Overall, we would stay here again - we were there for an event and were overall comfortable. Our important criteria is a good night's sleep so comfy bed with a quiet room, strong internet and good water pressure. The front desk had a nice tray of cookies. The parking is not obvious but was explained by the friendly front desk staff - there was plenty of spaces out back and there is a hotel entrance door nearby but you need a hotel key. We had 2 adjoining rooms without much of a view. Definitely would not want a room on the bottom floor near parking - anyone can look in so your shade is drawn the whole time. The hotel and plumbing may be a bit dated - the toilets have those tanks on the back and one room didn't work great. The hotel seems well located at the end of a strip of restaurants so getting a great lunch and dinner is very walkable. The police station is 1.5 blocks away - multiple times we had homeless folks ask us for money along this walk. The hotel's ice machine worked well. We didn't use the swimming pool or the gym. The mini frigs proved useful and were operating well without overfreezing but the only microwave is in the lobby. We would not eat or drink again at the hotel or Armory - while the breakfast was full and tasty it's really overpriced at $25 per person and don't get me started on the Armory $45 for 2 beers and a glass of wine which tasted like swill with no ambiance and a bartender who kept disappearing with less than 5 customers! We knew they were going to charge us a night's deposit fee so that wasn't a surprise. As others have indicated, they have some extra fees but ultimately it's about the same overall cost as a nearby hotel chain. We try to keep things in perspective in our reviews.

Also, the window came slamming down when I open it.

It's as if they are asking me to stay at the Hilton. The Inn is lovely and convenient to Wes. I just can't get over the lack of customer service and couldn't give a hoot attitude. This is our third time staying here. The first time was only for one night and the room view was not very nice. Knowing this the second trip I requested a nicer room during booking. At check in I reiterated the request for a nicer room. I was told that although full the room we were assigned was nice. I was pretty annoyed to find out it was above the air conditioning system. After calling down and complaining I was told that they could move me and to come back down to the desk. What about being full? So here we are our third and last time. Booking - asked for a better room. Check in- same thing. Asked if they were full - nope. Oh since you are empty can I have a room with a nice view. Yes, I gave you a high floor with a nice view overlooking the town. The Inn is practically empty. No one is here. Zip, haven't seen a soul. Here is the view. You win Inn at Middletown.

Our room was spacious, on the third floor and was very clean, however one of the lamps in the room did not work. There was a small coffee bar with pods provided, and water cups. Shower had good water pressure and there was ample towels provided. The bed was comfortable but the pillows sucked. The room they had our event in was spacious, and clean as well. They served food (one meat (chicken), mashed potatoes and two different times of veggies, three different salad options with dressings and an assortment of breads. Dinner was great, desserts were so so. But they did have a large assortment of those as well. Water, lemonade & iced tea were all available on each table and there was also a bar available for cocktails or beers. I'd recommend using this space for future events for anyone looking.

We usually stay here when visiting friends in the area. The rooms don't seem well constructed-while were were simply walking around the room for less than 10 minutes the front desk called to say the guests below us were complaining about stomping. At that point, we were already siting down, which suggests the floors are poorly insulated. Breakfast was the standard Hampton Inn offering and fairly average. The location is the bigger plus-close to friends, along with several of our old favorite restaurants and coffee shops. The staff is friendly, and the hotel does offer a workout room and pool. Overall, its a decent place to stay, but there's room for improvement.

He likes to charge people's charge account after the booking was canceled in advanced and yet claims they checked in, but somehow cannot show proof, license, or video that the guest was there. And then when asked to provide proof, he sends me and the bank somebody else's information. Definitely a privacy and HIPAA violation. Glad I have that customer's name, address and number, I sent him a nice letter to inform him. Funny part of this story was I cancelled the original booking because of a location error and rebooked to a Holiday Inn but a different location and checked into that location... lol so I guess I'm a magician that can be at two places the same time!! Scan and fraud.... Wonder if corporate knows he violated someone's personal privacy.

This made me curious so I asked more questions. I asked her is this something that you add automatically? She said yes, then I asked how do you know who even has a car parked and who doesn't? She said it's just an automatic charge. I asked, is there some type of form you need to fill out with your license plate number or something? She said no. This is the craziest policy I've ever heard and It made me wonder how many people have been ripped off with this ridiculous fee lol. I was literally dumbfounded. Our TV didn't work in our room, I call front desk and spoke to the same "ball of fire" at the front desk to let her know this and she said, "I'll send maintenance up." Maintenance came up just to tell us he doesn't know how to fix these smart tv's and its supposed to be another company that fixes them, he said he would let the front desk know it's not working lol I never received a call back from the front desk. Wasted time! Long story short I fixed the tv myself by unplugging it for about 10 minutes so it could reset. I hate staying here but it's literally the only available option that's close to my family when I come in from out of state. Each time I hope for it to get better but it doesn't lol. Not to mention every time I have come to this hotel to stay and it's a lot, The staff are always different there's never long term employees here, which says a lot.

Breakfast has become severely limited in comparison to previous years. All safe gluten-free options, once plentiful, are now absent with the exception of apples. Individual yogurts have been replaced by a communal cross-contaminated container, etc. Even for my husband with no food allergies, the options have dwindled to powdered eggs and waffle or cereal as more desirable items are not replaced for the following day. Checkin was difficult as the staff was not ready and rooms were not available until 4:30pm. Housekeeping must have been rushed because there was goopy mess on the bathroom faucet and spills on the nightstand. I found a housekeeper in the hall who gave me tissues sprayed with cleanser so I could clean the surfaces. Vomit on the sidewalk at checkin remained throughout our stay despite notifying the front desk. Our sleep was impaired by a flapping sound coming from the bathroom vent which continued throughout the night and day. The nice perks we used to receive (a goody bag with snacks and waters at checkin) no longer happen. We are disappointed because this had become our home away from home - but our last two stays have us wondering whether we need to find a new place for the future. Certainly no longer worth the $270 - $370/nt we have paid, depending on timing. We are hoping that a negative review will result in improvements.

Then this is the place for you and it is awful. The room was awful, the service was especially awful, and the area is sketchy (think sex offenders, drug dealers/addicts, criminals running from the law, etc.). First of all, the guy at the front desk (who I assume is the owner) screamed at me and my boyfriend. Literally screamed at me and refused a refund, because we didn't actually end up staying at this place, but had moved the bedding to check for bedbugs. Even when we checked in before we had seen the room, he had an attitude and acted like he was doing us a favor. Do not try to find customer service here. As for the room: Everything was dirty. Literally everything. The mattress was depressed in the middle and had a cheetah print bedspread. The box spring had stains and marks all over it. The chair in the corner was covered in stains. The room stunk of cigarette smoke. We immediately knew we had to leave. When I told the guy that I needed a refund, he argued with me, and followed me to the room. Then he had the audacity to say we had "used the room," after being in there for literally 5 minutes. Since he was yelling, I started yelling too, and after I threatened to take pictures and put a review on Yelp, he agreed to the refund. When he issued the refund he mumbled how "people are crazy," how "no one has ever complained about the rooms before" (hard to believe), and that I should "never come back!" If you're desperate to find a place to sleep, I suggest your car in a parking lot or on the ground in the woods; you will be safer and more comfortable in either place.
