Be careful, they charge you $3 per day to park a car there that you don't have lol. The front desk girl with less than stellar customer service told me this right off and I said but I don't have a car, I use Ubers... she then said, "oh okay I'll take it off then." This made me curious so I asked more questions. I asked her is this something that you add automatically? She said yes, then I asked how do you know who even has a car parked and who doesn't? She said it's just an automatic charge. I asked, is there some type of form you need to fill out with your license plate number or something? She said no. This is the craziest policy I've ever heard and It made me wonder how many people have been ripped off with this ridiculous fee lol. I was literally dumbfounded. Our TV didn't work in our room, I call front desk and spoke to the same "ball of fire" at the front desk to let her know this and she said, "I'll send maintenance up." Maintenance came up just to tell us he doesn't know how to fix these smart tv's and its supposed to be another company that fixes them, he said he would let the front desk know it's not working lol I never received a call back from the front desk. Wasted time! Long story short I fixed the tv myself by unplugging it for about 10 minutes so it could reset. I hate staying here but it's literally the only available option that's close to my family when I come in from out of state. Each time I hope for it to get better but it doesn't lol. Something has changed for the worse. We have been regular customers with stays about 5 times per year and during our last two visits we have noticed a dramatic decline. Breakfast has become severely limited in comparison to previous years. All safe gluten-free options, once plentiful, are now absent with the exception of apples. Individual yogurts have been replaced by a communal cross-contaminated container, etc. Even for my husband with no food allergies, the options have dwindled to powdered eggs and waffle or cereal as more desirable items are not replaced for the following day. Checkin was difficult as the staff was not ready and rooms were not available until 4:30pm. Housekeeping must have been rushed because there was goopy mess on the bathroom faucet and spills on the nightstand. I found a housekeeper in the hall who gave me tissues sprayed with cleanser so I could clean the surfaces. Vomit on the sidewalk at checkin remained throughout our stay despite notifying the front desk. Our sleep was impaired by a flapping sound coming from the bathroom vent which continued throughout the night and day. The nice perks we used to receive (a goody bag with snacks and waters at checkin) no longer happen. We are disappointed because this had become our home away from home - but our last two stays have us wondering whether we need to find a new place for the future. Certainly no longer worth the $270 - $370/nt we have paid, depending on timing. We are hoping that a negative review will result in improvements. read more

Mid Nov 2024 stayed 5 days - Newer property figured great. - Wrong! HOW COULD A PLACE ONLY A FEW YRS OLD BE SO POORLY TAKEN CARE OF ? Filthy floors in bathroom, mold in shower, stains on curtains (blood??) No face or hand towels, (one day they took my used bath towel that i had left on the floor to be replaced, folded it and put it back on the towel bar). Stains on duvet cover, Dirt and dust bunnies on carpet around bed, and never replaced cups or in room coffee or ice bucket. BROKEN GLASS in hallway and they left it after i told the head of housekeeping (she said she vacuumed it herself - if so, it explains why the place looks soo bad for such a young property - that woman does not care and it shows). Newly constructed hotel with ample parking and easy access to highways. Rates here tend to average in the low to mid 100s because it's smack dab in the center of the state, away from Hartford and New Haven (just a 30min drive away). Breakfast is minimal -- your standard eggs, toast, bagels, bread, waffle station & cereals. There wasn't any fresh fruit as far as I could tell. The gym is also sparse-- just 2 treadmills, 2 ellipticals, 2 benches, and a rack with some free weights. On one of the days, the hotel hosted a mini snack party for the guests with cheese, crackers, cured meats, cookies, and wine came as a nice surprise. read more

Stayed here two nights for a wedding in a two queen "suite" room. We were thankful that they were willing to let us check in early at 1pm for the wedding activities. The room was large and relatively comfortable for 4 people (who weren't planning on spending a ton of time in the room). There were two queen beds, a walk in closet, a desk, a pull out couch, mini fridge and microwave. Getting ready for the wedding was a little tricky since the lighting in the room was terrible. There weren't enough lights to brighten the room properly. There was also no outlet by the full length mirror which made it difficult to get ready if someone else was in the bathroom. The bed was firm but comfortable. I was disappointed that the free breakfast ended at 9:30am on the weekend; that's so early in my opinion. On a Sunday morning, the breakfast area/lobby was packed and there was barely anything left. They had sausage patties, scrambled eggs, an oatmeal bar, bagels/muffins and a waffle maker. They did have a small outdoor seating area with a fire pit and tables/umbrellas. There's also a CVS within walking distance across the parking lot for anything that you may have forgotten. Overall, it was an average stay. The room was new, very clean, relatively large and did the job for the wedding weekend. read more

This was a nice place to stay at. They offered a full breakfast (sausage and eggs), had an indoor pool and a gym with working treadmills. The lobby area has comfortable furniture and there are TVs to watch sporting events. The location allows easy access to the area. We saw the glowing review and thought to check this place out. Previously we stayed at the Element Spring Valley which was amazing. This hotel is just one notch below in many ways. For pool times they allow up to 15 guests at a time which was recently upped from 10. Every state has slightly different regulations. A hot tub here would be much welcomed in the future. Depending on when you go the pool could be at max capacity or totally empty. Sign ups happen same day. They call this hotel the suites. Our room did not have a separate bedroom from living space. There is a fridge and microwave. Grab & go breakfast consists of a small bottle of water with muffin, apple, and granola bar. read more

I have no clue why there are so many low reviews of this fantastic and fun hotel. During the day, it's quiet as a mouse allowing me to do all of the work I need to do. In the early evening the place transforms into a fantastic place to meet up and hang out. Bob, the bartender, make a weary business traveler's life bearable. He provides excellent service! The folks hanging out for a drink at night in the lobby are always friendly with amazing stories. I will be back, often! read more

This place seems fairly new and clean, but we had a TERRIBLE 3 DAY stay here June 2025! We were moving our son to town and working long days unpacking and moving boxes. We were VERY tired each night and NEEDED this hotel (priced at over $300 a night!!!!!) to serve its purpose- which is to allow visitors a calm a quiet place to sleep. It is, after all, a hotel, right? WRONG!! This place fancies itself a conference and banquet center and hosted a LARGE swim meet with at least a hundred young swimmer kids and their parents. The entire place was FULL of yelling kids running up and down the halls for 2 nights, playing music cussing and laughing! In the lobby they were having pizza and banquet parties each night! The hotel only posted a "sign" stating quiet hours were from 10-6:30. Really? I thought a hotel should be where you could sleep anytime? Isn't that the function of the 2 beds? What else do you do there?? The hotel did little if anything to control the noise and chaos! So disgusted with this whole chain I will never visit again!! read more

They charge $20 incidentals charge without your knowledge or permission prior to running your card, they charge $3 a day parking even if you don't have a car and for a newer hotel the room conditions are peeling wallpaper, holes in wall, pull out sofa that is a twin mattress on the floor and they don't give you sheets. I guess if you're tired, you can sleep anywhere. That's about the best I can say about the SpringHill Suites. The rooms look nice. But that's pointless when you can't sleep for all the light and noise. The walls are paper-thin, as are the ceilings. I got to listen to every footstep of my neighbors, every time they closed a door, every time they turned on a faucet or flushed a toilet, which went on seemingly all night. The doors of the rooms have gaps at the doorframe, so light from the hallway comes in beneath the door. The windows look out onto a busy road, but worse, the hotel keeps glaring bright lights on directly in front of every room in the hotel. I suppose I could mention that the doors to get into the hotel are nowhere near the parking spaces, but that's just petty compared to the miserable lack of sleep I got staying at the SpringHill Suites. If I had the option I would rate the customer service of the employees at the hotel a 10/10. On the other hand my overall experience scores a 3/10. I will start off by saying that the employees were friendly and greeted us with smiles each and every day during the duration of our stay. We were able to get plastic utensils upon request and make an adjustment to the length of our stay. We arrived on Sunday after a long day of traveling. It was late, we had been traveling for hours, so we just got our room keys and headed to our room. When we arrived, our hotel bed had looked like it had been sat on. The bed itself was made, but there was an indentation on the edge of the bed suggesting someone had sat down. With further inspection, we noticed that the room had not been cleaned prior to our arrival. The toilet seat and counters in the bathroom were clearly dirty and there was less than half a roll of toilet paper left. There was no garbage bag in the trash can in the bathroom and there were water stains all over the sink and mirror. When we looked inside the shower, we noticed the shower floor was extremely dirty and there were pieces of small pubic hairs on the shower wall. The body wash was completely empty. There were wrappers left over from the previous guest hanging around the room. I suspected it was from the wrappers from the muffins given as the so called "complimentary breakfast." The room basically looked like the sheets were changed (hopefully) and fresh towels were placed over an already dirty room. We were so exhausted we just went to bed that night because we both had work early in the morning. That night when I got back from work, I brought this to the attention of one of the employees. She immediately apologized and offered us a new room. At first my boyfriend was hesitant because we had already carried all of our belongings to this room since we were planning on staying here for a few more days. We declined the offer on a new room, but later went back when we realized there were even more things wrong with the room. The door to our room looked like paint was dripping from the door hinge (not sure if that's the proper language but the picture will so justice). The room was either freezing or way too hot. There was no in between. We couldn't sleep well with the idea that the room had not been cleaned before us and we could not get ourselves to take a proper shower. We went back to the front desk and took up the offer on a new room. Now, this new room was immaculate. Looked very clean, like a housekeeper had actually stepped foot in here. The toilet, counters, and showers looked like it had been wiped beforehand. *another note -- the desk in our previous room was also not cleaned. We were most definitely satisfied with our new room but there is a lot that needs to be done to improve management of this hotel. For starters, even though this hotel is rather small, they should still have basic toiletries and amenities available. Due to COVID we were told that they do not perform housekeeping services. We were told that we could have someone come clean the original room that we were staying in, but it would take a day or so. There is no on site housekeeping services. Toilet paper is also very limited. The phones in the room do not work as well. We were trying to extend our stay for one night as we waited for our negative tests to come back. I called the number on the website and was directed to the booking department after being on hold for 15 minutes because I couldn't reach the front desk. We were on the 2nd floor, I could have gone downstairs in the first place but it's all about convenience. Any hotel should have these basics things available. They have been open for 6+ months and are clearly lacking management skills. I do have to say the employees at the front were as helpful as they could be. If everyone worked as a team and things were better communicated they would have more satisfied guests. We are paying over $100 a night for a Marriott. These problems should not be an issue. * additionally the complementary breakfast consists of a mini water bottle, a granola bar, a gas station muffin and an apple. I would consider this more of a snack rather than calling this a complementary breakfast. read more

Arrived to check in for a wedding on Oct 23 well after check in time approx 3:30 pm. Was told our room wasn't going to be ready for another 20-30 minutes. This left us with little space to get ready for the wedding. An hour later I got a call saying our room was ready, just in time for us to leave for the wedding. Very disappointing as this room was booked under a room block for a wedding. Knowing it was for a wedding, these rooms should have taken priority. read more

If you expect actual suites, find another hotel. "Misleading" is the nicest thing I can say about it. We were expecting ACTUAL suites, with separate rooms for the queen sized beds. They were all cramped together in one room. They put a frosted half window on the desk to call it a suite. We reserved 2 rooms, one for 6 guests, one for 5 guests. We expected linens for 6 and 5. We received bedding for 4 each, and towels for 2 each. One room checked in before the other, and told me about the missing linens. I called the front desk to ask for 3 more sets. When I arrived, only 2 were out. I assumed the third had been taken, but it turns out that my nephew just slept on the couch without sheets and without a pillow, because they didn't provide him linens. I asked for more pillows, and was told they had no more pillows in the entire hotel. So 3 out of the 11 of us did not have pillows. I requested the additional towels from the front desk twice, and finally had to speak to the laundry person to get them. The rooms also claim to have a refrigerator AND a mini fridge. They only have a mini fridge. This was a big deal to us, and after several hours of back and forth we got them to agree to add an additional mini fridge. This is all on top of the fact that the pool area was not cleaned or stocked with towels and the public restrooms were filthy with no hand soap and overflowing trash cans. I filed a complaint with them about their misleading room descriptions, and they led me on for three weeks before a supervisor told me abruptly there would be no further resolution and hung up on me. When I called back, I was told the case was closed and there was nothing else I could do about it. I would recommend to anyone to sleep in their car on the side of the road before taking this hotel. read more

We stayed at this hotel for a wedding on 4/14/23. First we called to see if we could check in a little early and we're told the rooms were ready and we could check in as early as we needed to. Then they had recommended a local salon to get our hair done and that was spot on. The front desk staff were so welcoming and helpful. The staff from start to finish were friendly, professional and always willing to be helpful. The after party bar tender was also friendly and very efficient. Our room was large, spotless and had everything we needed, a small fridge, a desk area, a microwave, a couch, comfy chair. Our mattress was sooo comfortable. The bathroom was lg and bright, perfect for doing make up. Loved the shower. Breakfast the next morning was good and most importantly, the coffee was perfect! read more

We were passing through on a college tour and stayed the night here. It was TERRIFIC! The very new contemporary decor greets you at the lobby. The rooms feels swanky with all new West Elm furniture, plus the double Queen room we stayed in had, in addition to two queen beds, a sofa with a trundle! Perfect for a family. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that there were no towels in our room, also no lotion. The staff did bring both and were friendly and accommodating overall. The Front Desk folks said both errors were due to Covid, but we've stayed in a lot of hotels this trip and all have had towels and lotion. Nonetheless we really liked this hotel and found it very comfortable and well-appointed fir the most part. Should our teen decide to attend college close by, this will definitely be our hotel of choice. read more

This hotel opened less than two weeks ago. My wife and I stayed two nights while visiting our daughter at Wesleyan University, which is a quick, easy drive down Route 3. The staff was very helpful and friendly; the property was attractive and well maintained; and the room was spotless, aesthetically pleasing, spacious, and extremely well designed. While the rooms are clean, the customer service is horrible. We asked for clean towels at 10:00 on Sunday, January 14th and didn't get any and asked again at 1:00 and didn't get any then either because, apparently, they didn't have any and were doing laundry. When I explained to the girl at the front desk with the face tattoo, who at first, refused to tell me her name and instead said "I already told you," when I asked her, that we hadn't received clean towels the day prior either and that no one had taken out our garbage, she asked me if we informed housekeeping that we wanted them to come in and give us clean towels and clean. When I informed her that we did not because we didn't know we had to since no one informed us that this was a requirement when we checked in, she replied, "Well, they aren't mind readers,"in a very rude tone. In addition to running out of towels, they also ran out of breakfast at 9:00 when they are supposed to offer breakfast until 9:30. I understand that there are a lot of large groups here this weekend due to the tournament, but the hotel management, who apparently aren't here on the weekends, should prepare for this. It's one thing to run out of breakfast, but quite another to run out of towels. What's more, it's not acceptable to have employeees speak to guests so rudely, especially when they are asking for a simple accommodation like some clean towels. read more

This hotel is new and really nice. Good location nice work out room and pool. The rooms are very comfortable and modern with beautiful on suite and a sitting space as well. We meant a very helpful, friendly and professional staff member named Chelsea who I believe was a supervisor at the front desk. She went above and beyond to accommodate my requests. She was very professional and extremely helpful. Also there was a very friendly maintenance gentleman we encountered. Unfortunately we found the hotel was running out of a lot of things. There was not butter in the entire hotel for breakfast which seemed odd. Many of the continental breakfast items were unavailable. We were unable to get bottled water anywhere in the hotel and had to leave and buy some at cvs. Seems after two days of no water or butter you could have someone go to the partner hotel less than a mile away and get essential items. Not sure if it's worth the risk to stay her again been staying her for the last one and half years and recently it's seems it is poorly managed. read more

I really wanted this hotel to work. It is super convenient to family in the area, but there were so many odd problems. There are no ice buckets to be had. We were offered the plastic bags that go into the buckets. Went to CVS to get a plastic container to use. There is ONE ice maker in the whole hotel! There is NO soda machine and the "market" had no water or soda when we arrived, but plenty of beer. The next day, there was Mountain Dew. We rented two rooms and the rooms themselves are a good size, but there is no way to secure the bathroom door--the bolt is there but no hole for it to go into. The sink faucet was totally loose. You have to hold it with one hand while using the other to adjust the water temperature. The headboard only has outlets on one side of the bed. There were outlets on the wall next to the bed in one room but they were covered by the headboard, so 2 of the 4 were unusable. The other room had only the 2 outlets in the headboard and one outlet didn't work. The T-shaped toilet paper holder spins, so the rolls can easily fall off. The shower floor is very slippery! The maids started knocking on doors before 8AM and then proceeded to talk loudly on their cell phones in the hallway. The TV in one room did not have a channel guide but the other room did. There are no "privacy please" signs...you have to go to the front desk to ask for one. . One of our rooms had a very noisy air conditioner while the other was normal.
