The most unique thing about this place is that it can be changed to suit your needs. I've also gone to this place for an event where this place was transformed into something completely different than what I've seen during my parties. The other advantage of this place is that this place is very close to the main central station & there quite a few cafes as well as nice restaurants around, all within quick walking distance. Probably about as popular as Duvet in NYC (or as popular as Duvet was in the early 2000s, anyway). Who can't deny the novel concept of drinking alcohol while in bed, after all? Add the fact that you're steps away from the canal, and outside in beautiful weather, and you definitely earn some bonus points. I had a blast here last night celebrating a coworker who is moving on to bigger and better things. We stayed until the ungodly hours of the late evening (ie: midnight) skåling, and foos-balling, accompanied by fairly reasonable bottles of rosé, delicious white russians, a few shots of jager for good measure, and a late sunset over the skyline of central Copenhagen. I think if it weren't for the ridiculously inconvenient location (1km away from the nearest bus stop, number 40, and if you're on your bike, beware of the MANY potholes on the way out there), and the price of the completely underwhelming cheeseburger (125kr), I might have given it five stars. The owners of this venue would have it in their best interest to make a deal with the water taxi - at least during the warmer months - and the American cooks I heard talking in the kitchen should take better interest in their burger quality. This American was sorely disappointed by how dry and misshapen they were. Halvandet had plenty of guests yesterday, and I have to admit, laying on a plastic covered "bed" out in the sun after spending a whole day in the office was awesome. If they had free wifi, I'd "work from home" here every day of the summer. But I'd probs bring my own food. ;)

An out of the way beach bar/restaurant that is perfect for a sunny day in Copenhagen. It's a bit…read moredifficult to get there if you don't have a car (or boat). It's located on the Amager side of the harbor (opposite the little mermaid). The easiest way to get there on public transport is to catch the water bus (havnebus) line 991. The place has recently undergone a major revamp and is looking in good shape. The new owners had added a lot of new things (inside dining and a spa). The food is good, but I mostly go there to relax with friends on a good summer day.

This is why reviews help... so that I could choose a hotel that did not disappoint…read more I needed to book one night using United Airline points, but I don't ever trust the reviews on the booking site, whether it's through an airline, timeshare bank or other. TripAdvisor is usually where I look, as the reviews are most often objective, up-to-date and give me an idea of how people feel about a place. After sifting through many of the reviews, I landed on the Mercur in Copehagen. I'm glad I did. Upon getting to the hotel, I observed Kristoffer at the front desk, assisting guests before me. I could tell he took pride in his work and really cared about the guests, based on his demeanor, suggestions and help. When I got to the desk to see if I could check in early, he apologized, letting me know that the room wasn't ready yet. I told him there was nothing to apologize for, as I was early and it was before the stated check-in time. He led me to the room to store my luggage. Kristoffer and I then embarked on a bit of my 'tourist' walking tour, giving me suggestions based on my interests, and even telling me who to ask for at a particular bar/restaurant, who I later made contact with and was so very friendly. I had a great day and evening out with the help of Kristoffer. I opted to add the breakfast into my room package and that was really good, so it was very convenient for my morning to get the day started on the day I would depart the beautiful city of Copenhagen. I was able to touch base with Kristoffer one more time that morning to thank him for all his suggestions and help. Kristoffer let me know that the location of the main train station was only a block+ from the hotel, making it extremely easy for me to get to the airport for my flight home to California. I'm always a fan of using public transportation when I can. I could see that many others adopted this attitude as well based on how many where there with their suitcases. If you are looking for a great place to stay, my suggestion is The Mercur. Close to the trains, and very close to the main walking promenade and Tivoli Gardens, among many other things.

The service was light years above the rest of the staff. They wore rubber gloves and catered to any need. Being partially Mexican I wanted sour cream with my chile con carne. And she brought it out without a hitch. Also. They speak great English. Wonderful service. I also was able to get a new duvee cover with utter ease. Very light knocks o ask if you want room service . Very enjoyable experience in this Swedish joint
