. Every surface is covered in dust. It doesn't look like anything has been wiped down. When I checked in the man at the desk asked for my credit card. Said it didn't work, so I gave him another one he said that didn't work. My husband tried two cards he tried and they "didn't work" at one point his cell phone rang and he picked up the phone and had a conversation in another language while we were trying to check in. We called our banks they said they had 6 charges from quality inn that went through when we showed him this he said we were wrong and it was declined. This is now a Quality in. The rates are great especially with AAA. The beds and bedding are exceptional, no polyester comfortors. The room was very clean and the AC worked great. The WiFi is so-so. My only complaints are the TV color and sound. Also the coffee at the continental breakfast was actually hot brown water. I was told "that's just the way it is". This Inn was a breath of fresh air. My daughter and I had a very bad day due to our flight being canceled and difficulty getting a rental car. When we pulled into the Inn at midnight I was spent. The night clerk Mr. Gobal ( hope the spelling is correct since the business card fell out of my bag) and his wife were the kindest to us. I can't thank them enough for all his kindness. It was so important to us that someone showed empathy and compassion toward our situation. If you are looking for super new carpets or the latest room interiors you will not find it. Our room offered everything you would need for a stay plus a microwave. Best thing about our room was it was solid. The walls were not paper thin. I didn't want to get up because I slept soundly. This place ain't great, but it's better than 1 star. If it were a little cheaper, I'd probably give three stars because it is a totally fine place to stay. To be honest, the rate should be closer to $70 per night, but when I reserved a room it was $99 and so came out to $113 after taxes, etc. They only had smoking rooms left by the time we reserved a room, so I can't speak to whether other rooms are okay. Let's just say if I could give no stars it would be more accurate! A few months ago my husband and I had to visit my mother in law in the hospital. We stayed at this hotel twice before pre-COVID, so I knew it wasn't so bad. Was I so wrong! When we checked in and went to our room. It was absolutely filthy! I held up ALL the towels to the light and each one of them had stains on them! Then, I get to the bed....the "top sheet" that goes over the comforter had what looked to be blood stains on them. So we went back to the front and asked to move rooms. She said sure! So she moved us to a room....which was already occupied....we quickly went and told her it was someone else's rooms. She was arguing with us! There was luggage on the bed! Come to find out it was my husbands aunts room! She wasn't happy either! So, the lady said our first room was the only one left....since we had already paid for it and there are no refunds, we went back to the first room. We went and bought cleaning supplies and towels. I'm a housekeeping Supervisor, if my rooms looked like this I would be mortified! The breakfast was laughable.....a pancake machine that gave you cardboard tasting pancakes and cereal. And the smell of that building was the worst! It smelled like weed the whole week. And please don't go into the elevator...hasn't been inspected since 2020! VERY SKETCHY PLACE! read more

The room was a little sketchy: one bathroom washcloth looked used, there was another on the bed, and the shower spigot was dripping. Stayed at the Quality Inn-Cromwell overnight (one night). Overall, this Quality is perfectly fine. Conveniently located just off I-91, the staff was friendly, room was quiet and comfortable and the breakfast was of the typical Choice Hotel variety, albeit with the addition of scrambled eggs. There are some dining options on Berlin Road (a/k/a CT Route 372), but not much within walking distance. The Radisson hotel, across the street, has a restaurant and bar. One note of trivial consequence: though some sites may list the hotel as having 4-stories, the lobby is actually on the 2nd floor. read more

Was trying to get from NYC back to Boston, but the snow vetoed my plan. Pulled off to spend the night at Comfort Inn. The perks: it's right off the highway and reasonably priced (esp. with a AAA discount). What we didn't like about this place was how we were nearly tossed out the door at checkout time. Check out was at 11 AM, and at 11:03 the front desk called to ask if we would be leaving today. Seriously??!! I've stayed at a lot of hotels and have never had an issue with checking out 5-10 minutes late! After the phone call we could hear the cleaning staff yapping about which rooms they were waitting for (they were herding other folks out as well), and when we did check out, moments later, they were waiting for us! Very odd. Anyhow, rooms are completely standard, no pool/gym, but it beats crashing your car in a snow storm! read more

Smoke Free! False Advertising. This hotel ended smoking in January of 2018. The minute I opened the door to our room, I was bowled over by the stench of cigarette smoke. My nose and throat were burning. No other rooms were availble and all the hotels nearby were booked. We also found dried blood droplets in the bathroom. We slept with the screenless window open all night long. Thankfully we were on fourth floor. I woke up several times because my nose and throat were burng from the cigarette odor. The capret, curtains, furninture, and bedding were dated and were pugnent with the odor of smoke. I demanded a partial refund. I will never stay in this hotel again. Stay away! read more

Travelling for business in the area. Just needed a desk to get work done and a nice bed to sleep in. The Wi-Fi was awful on the 4th floor so I worked in the breakfast area. Nice bed, clean and spacious room. Shower drained poorly. In the morning I told the staff about the Wi-Fi and shower and received no response. Pro's:MY room was clean , I was on first floor a couple rooms away from breakfast room, the beds and pillows are very comfortable, there was a refrigerator and microwave in room, decent continental breakfast could be improved upon however, with a couple adjustments Cons: the TV's could be larger and better quality, the chairs in room were very old and shabby and not comfortable, some things have been modernized, some haven't, the fixtures in the shower were all rusted, not very appealing when taking a shower, the toilet seat wouldn't stay up when my husband was urinating, so minor maintenance issues, they should stay on top of. It would be so appreciated if they would have later check out times 12:00 noon would be ideal for some of us late sleepers(some other motels in the area do) and early check in at 3 pm in stead of 4pm would also be appreciated. also a later breakfast time would be appreciated, I believe it was something like 6-830 am or something like that. why not offer breakfast till 10 am for some of us late sleepers? one thing I hate is they have those old blower type wall heaters/air condtioners, like most do, they are so annoying , the vents don't turn and the air blows in your face all nite from hot to cold, none of them ever work right and most of the motels have them. I wish they would put baseboard type instead. the only really bad thing is they have no pool, so for some people this could be a big deal, maybe one day they will consider putting one in . the most important thing for me though is a comfortable bed and a clean room and they had points on both of those, so I would stay there again, I just wish management would read some of these reviews and make some small changes to improve the experiences. The courtyard marrriot down the road has a star bucks in its lobby, something like that would be great, but I guess I would be dreaming! haha! By the way on the day I checked in, the front desk clerk was very accommodating to us! one last suggestion, have some more snack options like the marriot court yard down the road and other motels, have like a mini super market space where you can purchase snacks and fruit etc. all they have is a few snack item at front desk, soda, a few chips and items like that, not much else. read more

Have been staying here for 3 years for a yearly convention help at the neighboring Radisson. Never had any issues. This year, a rude and difficult employee named Jay left my friend who is a MINOR (age 16) to wander the hallway at 1-3 AM in the morning as the rest of us were asleep, and she had no key, since she'd been with me when the night had started and wandered off to be with friends. Her phone was dead and he wouldn't allow her to call the room or charge her phone. Finally, after 3 hours he made her a new key, rendering ours useless. I don't understand why he couldn't have called in a manager or gone and opened the door for her using a manager's key. Then the following day another friend turned in her key that didn't work, and he reprogrammed it, again wiping all of our keys without asking her why she was turning it in and forcing everyone who was out that night at a party to go to the main desk and get a new key to get into our room again. I approached him about it the second night and he demanded to know how many people were in the room and that only 4 keys were allotted per room. I told him we only had four until he gave my young minor friend a new one. I was told it was my fault for not reporting how many people were staying in the room. I have been staying in hotels for conventions for going on 9 years now and I have NEVER experienced such disrespect and incompetence in my entire life. On top of all this, I was charged twice for the room and an extra fee for 3 extra people who were not even in the room. I will not be back and I am working hard to ensure this employee is either reprimanded or fired. My friend was traumatized and almost assaulted waiting in the hallway by drunken partygoers when she could have been safe in bed if "Jay" had done his job properly.
