On my last stay the hotel was fully booked and there were some issues with noise which kept me up really late at night. The staff on duty tried to help, but at the time couldn't identify the issues and with a fully booked hotel, I was stuck with lack of sleep for two nights. Although they couldn't help in the moment, the manager called today, apologized and talked me through the situation. Not only was I not expecting a call, but to speak with someone that listened, showed empathy, truly cared and asked how they could make it right... That's the kind of hotel you want to stay at. Of you have a choice of where you can stay. You can't go wrong here.

I figured no one could mess up a chicken sandwich right? I was wrong. Worst chicken sandwich I have ever eaten. It tasted straight up like nothing but grease. ZERO flavor. At least the fries were decent. As to hotel check in, though the clerks were nice, the clerk who checked me in kept saying my room number out loud in front of other guests - like over and over again several times. As a person staying alone, I did not appreciate his lack of discretion and disregard for my privacy and safety. Most modern hotels, that are security conscious, point to the room number on the card instead of saying it aloud. "This is your room number" (point). "It's on xyz floor. The elevators are over there." When I arrived at the room, the door was not locked or closed all the way. Yet another safety lapse. Luckily, no one was waiting in my room to kill or otherwise harm or assault me. There were random black hairs in the tub and on the shower curtain. Could be a previous guest, could be housekeeping. Who knows? Otherwise, the bathroom looked reasonably clean. Though I asked for a quiet room I was put in a room with a lot of doors right next to each other including the stairs so heard doors opening and slamming shut (as apparently there are no sound dampeners for the doors installed) all night and had difficulty sleeping. 8/19 STAY This time I arrived later. Given the same room as before. When I tried to ask for a different room due to the noise, the clerk acted like I was delusional and stated that the only noisy rooms are the rooms next to the elevator. She then proceeds to tell me that there is a note in the system to NOT move my room. Though she didn't seem to know why and thought maybe I requested it. Tired of trying to explain to this not so shiny woman the noise issue, I just said whatever. It's for one night. I'll live. She then quite confidently tells me I can call downstairs if it is noisy at night. And if I did call, what was she going to do about it? Lock the door to the stairs? Forbid guests from leaving or entering their rooms all night? I was tired and ready to try to get some sleep before going home so I said whatever. I did call down to ask if reception knew of local restaurants that deliver to the hotel. Instead of recommendations (as most hotels provide in room on a card or can tell you if you ask) she just keeps telling me to use Uber Eats. I neither have an account with Uber Eats nor want one so I gave up talking to this person ...once more, as she obviously would be of no help...again, and instead just tried Pizza Hut as we had ordered from them on a previous trip for hotel delivery in another part of Canada. Luckily they did do delivery there so I didn't have to starve or choke down more overpriced terrible food from Gateway. It was also during this stay that I noticed the toilet was leaking at the base - which seemed to happen only when sitting on it and dried itself in a couple of hours. MY OVERALL IMPRESSION: It was a cheaper and quick place to stay for flights out of that airport that you can use your Wyndham points to book. For those reasons/that purpose and that purpose alone, it is serviceable. Just don't let them stick you in one of the end rooms of doom and don't expect much from the staff or restaurant.

They're mostly old and tired, which makes them look dingy, esp the tiling in the shower. Also, charging 15.00 per night for parking is wild. I don't care if it's at the airport and you're "paying for convenience", it's incredibly ridiculous to pay that. Definitely in need of upgrades. (Side note: front desk staff were very friendly and efficient so no slight to them...the hotel just needs some major refresh)

The hotel is ~10 min from the Winnipeg airport so there are some taxis around, but the hotel staff are very nice about requesting taxis for their guests - just ask! Almost every taxi should accept credit card. The airport shuttle was sometimes questionable since it covers other hotels too but when it's available, it's an easy/free ride to the airport. Good to call ahead of time to make sure it is ready. I really liked the hotel restaurant, which operated from 6am-10:30pm? The menu options were all fairly pricey, but the quality and volume of food definitely made up for it. The wok fry was an interesting dish with yellow Thai curry, vegetables, and egg noodles (a lot). The fried tempura ice cream was awesome but I probably should have shared with one other person. The ice cream and strawberries were sweet and cool while the tempura crust was toast and crispy The Hilton club was also a really good lunch sandwich. Very filling but not heavy at all. The avocados were very fresh. Beware the crispy toast - it is a big sandwich so the bread can be abrasive if you go at it too aggressively. I still recommend it though.

Upon arrival to the international Airport, we were quickly able to locate the free hotel shuttle. Upon arrival of this hotel the staff employees that we spoke with were very friendly, helpful, and professional. Once we finally got checked in and in our room,  we noticed that the staff was maintaining the facility at a very high standard of cleanliness. Lastly, the spouse and I truly enjoyed our visit with a very comfortable night of rest at a very affordable rate. We decided to pay the additional daily fee for use of their restaurant for breakfast. The restaurant is a buffet style and offers plenty of healthy options for everyone. For guests that didn't pay for breakfast, there is other nearby facilities within walking distance from the hotel.

I then visited the gym, which was large and had a lot of free weights as well as cardio machines. One treadmill was out of order. There is also an indoor pool which I did not use. When I needed a cab, because there is no Uber in Winnipeg, the front desk was right on it. Breakfast in the morning was standard Hampton Inn fare but it was fine. Check out was a breeze and the return to the airport took five minutes. All in all a great experience. The team there is terrific and the place is nice. Management has clearly put a focus on service delivery and it shows. Great job, Hampton Inn Winnipeg Airport!

My room was recently updated, appeared to be very clean, and the bed was comfortable. However, the walls in this hotel are absolutely paper thin. The second time I complained and they did call him from the front desk but I couldn't get back to sleep. If anyone reading this is a parent to a toddler, you would understand just how much I needed/wanted these opportunities to sleep in. Just a bit lol but I digress. It was also a learning for me to always travel with earplugs. I would not stay here again for work or pleasure.

Everything felt clean and well-kept during my stay, and I really liked the overall design and atmosphere. If you prefer newer, more contemporary hotels rather than traditional or dated properties, this is definitely worth considering. The location is probably one of its biggest strengths, especially if you're coming into Winnipeg for a Jets game. Being right in the middle of downtown makes getting around very convenient. There's also a parkade available if you're driving, and having skyway access is another nice feature, particularly when Winnipeg decides to remind you what winter actually means. My main complaint is surprisingly simple: I really wish the hotel provided complimentary water for guests. For a modern hotel at this level, that feels like such a basic thing to offer, and its absence stood out to me. Otherwise, I had a great experience. Modern, trendy, clean, convenient, and especially well located for anyone attending a Jets game or spending time downtown. Very solid 4 stars!

I stayed here for a week and a half. The staff tried to be helpful but many of them had no idea what was open around town, couldn't make restaurant suggestions outside of the one next door and had no idea how to go about using their third party laundry service. They all just work. This location is right next to the life centre so great for short stays but be prepared for the two restaurants nearby to be jam packed if there are any events. I would also add that the hotel is beautiful inside and the rooms were updated nicely. The function of the rooms need major work. All in all, if I were staying for a short time (2-3 days), I would come back. Any longer stay, I would choose a different hotel in a better part of the city. PROS: - Close to the life centre & has 2 restaurant/bars right next door. - Beautiful hotel and clean/updated rooms - Nicely setup for storage space in the bathroom - Blackout curtains - Above average gym equipment - Many taxis in the area CONS: - No water provided for guests - Only 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels provided - Super small shower that leaks everywhere - The two pane windows are very thin and you can expect to hear every yell, every siren and every speeding motorcycle in your room, as the sounds echo off of the buildings. I was woken up at least 4 times per night from all the noise. - Staff is not very knowledgeable or helpful in helping you find places to go. They also don't make it easy to grab a coffee or a drink since they have to make it in the back. - No on-site laundry services - The rooms require you to insert your card to turn on the lights, that are located at the door. Super inconvenient and kind of a silly feature. Just let people hit the light switch like normal. - I tried taking a call in the lobby lounge but the staff vacuums the lobby for a while every morning while people are coming and going. This work should be done in the evenings. - The lights in the lobby can give you vertigo. They constantly slowly strobe on and off. It's another "artistic" feature that doesn't really work for a lobby.
